I'm confused about the atm transactions. She said she was transferring money between accounts, yet every transaction was a deposit. Nurmi mentioned "receipts and checks" but I only remember atm receipts for that time. It could be a transfer if she deposited cash in one and then used a check on the other, except the deposit receipt showed all the balance available, which it wouldn't do for a check. And why not just deposit the cash in the other to begin with? I heard a guy interviewed on Dr. Drew I think. He's a friend that she visited in Big Sur during trip, and he said she borrowed money and needed it to go Mesa, which would fit in better with the atm receipts. Why he hasn't testified.

He still had sex with her. It was within the pattern they've established, where they are hateful to each other one day, then have sex on another, whether by phone, cyber or in person.

Seeing those messages, it struck me that if I ever felt angry enough to talk like that to a romantic partner, I couldn't picture still wanting to be with the person ever again.

Totally agree with everything you say.

But... :) ...

I don't see how any of it is relevant to how or why Travis was so brutally murdered or indicates even the smallest connection to ending a life purportedly in self defense.

Agreed, not relevant to justifying a murder, but perhaps relevant to not getting the death penalty imo.

Another easily shown lie I see is with the gas cans. She said she got them because gas is expensive in California, yet she filled them up in Pasadena!

I want to know what she did with the weapons.

Ditto Ditto Ditto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I'm 99.9% positive we will never ever know... ugh! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

She says she spoke with Travis during road trip. Do the phone records show this? She's talking about all these calls she's making to him, and specific times. The phone records could prove her wrong.

The water mark on the box in the closet does NOT mean that was how high the water was. Water wicks upward as the cardboard absorbs it.

If you ever try watercolor painting, you can experiment with putting a drop of color on a wet or dry surface and then again on a tilted surface.

I agree that the water would wick upward and like I said since I don't have the link to the police report I obviously don't have proof of how it was worded but it was my understanding that since it was blood mixed with water, he could see a visible line of about how high the water got. I think if you have blood and water mixed together there could still be a visible line even if you have water that has been wicked upwards as well. Either way, whether it was 1,2 or 3 inches I still think it is a lot of water and since I have a shower like his, I think something had to be blocking the drain for a while. Just my own opinion though so...I could be wrong.

I do paint watercolors :) not well, but I enjoy it :blushing:

She mentions going to Salinas to get nails done and that there was "a wait" at the salon. Isn't this obviously when she got her hair colored? It's probably a pipe dream at this point but I hope someone is looking into this to find out.

So did Jodi give us an example of the new math these days. She said she rented the car because she was having trouble keeping up on the maintenance, oil changes, bad on gas, etc. of her car but she decides to buy the BMW from Travis $4,500/$6,000 (not sure what she agreed to pay) and making payments but she has money to rent a vehicle. Wouldn't it have made sense to pay what she owed on her car and just drive it. She planned to go to Utah but made plans for a side trip to Pasadena hundreds of miles from her destination just to take pictures of a baby whose mother never even confirmed she'd be home to meet Jodi. She needs money, can't pay her bills, has to borrow the money, but decides to go way out of her way taking a vacation she could not afford because she wasn't get paid for it. I hope the man who claims she borrowed money from in Pasadena has a receipt.

Does that make sense to anyone????? jmo

Can't wait to hear what happened to the gun that she didn't bring with her. I can see why she did not want to admit carrying a concealed weapon that was reported stolen over state lines with no legal permit. That's a hole Juan can drive that Mack truck through. Next the knife? She got it from the butcher block? Yet all those knives were tested, Flores testified to that. If Jodi washed it in the sink it would have tested positive for blood. Did she put it in the dishwasher? Did she wait until the dishwasher was done before putting it back in the block???? It just does not make sense. In a self defense case you would not think to do all of that. Only someone who had thought things out previously would know to do all these things. People who are upset just can't think logically. jmo

I'm still awake trying to figure these things out. Finally tonight I conclude: there is no sense. No logic at all. Nurmi cites a lie, and JA explains it with two or three more lies. The lies are just heaped up so high and so thick it's impossible to make any sense out of them. This testimony is 99% BS. She drove a car and she used a knife. The rest, I doubt we'll ever understand.

Maybe I'm just tired. Juan Martinez, Esteban Flores and the jurors will get it right somehow.

Another easily shown lie I see is with the gas cans. She said she got them because gas is expensive in California, yet she filled them up in Pasadena!

And she is worried about the price difference of gas, and yet she goes for a manicure and a strawberry frappacinno. Not exactly penny pinching.

I think the funniest lie is the skateboarders in Pasadena, who decided to turn her license plate upside down. Yea, sure. They had their phillips screw drivers and pulled a little prank on a stranger for the lolz.

Man, yesterday's testimony is full of easy targets. She says she filled up twice between Pasadena and Mesa, yet why did she not save those receipts???? No receipts between 6/3 in Pasadena and 6/6 in Parker, NV. Just a coincidence, of course.

(posting so much, because watching the testimony right now)

I'm bummed that so many folks on here think she surprised him in the shower :( I think it's so much more premeditated that she had a plan to trap him in that shower. She had it figured out way beforehand, imho. She brought the weapons on purpose to that bathroom -- where there were no defensive weapons available -- and trapped him in that tiny shower, where he could only leave by one direction. I think she was able to convince him to sit down, even.

I don't think it's as strong evidence if she just surprised him. I think she planned exactly how to overpower him better than that.

The defense is already questioning why she didn't just shoot him sometime before. I seriously think she planned to sleep with him first and then kill him in the shower at the end instead of leaving nicely. The thought of her titillation about that as they were having sex blows my mind, but I think that's exactly what she did. Talk about murder-as-control! She had to feel wicked as hell during their intimacy. Pure evil.

She didn't happen to catch him in the shower (imho). No way.

Hello fellow sleuthers! I've never posted on TA's forum but in the past couple of weeks been following this case livestream and on other sites. Guess you could say I just crawled out from under a rock:blushing:. My dad was the one who brought this case to my attention a couple of weeks ago (I had not heard about it til recently). I'm in Canada and we don't seem to get much coverage here unless you watch the US news or NG. ;) I don't watch much TV period.

Anyhow I just thought I'd put my :twocents: worth in. I do agree with much of what Writer mentioned pertaining to him being surprised in the shower by JA. I believe she figured she could kill TA in the shower, have all the evidence/blood contained to the shower, wash it away and make a clean get away. Little did she figure there would be a struggle. She had a shower first cleaning herself up, got dressed, put her stuff in the car but left the knife and gun hidden possibly under the bathroom sink (in evidence pictures that cupboard is open and the detective said it was open when they arrived). She was ready to flee immediately after she murdered him. She may have been the one who suggested to take the pictures for him to lure him into the bathroom or she just showed up in the bathroom and started clicking away. At that point he would've just gone along with it or possible told her to stop. That one picture of him looking straight into the camera, he doesn't look like he's too impressed and some pictures look like the shower stall door was closed (not too clear and you can see the flash of the camera reflecting on the glass door). So to me and JMO, he wasn't expecting pictures to happen. Unfortunately for her, things got messier than she figured and that is why she threw the items in the washer with bleach. Could it have been she didn't realize the camera was amongst all the clothing she scooped up, and it got tossed in the washer also. In her haste to get the heck outta there, and unable to predict and plan the "what ifs" she was probably scared shatless and just went into autopilot by doing a load of laundry instead of bagging the clothing and dumping it somewhere. If it wasn't for her getting her fingers/hand cut, she probably would've just took off, leaving the bloody mess, but being her blood got on items she thought she'd clean up the mess, erasing all evidence by washing everything in bleach.

IMHO she's a psychotic, overbearing, narcissistic, wackyjob who couldn't take the fact that TA didn't want her in his life and when it came down to the crunch, knowing it was not her going away with him to Cancun, but another woman, she couldn't stand it. She knew at this point he was done with her, that he was moving on in his life without her. She wanted everything he had and she was so obsessed with him she figured if she couldn't have him, no one else would. It seems he tried to let her know so many times he was through with her in round about ways through text messages, but she refused to leave him alone. Too bad he kept responding to her.

It's totally ridiculous that she has been on the stand going into the eighth day. Shame on her defense for allowing her to blah, blah, blah on and on. They should be consulting her to keep it simple. I wouldn't be surprised if the jurors have already labeled her as a whackjob being as she rambles on so much. It's going to be hard now for her to keep her story straight hahaha. I can hardly wait for cross examination. Martinez is going to have a hay day with her. I don't know anything about Martinez but I like him so far. He seems very clever and a no nonsense type of lawyer. Maybe I'm wrong, but I do like his style. As for her team...is this their first case or what?! :floorlaugh:

Well that's just all MOO and I can absolutely see her being locked up for the rest of her life. I'm not too sure about the DP but either one would suit me just fine. Looking forward to hearing her explain how her grandparents stolen gun ended up in her hands...this will be good lol. Oh yes, it's not her grandparents handgun.

RIP Travis. They say only the good die young. How sad. He seemed to have such a bright future ahead of him.

If the camera was already in the wash at this time then how could he have been mad at her if she dropped it? Wasn't that what the defense said?

We know that the picture of her killing him is on that, so we know it was after her or Travis (she can't remember who) put them in there. hmmmm.

She is going to say she was that frightened and scared, so she started a clean up? Surely if you have flipped out this would be the last thing on your mind? She dragged the body back to the shower, probably to remove evidence, she must have took that "big long" piece of "rope" with her, as it was only that little piece that was found on the stairs, she waited till no one was home. She showered and changed (she must have with the amount of blood on her) Her clothes were in the car at this point she must have gone out to get them. She took the gun and "his" knife. She left a message on his answer machine when he was dead and then she went to have sex with someone else hours after she had murdered Travis to try and create an albi. She thought she was so great she would never be caught.

They can not say she wasn't thinking rationally at this time. These are the actions of someone knowing full well what they have done and try to remove every scrap of evidence in preparation to continue the next part of her story, should she get caught. I bet she was really annoyed that she left evidence, as I think in the first interview she really thought she was getting away with it all - then bring in the ninjas.

Is all this stuff going to have any impact at all? she has already admitted to killing him - saying everything she can think of to say to wasn't premeditated. No murder weapons, she had the scratched CD's on her in her bag- she had no money but was going on a road trip as she had work with her photography, Travis knew she was coming -(according to her). Its so damn annoying, that we have to listen to her side of the story ONLY.

There is a crappy lie for everything. Not one single thing in this whole period she was seeing him was one single tiny thing all her fault.

I just hope that one of the jurors, doesn't buy this garbage.

We need her to shut up now and get Juan up to put all this straight, and tell the jurors exactly how this is and prove she is a liar ( a crap one at that) and that this was premeditated.

Ok rant over.

Did she happen to leave the water running in the bathroom? I can tell you from experience a wee bit about wicking such as you saw on that box. Years ago our basement flooded and we only had about 4" of water. The water didn't sit very long (maybe an hour or two) before we discover the flood. But the drywall absorbed the water quickly and later that day the watermarks on the wall were a good 8-10" high up the wall. Cardboard would be more absorbent and it wouldn't take much water IMO to look the way it does in the picture. I'm just wondering how the heck water got in the closet. Even if TA was soaking wet, he wouldn't shed that much water would he? :waitasec:

About the camera and the wash---I think she might say they started the second load of laundry before
he got in the shower. [ they must have a good hot water tank to do that though.]

But then, after the murder, she threw the camera in the washer so it would ruin it. :liar:

If anyone is interested...Frontline is airing Raising Adam Lanza at 10:30pm on PBS

OT - Thanks for this info! I bookmarked it so I can watch tomorrow.

  • #977
Apologies if this has been mentioned but.... Nurmi asks JA something along the lines of why she is "hairless down there" and she said because Travis didnt like any hair at all.... so if the plan was not to see Travis at all why was she groomed to 'his liking'??

  • #978
Arghhh! Comcast doesn't have PBS!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can watch it online. I googled it & located it right away. Saved it to my bookmarks to watch it tomorrow. I'd send u the link but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to...still kinda new to WS. :)

Ah... I hadn't thought of the penalty phase...

I think I've gone overboard with my being so upset with the dragging DT CIC... plus INAL, and I prove that daily... :)

Thanks, Squirrel
