I guess I don't understand....
does JA "win" because she hasn't broken down crying or started screaming?
Does she get bonus points because she hasn't confessed to premeditating the murder?
Does she deserve a pat on the back because she hasn't admitted that everything she says is a lie to benefit herself?
Does she deserve kudos for her defiance against the prosecutor who is doing HIS JOB by her avoiding his questions at all costs?
Does Juan's style (perhaps not appealing to some) change the facts of this case or change her behavior -- do they change her guilt or innocence?
Is she less calculating and cold-hearted because some people are confused or dissatisfied by Juan's style?

Just wondering.

She wins if the jury tunes out. If they stop listening, they don't hear all the subtle pearls that JM is attempting to get out there. She wins if the focus becomes her and not Travis and if the jury starts to sympathize with her.

Thats all I'm saying.

When a person is engaged in crazymaking or gaslighting with you, it's recommended to dis-engage and walk away from them...because you will never win. Sadly, in this case... Juan has no choice. He will need more than a stiff drink to recover from this.

Maybe they can hold her " in contempt"
how could they punish her since she's already in jail?

Not being snarky, it's a sincere question. I've wondered for days now how they could make her stop the BS games and testify

And that she is so manipulative and quick "on the fly" that she can just throw things out. I think that is why she was so good at using men and keeping them on the hook. She confused the heck out of Travis!

She also stated that it was a "trigger"--Juan's questioning

This is my concern. I'm not faulting Juan at all. But I'm afraid that by Jodi fighting, arguing and not answering questions at all that the jury is just going to tune out. It was literally exhausting to watch this mornings session.

I'm afraid that Jodi is going to make listening to this cross unbearable for the jury and that even if Juan can score major points the jury is just going to tune out completely.

I have the same concern. I've given up and quit listening at times --- I hope the jury isn't doing the same.

I get that JA is not answering questions and lying but JM (at times) is confusing. For example, the whole library password discussion...JA was correct. A password/log in is not needed at the library however, a password is needed if getting into a password protected site such as hotmail. JM was acting as if he caught her in a lie when JA was being her hyper literal self fighting tooth and nail over every question.

JM started out great but JA led him down a rabbit hole and he followed.

IMO

Testing my sig. Is this okay?

Just noticing these photos and how JA's face reminds me of a man, just give her short hair. Jail must really change people.

What's super creepy to me is how she VERY CALMLY, not blinking an eye says, "Because you're making my brain scramble." If I felt like that, I would be flushed, in tears, emotional, voice raised, excited. Not reacting, with that little girl calm voice.

The only reason her brain is scrambled is because she can't remember all her lies in different orders. The questions are not that hard.

I went to the LDS website to see what pamphlets they have...

"For the Strength of Youth" is quite comprehensive. I didn't see anything offhand about pedophilia though. https://www.lds.org/bc/content/shared/content/english/pdf/ForTheStrengthOfYouth-eng.pdf?lang=eng&icid=osd

There's a "Chastity" pamphlet but again, it seems to just assume non-pedophilic tendencies:

You should have gone to the mall. :giggle:

Everyone take a deep breath and say "We, the jury, in the above-entitled cause, find the defendant, Jodi Ann Arias, guilty of murder in the first-degree."

I want to see big, bold signs of everyone on here furiously typing "GUILTY!!!" when the verdict is read. :)

ITA! Is that allowed, all the signals they flash her? I would imagine the jury has to have noticed them, and it can't help whatever bit of credibility she's managed to scrape together. Maybe I am still crushing on Judge Perry too much, but this judge just doesn't seem to run as tight a ship.

I've followed many cases! And have never seen a judge not do anything! Is she tired or enimic low iron !Please I've never seen anything like this disrespect being allowed. It could be a good thing for the prosecution that the jury is seeing the real inmate arias! Evil side.

I was amused by one run this morning. Mr Martinez is rapid firing questions, Jodi is doing the Jodi dodge and weave, neither one stops talking while you hear Mr Nurmi object in the back, the Judge rules and during this Juan and Jodi are still going at it and now the Objection is gone.

None of the 4 stopped talking. That court reporter is good!

They couldn't make her do anything IMO, but I would like to see the judge take a little harsher tone with her. It would be interesting to see if she treated the judge as disrespectfully as she does the prosecutor.

No disrespect for the loss of TA's life, every life is precious. But the crime against Caylee Anthony isn't even in the same stratosphere as the crime against TA. Again, no disrespect and the utmost sympathy to TA's family.

Caylee was a baby who looked to her mother for protection, mommy, above anyone else in the entire world, is supposed to protect her. She put ducttape over her mouth and nose and put her in the trunk and then had the unmitigated nerve to dump her in a swamp. Mommy did that to her. Her protector did that to her. The one thing in her life that she could idolize, the one person who meant everything to her...did that to her.

It's disgusting that that 🤬🤬🤬 walks the same earth that I do, it makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.

Now, on to Jodi....she is diabolical and she will kill again if set free, of that I have no doubt.

I feel like telling JC on HLN that her 1word answers are not creative or cute. Gets on my nerves.

I don't think we've seen this back and forth between JA and JM since last Thursday. Maybe there was a little of it yesterday, but yesterday she was in 'tears'. Today she is back to smirking and defiant.

He doesn't spend more than a half day in this type of sparring with her, so I expect [and hope], this afternoon we will make some headway on the important facts of this case.

Yes, and today she came out of the box punching. I think something happened when there was a delay. There was a meeting with the lawyers and the judge, and she was pissed. I think she must have been mad at her lawyers too or else she would have attempted to comply with the Polly Purebred schtick.

speculating here, her mom might be passive -aggressive and got enjoyment out of jodi evading answers calmly and weaseling out of things with her dad or other authority figures, thereby reinforcing her to be a deceptive character. and the rest of the story...here she is.

Isn't what JA doing considered "nonresponsive"? I don't get why she's not called down on it by the judge, and if continues to repeat, charged with contempt of court. Maybe it wouldn't matter? :banghead: Idk, but I personally couldn't put up with what JM is putting up with. Thank God he's blessed with such patience and amazing stamina.

Which brings me to, maybe nothing they do would affect JA's combative behavior, and JM knows this so that is why he continues to just pound away. His goal is to get to the bottom of it, clear the name of the innocent victim, and expose JA for the obstinate, lying, unshakable, cold, calculating manipulator and killer that she is. He will do whatever it takes and is determined not to let her manipulate and dictate his course of action, which is what she is desperately trying to do, imo.

The judge will only rule on something if one of the attorneys makes an objection. Every time Jodi fails or refuses to answer one of Juan's questions, he could object to the answer being non- responsive and ask for an instruction to Jodi to answer his question. He's not making those objections, presumably for strategic purposes, so the judge has nothing to rule on.

That's it?

She's facing conviction and execution.

And we think she's concerned about being held in contempt of court?

Her calculus is clearly that the end justifies the means -- on ALL levels.

How else to explain, for example, the attempted witness tampering with her sophomoric Nancy Drew-wannabe magazine code?

That's true. Maybe they should use enhanced interrogation techniques. :-X
Luckily, JM has discredited just about every lie, witness and expert for the defense as he goes.
