I wasn't going to respond to the post on the last thread, but this has me a little irritated. First, let me say that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, of course. Here's mine. :MOO:

It really bothers me that there are people out there who seem to think that the responsibility for the dynamics of their "relationship" falls completely on Travis. Jodi is an ADULT woman and is just as capable of making the decision to walk away vs. continuing to pursue a man she knows has no interest in a future with her. It goes both ways!

Yes, maybe Travis was using her for sex. Ok. Well, Jodi was using sex to try and stay close to him. Maybe she did think that he would change his mind and "fall" for her, but she could've given up and stopped having sex with him at any time. She even says in her letter that she knew he liked his "bachelor status" or something along those lines. She also says that she's not his "secret lover" but a FRIEND. It seems clear to me that she knew where he stood, but made the CHOICE to continue a sexual relationship with him.

Why is it TA's responsibility to end it out of concern for her feelings? :what: For all we know, he tried and she told him she was good with how things were between them. Anyway, my point is, it went both ways and I don't think it's fair to place the blame on one side.

MOO

Thank you so much for responding to this, and so well. I wanted to, but being new I was afraid I might break a forum rule with my initial reaction.

After the kneejerk thoughts I had, I was just sad, and a little worried. No matter how many posts/opinions/discussions I see and have with others that see what seems to me to be so incredibly obvious - just one post from someone that sees it so differently reminds me that there could be one or more people on the jury that does too. I just hope and pray that every single one of them is able to set aside either their pity for or disgust with the accused and follow the letter of the law.

It's painfully obvious how she was draining him mentally. So sad.

Mentally, financially, time, work productivity, friendships, etc.

What wasn't she taking from this poor guy?

Poor Jodi- her feelings were hurt....

Nurmi is utterly vomitus.
His melodramatic outbreak is totally contrived and ridiculous.

Not only this but I get very annoyed with people who say "Why didn't they just do x,y,z?" Maybe on a NORMAL person this would have worked but Jodi is NOT. normal. She is a psycho/sociopath/cluster b's up the ying-yang. We have all heard of cases where an abused partner leaves the other, gets restraining orders, moves, changes numbers, and ends up dead still! Pieces of paper don't stop a determined angry crazy person. Being nice does not stop a determined crazy person. Being mean does not stop a determined crazy person. Yes hindsight is 20/20 but seeing the level of psycho she is I am not sure if there was much of anything that would have stopped her.
I'm convinced the only reason I'm still alive is because my psychopathic abuser was convicted on a weapons charge and sent to jail for a year - after relentlessly threatening and stalking me while on bail. Once incarcerated he was charged with another, much more serious crime, that kept him there long enough for me to put an ocean between us. He's due to be released in 3 years and I'm already having nightmares and severe anxiety.

Luck or divine intervention. That's it. For some victims of a psychopath that's the only thing separating them between life and death.

Gee, even Travis wanted her to get to the point with her stupid story...

  • #649
Please stop this before I begin to dislike you? I would have been much more brutal.

Me too! I just don't think it was Travis' MO to be mean. He wasn't good at being mean.

Travis asked her to get to the point? Can't blame him for that!

When she got back to Yreka, she felt like her old self. :what:

So she went back to AZ to murder Travis.

She felt like her old self, the suicidal fog had lifted.

So she went back to AZ and murdered Travis.

BBM - just like a light switch

How did we end up going from the end of May back to the beginning of April? Nurmi really needs to start considering the jury here, as does the judge.

JP would never, ever, ever have stood for this drawing out of the testimony. Ever.

In fact, I can hear JP now...move it along Mr. Baayyeezzz....LOL

hahaha. Get to the point! I can certainly understand that!

  • #653
Ha ha ha Travis told her to "get to the point"......bet the jurors know how he felt....

  • #654
well if nothing would have stopped her what are people who find themselves in relationships with crazies like her right now able to do? change jobs & move to an unknown location and cut off ties with everyone you know? just disappear?

I bet the Jury heard Travis in that one and silently high fived him in Heaven. GET TO THE POINT! No kidding. Sheesh.

  • #657
TA didn't like to listen to her go on and on? YA DON'T SAY! :banghead:

This is just crazy!! If my daughter was on trial in a death penalty case (or actually any kind of case) I would be shaking like a chihuahua! Not smiling and laughing.

Nurmi: SO you were scared weren't you? He called you a name didn't he?

JA: yes

Nurmi: And you didn't like it DID YOU MISS ARIAS! DID YOU?

JA: no...

Nurmi: So you slaughtered him, you shot him, practically cut his head off didn't you!!! Didn't you Miss Arias! Oh ... your Honor, hold on a minute.. where was I going with this?

If Travis was serious about getting rid of Jodi, why no restraining order? No, he just kept making plans to have more sex with Jodi.
You realize a piece of paper can't stop someone right? Google Tracey Thurman.
