Some food for thought about the Chinese trial/execution system vs. the USA's

As modern as China is, I would'nt want to get busted there for any crime

And the Chinese people overwhelmingly favor Capital Punishment...Arias would be a goner if she lived in China

China commonly employs to two methods of execution. Since 1949, the most common method has been execution by firing squad, which has been largely superseded by lethal injection, using the same three-drug cocktail pioneered by the United States, introduced in 1996. Execution vans are unique to China, however.

Lethal injection is more commonly used for "economic crimes", such as corruption, while firing squads are used for more common crimes like murder. In 2010, Chinese authorities moved to have lethal injection become the dominant form of execution; in some provinces and municipalities, it is now the only legal form of capital punishment.

The Dui Hua foundation notes that it is impossible to ascertain whether these guidelines are closely followed, as the method of execution is rarely specified in published reports.

Capital punishment has widespread support in China, especially for violent crimes, and no group in government or civil society vocally advocates for its abolition. Surveys conducted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1995, for instance, found that 95 percent of the Chinese population supported the death penalty, and these results were mirrored in other studies. Polling conducted in 2007 in Beijing, Hunan and Guangdong found a more moderate 58 percent in favor of the death penalty, and further found that a majority (63.8 percent) believed that the government should release execution statistics to the public.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm still waiting for a tazer mishap :)

If she doesn't explode, I'm REAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLY hoping there's a small malfunction. Someone posted an article on here before that when a defendant's tazer accidentally went off he fell to the floor and immediately wet his pants! Since JA seems to care so much about her reputation she'd completely flip her lid if the world saw that!!

Don't we wish!
Unfortunately don't believe we will see anything like that.. if you saw how she reacted with the 'knife in Travis chest' from Juan today, thinking that same reaction will be all we get other than the 'everything but No' from JA.. someone already posted the list those but expect it will be 'that's not true' Alot if Juan goes there, might not be Effective to the Jury now that JA showed how she answers today.. who knows tho, JA will Want to make an Impact on her final day on the stand no?
Say Cheese! :furious:

I missed that whole panning for gold stuff.
I doubt anyone that knew her for more than a day
would want her around!

That is why she bought a gun and registered it, because she wanted to be a responsible gun owner...cuckoo in her coconuts...when she was going panning for gold with the 5 men and she was the only female.

Seriously where does she come up with this stuff?
Too many cheesy novels in between the Star magazines.

Wilmot sure had a reaction when JA said Ryan Burns was "full of crap".
Yes she did! I'm thinking Ryan probably didn't appreciate that!

G-Snap given JA's appetite for sexual adventures, maybe she picked up with Bubba the Truck Driver for a quickie

That is exactly how I feel.
I posted a pic of a lot lizard earlier today.
Free place to sleep and free food too.

I can't get to sleep so I decided to post the thoughts that are keeping me awake.

I can't get past the call, the flowers and the 18 page letter she sent to his grandma.

It makes me feel like she transferred her stalking to his grandma after she killed him.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest and hopefully off my mind. Thanks for letting me vent.

:grouphug: I see that this is just your fifth post, and thanks for sharing what is on your mind. I feel as you do.............so glad they turned that letter over to the PA. It's not like Florida, so I doubt we will ever ever see that letter.....and perhaps for the best that we do not for the family if can't be brought into trial. WE KNOW it is there, we can and will infer what it says.........

Please does anyone have a link of her Inside Edition interview. I cannot find it and
I have looked all over.

Neither here nor there, just some thoughts.

Jodi didn't seem to steal family and friends money on a consistent basis. At least, I haven't heard that, like I did with KC.

Surprised, Jodi couldn't cut it signing up PPL members for her income. She wasn't making money at it even with Gus as a mentor. She went to all those company functions, but she was a PPL loser with no awards. That's a shame because she's really quite good at researching and following up on old ex bf's in her tickler file with her hidden agendas. Couldn't sell PPL though.

I admit, the Florida laws created a full disclosure environment that was addicting. I scoured over every text message, IM, police transcripts. We were spoiled and that made it all the more disappointing that we all knew what evidence was not being used in powerful ways. I don't see this occurring in this trial. Although I think they are both psychopathic killers, JA taking the stand is a huge differentiation from the FCA trial. I have to admit, I find this trial far more compelling for so many different reasons. I'd explain, but I am fading and need to get some sleep.

...........and we had ACandyRose site and Valhall which we all referenced......and now both gone. SHOUT OUT to both of you fabulous folks! as I know you are here lurking! :seeya:

I doubt Juan cares whether or not he's irritating Nurmi. He's there to do a job and that job is to get the conviction of a murderer.

jmo

?? I didn't say or imply that Juan notices or cares. I was talking about Nurmi and his facial expressions and gestures today.

I had googled Matt McCartney when the secret magazine codes were presented. This has an interesting excerpt from a previous hearing, and McCartney made some comments below the article as "MM":

Anyone have thoughts on this?.. will MM put himself Under her bus??
I disliked the cliffhanger on MM!

on a scale of 1 to jodi, (1 being no chance, and jodi being full blown sadist,) how likely is it that j.a. said she put the murder knife in the dishwasher just to ehff with the roommates?

The flower definitely disturbed me. Even that seemed somewhat "premeditated," and like some kind of sick inside joke. You know how serial killers have their little trophies to remind them of the kill, sometimes they will keep them in plain sight because people don't know what it is or the significance.

With knowledge that she had taken away that elderly woman's grandchild, she sent her irises because Travis wanted to name his daughter Iris. How sick is that? And, what in the world is she talking about in 18 pages?? Every action is so obsessive with her. It seems like everything is calculated.

I don't know if any of you watch Dexter, or saw this last season, but when I watch JA in interviews, she reminds me so much of Hannah McKay. ugh.

So are you saying that you think there is something to it? You believe that Chad and/or Travis were actually trolling for lil boys for Christmas, and so Chad decided to advertise it on TA's MySpace, for everyone to see? :waitasec:

No, I personally don't think Chad was serious.

If you had pulled that on me you'd be my ex.

(Snipped like a decorative cord, with a knife from the butcher block by me....respectfully)

Define ex? :floorlaugh:

She has done pretty much an F You to every single person that really was a good person in her life.......mom/dad/sister/brother/gramma travis etc............

She did indeed fulfill her THREAT to destroy people....and targeted those close to her out of "blame"........as Juan is trying to point out.
