UGH, JVM has TA shooting what appears to be an AR. Which only solidifies my belief that he would NOT have a wuss .25 cal in his house.

Exactly why is he expected to treat her any differently than another premeditated murderer? Ive never understood why some think he should pussyfoot around and be a Nurmi robot.

This isnt even his first rodeo of putting a female on death row.

WA was also on the stand for 9 days...........claimed self defense (falsely) and domestic abuse (falsely.)

He knew exactly how to cross examine Wendi Andriano. (sp?) The jury gave her death like she deserved and Arias deserves the same punishment.

JMO and MOO but it goes back to our unacceptable societal double standards, shallowness, and prejudices.

Unfortunately whether it's conscious or not, there's clearly a mentality that this small, petite, frail, "attractive" female is more capable or likely to be a victim, more deserving of a victim status and should be treated with kid gloves. Her physical appearance is probably the best (only) thing the defense has going for them.
Forget about reversing genders, if this defendant was morbidly obese female, deemed unattractive, we would never have heard about this case. WS would but the broader community would have no use for it. Defense attorneys would be much more likely to use insanity or mental illness instead of self-defense.... not as easy to create sympathy for that victim. Look at the JA is innocent website (well, don't!)... I'm pretty sure most of those folks aren't quite right in the head.

It's upsetting and I can only hope the jurors are better than these irrelevant issues.

I'm watching Jodi's testimony from this morning again, and this one story she broke into right in the middle of the murder story is just unbelievable. I mean, for one thing -- it shows her to be a complete stalker obsessed weirdo; it also shows that she has absolutely no boundaries for herself or anyone else; and the level of ridiculous, extraneous detail of this stupid story, right in the middle of the murder story, is surreal.

She is so completely out of touch with reality -- not that she is psychotic, but she is completely clueless about what it is to be human.

It truly was a stellar moment. Even her cadence changed. Not often do we get a look "inside". Fascinating.

Nurmi's tone in that last statement "That's all I have" was like he was throwing up his hands 'I've done everything I can.'

In this one male's opinion, JA's arse is cooked even before her cross. I started following this case from afar after viewing the 48 hours show and went in with an open mind. I haven't had the time to watch the entire trial but have caught bits and pieces live and read here daily late at night.

It is soooo obvious that she was a woman scorned and we all know the saying That plus the fact that she is psycho doomed poor TA's fate. She has also been caught in so many lies and her excuses for them are beyond lame. I arrived home early today and turned the trial on and had to turn it off after 10 minutes. Her cover my arse routine was just so unbelievable. ( BTW she is not an attractive woman for those worrying about that)

The only hope for her IMO is that one elderly gent pities her for her childhood and fancies himself the father she should have had instead of the abusive(supposedly) one she did have and holds out for a hung jury. Chances of that are probably minuscule however.

I also like how an accidental gunshot just manages to hit his head. One would think an accidental target would be the torso with its much greater mass.

BBM - Well ... if it's anything like the CD that JA said TA threw in the office; remember the one that JA said first hit the ???? then hit the ???? then bounced off the ???? and finally his JA in the head ...

JA may have shot the gun toward the ceiling as a warning shot for TA to stay back. The bullet may have ricocheted off the domed light fixture, sending it careening toward the sink faucet, launching it at TA's lunging body, bullet narrowly missing JA, and striking TA just as he was aggressively tackling JA.

Just a possibility. :shakehead:

A day or so without Nurmi questioning Jodi will be wonderful. Juan will rip her story into tiny shreds and then Nurmi will have to try and put this paper Humpty-Dumpty back together again.

As for Travis keeping that tiny gun in the closet without ammo... ludicrous. Also unexplained was how she got all that time to run and move the seat over, climb on it, get the gun, get down, put the seat back before Travis came at her. Oh, and did Travis enter the closet from the bathroom or the bedroom. If so, did Jodi then open the door to the bathroom to escape (with her back to Travis), lunged at her, grabbing her waist and fell down (because he was wet?). And she managed to stand over him and shoot him in the face?

Or some variation therein of???

Exactly. She knew from stalking him that he had another woman in his house! And she was not gonna let that happen!
I'm sure the ss card theory was invented for the jury's ears. Then she said she came back over the next day and hopped up on his dryer while he was painting. WTF Who does that? That little tidbit she threw in today surely did not help her. I would be upstairs banging my head on the wall too, if I had umknowingly let a sociopath in my life!

I have pink eye or some sort of eye infection. My doctor wanted me to come in this afternoon, told him i couldnt, prior commitment. He says, tomorrow afternoon? I said, no can do. I need something before noon. My appointment is now on Friday.

I hope my eye doesn't fall out in the interim
