When Nurmi ended, he sounded defeated. Like shrugging 'I've done everything I can with what I had to work with (JA)'.

Do her work for her so she can collect the big bucks (and still manage to get facts incorrect)? yeah, no thanks! She can do her own homework.

Really. Her producer should be doing the homework anyways. I'm saddened that Nancy doesn't bother to make sure her facts are correct anymore. Back in the CTV days, she always did.

Page 2

Distinct change in jurors since yesterday. Much more serious and attentive.

How does this woman who has no money afford a gun?

My fantasy foreman (the male) looks different today--hand over his mouth, sitting way back vs up in his seat. Some jurors in the back row tuning out.
She's absolutely ridiculous re: the gun purchase. Claiming she did it to be a responsible gun owner and/or go on a gold panning expedition with a bunch of men....supposedly right after she was in a life threatening situation. She makes no sense. I have a feeling she blind sided Nurmi with this...he expected her to say she bought it to commit suicide.

Her affect changes dramatically when she's actively engaged in spinning a tale. SHe gets more animated, more energy, looks up more directly.

She's suicidal but she's planning a fun weekend gold panning get away?

My question for Jodi "Did you bring your new gun to Travis' Memorial service in Mesa?".

Ok on to page 3.............

I have thought many times that she has gone off message and Nurmi has had to adjust. He has annoyed me but he is dealing with bad facts and, imo, an uncooperative client. Thanks so much for all of your observations!

Same here. I was away all day just to come back and learn that I missed almost nothing. That's psychopaths for you- promise you the earth and then pull the rug out from under you and give you nothing. Total tease. Pass the cake. :)

Ain't that the truth.

Yes. I've always thought this was a case where a second degree charge would have been a slam dunk. This pros has overcharged with 1st degree before to wind up at a manslaughter verdict.

I understand what you are saying. However, with the brutality of the murder and what she did before and after I do not think 1st degree is an over-reach. moo

Anybody else thinking Jose Baez is at least smarter than Nurmi? At the very least he was smart enough to know better than to put his lying client on the stand. Both CA and JA are so confident in their lying that they honestly think everyone will believe them. Some say Casey Anthony is a better liar than JA, but I don't think so. CA's lies were also easily disproved. I often wonder if there would have been any different outcome if CA had testified. If seeing her in action would have woken the jurors up :dunno:.

The defense they chose to pursue in JA's trial amazes me. They really have nothing to back it up. Nothing. I agree with others here today that said today was the finish for Nurmi. He has done what he can for her, but she just keeps digging her hole deeper. It seemed to me that a LOT of her answers today were not what he was expecting. She's every defense lawyer's worst nightmare. A psychopathic, unpredictable, unfeeling, and obviously guilty, defendant. And Nurmi was no match for her. Juan will be her match though. I bet he has her ticket - written out and ready to deliver. :great:

ETA: I do understand why her defense is doing what they're doing, but I think they could have picked a more believable strategy to work with. They really were not successful in making her a sympathetic figure. I think it did exactly the opposite. Maybe because she's driving the bus (that keeps driving over everyone she ever knew).

Being a waitress got me through college. It is not an easy job but it paid my bills. Being a waitress is not easy. Dealing with people has its challenges.

Yeah I had a hard time with those attacks. Jodi's flaw is in her lack of character, not her lifestyle. Thing is, the most offensive thing to Jodi aren't these types of attacks on her life, but the truth being that her life on paper without this incident was pretty unremarkable, neutral. Neither something to be condemned or highly praised. I think she believed having Travis would change that (or she just couldn't handle the rejection). Even now I think she would rather be infamous than forgettable, disposable.

And really, wouldn't the canteen (or whatever the little market is called in the jail) keep track of how much medicine an inmate is purchasing? Wouldn't you need ALOT of freaking Advil to do this? I assume they sell the little 2 pill packets - not entire bottles.

If a little too much Advil could kill you, I am pretty sure I'd be a goner already, because her testimony required 2 advils twice a trial day. Oh, and a Kahlua Coffee at the end.

Oh and I thought one of THE MOST disgusting things she had the audacity to say today was her little "after death" encounter with Travis the day of the memorial service where she claimed he 'was in a better place". I think I gasped and/ or heard someone near me gasping. SHE HAD JUST KILLED HIM.

Oh boy I just can't wait for tomorrow and BOY JUANDER.

It was at that point that Samantha starting crying, so very sad to watch.

Oh and another point.

She claims she stopped at the Hoover Dam and wondered what to do "because her life was over." She mentioned a few times that she knew "her life was over."

Why would she think THAT if she actually killed in self defense?

REAL self-defense gets someone acquitted (or not even charged in the first place). Yet she already 'knew' her "life was over" and the rest was figuring out if she should/could kill herself or go to prison for life.

So right there she was also telling us (and the jury) that the killing was NOT in self defense.

Who's to really say Madey...Love, obsession over a lover can do alot of different things to a person's mind

Look at Mindy McCready the singer. Her lover committed suicide, then about a month later she suicides and kills the family dog too?

People deep down, on the surface even, are fragile

Jodi probably hacked his computer, reads his Gmail and has picked his kids up from school a few times signing in as Mrs Detective Flores, taken them to the Pediatrician and then delivered them back to school.

Flores is Mormon? I missed that, and how in the world would Jodi know that?

StephanieHartPI: You are absolutely sending me over the edge! I laugh so hard I have tears and I'm by myself. Oh my gosh, you crack me up.

Not to be disrespectful for the reason we are here, but I need this now and then.

I sometimes have these intense feelings of something I cant explain. Really like I want to stand up and scream something at the top of my lungs. That's usually when I go for my journal or a cough drop. ;)

I had the feeling yesterday when she was droning on. I wanted to say "liar" out loud.
I am going to try to get there in the morning. If I do, I'll be there all day.
If not, I'll watch from home. :-)

Man, I tell ya, it's the hardest work I ever did. But it made me appreciate hard work and respect anyone who does a job like that every day.

I can hate on Jodi for a lot of things, but being a waitress isn't one of them.

MOO

Try being a CNA OMG when I was in my 20's before I decided if I was gonna be in medical field I better go to Nursing school ..That was hard hard work !!

Thanks Katie Kool-aid! Hope you enjoyed your much deserved happy hour! Be careful hot rodding through the rain tomorrow to get your spot... I bet it will be packed!

My impression of this:
Nurmi: why didn't you want to tell about the sex?
Ja: because he was morman.

I believe that she meant Travis (she didn't want to throw him under the bus)

Puke.

True, jodi never said anything negative about Travis. She always protected his image.

My little doggie was asleep on my lap, and the poor guy almost fell off because I yelled and cursed her so loud when I heard her say that. How did his family keep from jumping over the table and throttling her? :furious:

I love auto-correct.

What is an 'abused ginger? ' Did Desi Arnaz really beat Luci ?

ETA: Awww...you fixed it before I hit reply.

lol - Too much JA testiphony today… Just going waaaay off track with the "abused ginger" comment. ;)

Woah. i think her finger looks deformed in pretty much all of those takes and I think it is because her tendon was sliced while she was killing Travis. But boy-oh-boy was that a creepy compilation that shows her as the sociopath that she is!

moo

Do you not agree that her "natural" relaxed state of holding her hand in NO WAY looks like the bent over finger that almost formed a 45 degree angle that she held up previously to the jury? That was just not the same finger -- her relaxed use of her hand *should* not change whether she's using her hand gestures when talking or whether she's holding it up for display.

That definitely was not the same position she was trying to prove to the jury that her finger was "permanently" formed in.

I had to pause the video several times. If I were at my other computer I'd screenshot it and attach it here to show the two photos side by side

rsbm:

we don't know because they never provide the context. (re: messages sent before and after)

I bet we will know within the next two days of trial

Flores is Mormon? I missed that, and how in the world would Jodi know that?

I have to go listen again now, cuz it'll bug me.
I misunderstood Flores was Morman at first too, but she was in fact saying she did not want to disclose negative things about TRAVIS because HE is Morman.
It was unclear when she first stated it, but when you think about it, it's clear she is talking o Flores about Travis, a Morman.

I thought so too.

I saw you pressing your lips together tightly into a thin line a few times when the camera went to Travis' family. :) There were a few other people around you doing the same thing.

  • #579
Did anyone else think it was creepy she said in ref to her suicide internal debate she said..

"It's hard to convict a dead person"..

But doesn't it seem like she's been doing this for the past 7 days?

  • #580
Jodi sniveling that she was thinking about a whole lot of things after killing Travis and whether to tell anyone. She was thinking about her family, herself, herself, herself, and herself, herself, herself, and then herself.

What was there to tell if she cannot remember the killing (murder).
How can it be self defense if she can't even:ohwow: remember how it happened.
