Maybe it's just me, but I can't even begin to compare a mother who personally drowned several of her own children to an adult killing a relationship (of whatever nature) partner -- especially based on how they "look"! Those two crimes aren't even in the same chapter of the book, imo.

Which do you find deserving of the DP or lwop?

Well, I don't think I would sit in a room with Andrea, but I think I know what you are saying.

What I don't understand is how anyone can say JA is not mentally ill or crazy. Are we making a distinction between mentally ill and being possesed with the devil. Is there a distinction. I personally think there is. jmo

i was in the courtroom when andrea yates walked in for the first day of her first trial, and the sadness just radiated off her. i can't even describe it to you. it almost made me gasp. she looked pitiful, sick and blank. i don't believe she's evil. i do believe she's delusional and schizophrenic (or she was then) and should NEVER have been left alone with those children.

i think seeing jodi must give a totally different feeling. i think the hair on my arms would stand up.

Didn't like either of them.

Years ago who was the long haired cowboy attorney that always wore fringe? He was a character, but I liked him.

WHAT IS UP with her and her TWO's???

Everything in twos! Two intruders, two gas cans, two suntan lotions, two hamburgers, two magazines and now two threats?

UNLEASH THE SHRINKS!!!

And, as Juan pointed out, she also has two sets of rules: one for Jodi and one for Travis.

  • #645
In a similar vein to this...has everyone seen that entry Jodi made to Travis' obit guestbook?

What piece of work she is!

No! Where is it? I have one glass of Zinfandel in me, I think I can handle it (while I go for another pour).

I've wondered if the defense team did lecture Jodi about appearing like a shrinking violent abused woman in front of Martinez, but Jodi's psychopathy won't allow her to back down to any opponent.

I think all the coaching in the world will not help. She is who she is. If she could control herself, she wouldn't have stalked all her boyfriends or murdered Travis, among other things.

During direct, she told the story about leaving numerous messages after she killed him trying to sound cheerful before getting one right, and then she left that stupid message about being lost and asking him to a play.

Was that to cover the 16 minute call to TA?

Yes slaughtering Travis was soooo traumatizing she blocked it out... Yet recovered very quickly and went into clean up mode... Hardly missing a beat before landing ontop of some guy to hump him

I've noticed that in so many photos of Jodi and Travis together they neither one smile with their teeth showing. I'm wondering is that was Travis's typical photo pose and Jodi picked up on it trying to be more like him. hmmmm

From what I've understood, most of the pics taken of the two of them, were taken by Travis. Not by Jodi.

ETA - I think one of Jodi's sore spots might just be her supposition that she's a "photographer". She wasn't. I have yet to see a single photograph she made that would put her in that category. Most of her photographs are amateurish at best.

I am really excited to hear what the jurors come up with for questions.

Thinking the same thing and wondering if the Jury is spending their weekend compiling questions........

:D

Unless...just maybe, they are thinking, you are an adult, answer the man's questions, we can't tell you what to say.

They might have told her she did great...

I tell ya, they did her no favors by the sweet, slow, coddling pace they maintained with her for days on end. Juans manner is so incredible different, she HAS to become a different person to respond. Juan does. Not. Stop. Moving. I bet he's a great dancer. Nurmi BARELY moves. The DT really led her into a comfort zone.

One of the body language ladies said she was telling the truth when she was on the stand and said Travis told her: A five year old can handle a camera better than you can.
That would be a real put down.

Psychopathy = a mental condition in which an individual DESIRES to participate in very amoral and antisocial behavior and chooses to act on their desire

Crazy (to many people) = irrational insane behavior which the afflicted cannot control r/t a mental health disorder

There is a big difference between "crazy" and "psychopathy".

I don't remember anyone comparing the two of them regarding their crimes before you did. I could be wrong. I don't assume in the slightest bit that if two people look alike that their crimes are in any way connected.

I feel that what AY did was beyond horrific, but I also believe that she was/is mentally ill. Jodi...I think that she is just plain evil.

JMO

Then my question is why would anyone compare the looks of Andrea Yates and Jodi on this thread if there wasn't more implication to the comparison. Just totally random -- like, gee, she looks a lot like my Aunt Jane? I wouldn't think so, so the comparison of their looks and being criminals of a certain type seemed obvious to me. Are you're saying you just chose Andrea Yates randomly from millions of both non-criminal and criminal women Jodi might resemble to compare her with, just 'cause you noticed a physical resemblance? I think she looks a little like Sandra Bullock, personally.

:banghead: Meant to mention this is the long movie post - but since several have mentioned her saying this: [FONT=arial narrow,sans-serif]"...because, if I were in his shoes I would want to jump off a bridge at this point."

In the final scene of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon(a favorite on her myspace), the character played by that actress Zhang Ziyi (Jen in the movie, filled with remorse and grief) jumps off a bridge.

It's a very brief scene:

:waitasec: Noticed it recently because of watching Jodi. Made me more aware of myself doing it. Posted about this before. She's extremely OCD. Watch her approach the witness box; every move she makes is the same as every other time she approaches, the way she stands waiting for the jury, the way she adjusts herself, pours the water making sure the glass and pitcher are in the exact same spot. Look at her bangs; always in the exact same order of seeming disarray.

Like I said, I'm not a professional to analyze this.

I agree. She definitely has OCD. And a lazy eye.

He cut her off big time. Asked the judge to adjourn and turned his back to her to look at his notes! ROLF.

She is steaming.

She might get off if we have a bunch of dumb watts like the pinellas 12 but the cut off yesterday was a worthy moment!

Sorry. Still not seeing it, at all.

And concocted a ninja story to fit the forensic evidence -- which she claimed to have totally forgotten ...

LOL...you'll see, she's very open minded.

I just hope she finds her way here tonite!

Yes I hope so too!

Hey Katie I just has an idea ...

If you are going to be on Nancy Grace can you see if Dr. Ablow is available to be on the same show with you? I'm serious! I think the two of you would be great together!!!

Every time I see those pictures of Travis in that tub bloodied with his throat cut so deep he was almost decapitated , stab wounds in the back and front and on his hands and then a shot to the face. Life without parole is to good for her. The Death Penalty definitely.
