I love him so much for this. I love his tone of voice when he is talking about her "suicide attempt" like he knows she's full of it and only brings that up to try and get sympathy. I love how he mocks her with "Oh no, this is not the way for me to go." and I absolutely love the look of disgust on his face when he asks her if she can imagine how much it hurt Travis.

This is a bit off topic, but this link talks about how the Chinese trails/execution system works...they don't have the elaborate justice system in the US

Very fast trails, hardly any down time to the execution, fast and swift justice

And they don't pull any punches no matter the age or gender

Young girls even...Drugs, sex traffiking are punishable by death

They're taken to the fields, tied up and shot...I'm not even sure if they have an appeals systems

If Arias lived in China, she would be in a grave by now, case over long time ago

I am guessing that Juan is really trying to disprove her outrageous allegations about Travis for his family. To them, it is just as important as proving she killed him. I think Juan is making an effort to disprove her allegations and also prove she killed him. Both are important to the family.

Every singly time Juan can show that she is a liar, he is discrediting her allegations about Travis and her claim of self-defense. Her case is built on lies. Juan is pointing out as many as he can, big and small, to show there is no way she can be believed because she lies pervasively.

The Costco water is just the tip of the iceberg. JM hasn't even gotten started yet! Remember that the State is going for the DP. They believe that this murder was premeditated. JM has to prove that it wasn't just some random impulsive self defensive act. I admit that I couldn't even stand to listen to the case in the beginning and had to stop watching on direct. I patiently waited to start watching again on cross. I vacillate between wanting to scream at the live stream on my iPad and my intent focus on her mesmerizing spin/mind game testimony. I can't wait until JM shifts into 3rd gear. He hasn't even beuan to eviscerate her testimony around the planning. JA may not remember the actual "act" of murder, but how will she explain all the steps she took beforehand. tomorrow is going to be a big day....unless someone gets sick. I hate the way trials never start and stop with any consistency. It's my personal and professional pet peeve. I'm still surprised the defense team hasn't claimed a random mistrial event. I run into that all.the.time. It's now expected. Smh....

EXACTLY – I can't wait lol JM is going to eat her alive. I think we got a little taste of it today with his remark about how it must have really hurt him when she drove the knife in...........WOW it caught me by surprise. Do you think he is going to put up some of the autopsy pics to show her what she can't remember? I think it will get down to the nitty gritty tomorrow!! I can't wait to see how she reacts when she has to explain the stab wounds as well. I'm still trying to figure out why she took the rope with her????? I wonder if she wrapped the rope around him to help pull him down the hall???? It being covered in blood?????? That's about the only reason I can thin of. When she got out of the car she didn't have her shoes on said that she couldn't find and had to wear her “professional” shoes HUH????? I didn't see anywhere that they recovered her shoes at the crime scene???? So what did she do with her shoes??????


I lived in Orlando during CA ordeal and miss getting the “document dumps”. With this trial I really missed not getting depo's and all of the other discovery docs. We would sit there like little kids that you are dangling a lollipop in front of-- just waiting for those docs LOL Sad sad lot we were and for that case to end as it did. …......I will never understand it.

He doesn't draw the line. He makes fun of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. He is an equal opportunity wordsmith. It is much like South Park type humor, where nothing is off limits. I think it is rather healthy. :smile:

You know I just rewatched it and caught Nurmi running his index finger up the side nose in a rubbing motion and thought that is a strange thing to do and then it hit me he's sending her signals. If I saw it is it possible the jury can see these signals as well. jmo

I have noticed this too. Today it was even more obvious. Jodi learned sign language while in jail. She has been studying American Sign Language and is able to sign over 1,000 words. I truly think that Nurmi is sending her signals during trial.

I highly doubt JM is frustrated or at a loss for words or that jodi's evasiveness and stubborn refusal to concede a point is a technique of Nurmi's used to rattle JM.

He is not rattled in the least.

Juan Martinez is a professional. He is very experienced and very professional. he is using a dramatic approach at times to underscore, for the jury, jodi's manipulativeness and inability to tell the truth. And, IMHO, it is working.

This guy is great to watch work. He is inspiring. So, so good.

I have to agree. Watching JM work... well, just say I'm totally captivated, and am truly in awe of his patience with that woman. I really don't know how he does it. He's amazing.

Yes, I posted about it looking like she was cutting her own throat. I think it was right before the lunch break. It was a fast gesture like she was trying to wipe a tear near her neck area. I also keep hearing how she touches her throat area often to self-soothe herself, at least that's what the tv talking heads say.
