I would guess a lot of her ‘boyfriends’ must have ended up frustrated beyond belief with her. I hate her and her arrogance, her smugness, her warping of words and meanings - and I’m only watching from afar. I wish JM would avoid getting into a tangle with her over semantics. He may win but he might not always appear to win to the jury. She’s taunting him and it lessens his impact.

I hope JM soon switches to the murder and autopsy photographs and demands answers. Show her the horrific damage she did and watch her lose that supercilious smile. To her this is currently a game of hair-dye lies and phone fibs. I want to see her sick with fear like Travis no doubt was.

I know what you mean. But I do think the hair dye, etc. are all an essential part in establishing premeditation. We just have to be patient. I have faith that Juan knows what it's going to take. jmo

I cannot understand why she did not call 911. She could have done it from a pay phone.

Isn't it obvious? She didn't want him to be found right away and she wanted no part of being involved in his discovery. Plus 911 calls are recorded and her voice would be on one. And...she intentionally killed him and she knew he was dead 3 times over. 911 was not on her mind nor on her agenda. Her goal was to make it seem like she was never there...not make it look like it was a fight that went bad and she had to kill him.

Because she wanted him dead. She accomplished her mission that she set out to do. Now he could not repent and no other woman could have him. Same as Casey Anthony not calling 911 to report her daughter had been "missing" for a month.

I don't think the pictures bother her at all. I think she gets off on seeing her handiwork. In a big way.

ITA.

Didn't she even say in the recorded interrogations with Flores that she had a "morbid curiosity" as she rather shamelessly kept asking when she could see the crime scene pics?

Sick, sick, sick.

Watching the testimony I missed earlier. I noticed he keeps wanting her to get the car and she keeps stalling. I think it's because it was a way for her to keep communicating with him.
Once the car was picked up there would be one less reason for her to contact him.

What a nightmare she was for him.

(respectfully snipped by me)
Bumping this.

BUT-- my question is, if the pedophile allegations were inadmissible, AND Juan didn't object-- did he risk a mistrial or something? Is the judge upset about this? Was he "required" to object??)

I believe the Judge would have called the attorneys to the bench if she was angered by the inclusion (based on following other cases here on WS but I don't really know). I believe it would have been the prosecutions call to object when it came out on direct. The defense wants this type of evidence vilifying of the victim to support their case so they sure wouldn't have objected to their own witness.

Same as the magazines and journals-- surely the defense knew about these?! I cannot believe Juan wouldn't have been above board about them. And yet, it sure seemed to me that the defense team acted as though they had never heard of the journals or magazines before Juan brought them out. That was very puzzling to me. Surely they would have objected if they were not listed in discovery? Did the defense team REALLY overlook them? (That boggles the mind, as related to the journals, especially.)

)

My guess is the defense never saw the magazines because they never made it into discovery. When JA opened the door to a topic that was inadmissible, she opened the door to new discovery like the magazines. I'm inclined to think the defense had the journals all along but never referred to them 1) because the state didn't in their case in chief and 2)because they don't substantiate any of JA's recollections of abuse ...rather the opposite.

I'm just speculating. As NG would say...Time to call in the lawyers LOL!!

Brilliant move by the state it seems!!!!

Maybe he has to go at it in this fashion because he knows his subject. jmo
I agree it seemed a little too picky about the times and such, but she didn't have any trouble remembering minute details on the direct. Could that be what he is trying to show?

I don't think he has to go at it in this way; I think this is just his style and this is how he works. There are many ways to present a case and do a cross examination. Whatever way helps get the jury to the point being made is good. If the jury gets lost then that's a problem. I'm not saying this jury is getting lost, but if they are he'd need to modify his approach.

I find it really creepy and totally inappropriate that Jodi is smiling throughout her testimony about the witness tampering and stalking Bianca.

She lit up and positively glowed. JA looked like the smart sassy girl in her mug shot during that exchange. She got openly happy when she corrected Juan getting Bianca's name wrong. Skeeeeeeeeeevy.

You are totally correct.

It sure seemed to me like Nurmi was looking through those magazines like he didn't know what was up. I can't figure out how it would benefit the defense to pretend that they didn't know about the notes in the margins. They must have known they were evidence, or they would have objected to their inclusion. Can't figure that one out myself.

JM must have a witness, ie Matt, that he can call to substantiate some of his questions to JA today. Can't wait for next week:seeya::seeya:

But would JM call Matt M as a witness after he admitted he would lie for her? I don't think he would want a wild card like that on the stand JMOO.

Her journal is a tribute to herself, she no doubt thought she would be destined for greatness and enjoyed living her exploits or revising real life to what she thought it should be for her.

Did you catch the entry about what she said about Travis, the comment that sounded like 13 year old teenager. I forget the wording but she was clearly wrapped up in visions of him.

The oddest thing was after she killed Travis, she kept her journal as though she hadn't killed him. I guess she was creating her own alibi. She seems the type that reveled in the attention or sympathy she would have gotten over the loss of Travis from family and friends (she didn't get that from HIS friends or family though)

She is just so freaking nuts. She really thinks she is going to get away with this and "show" people. She seems to view the world and the people in it with contempt, as if they are too stupid and ugly to understand her life. She feels she deserves special treatment and always will. She surely will get special treatment on death row!!!

Oh SwampMama did you mean the one that went something like this...

I'm so glad no one reads my journel because I love Travis Victor Alexander so much that I don't even know any other way to be!!!! (Did the exclamation marks have hearts instead of period?)

I think the next page was her writing Mrs TVA over & over with Teddy Bear stickers & glitter hearts....

That one???

*Please note she didn't really write Mrs TVA or have stickers that's just my imagination getting lost in her world :floorlaugh:

I've heard morticians (one of them being Ask A Mortician on YouTube) and people who work with the deceased attest that the smell of human decomposition is actually quite sweet, that once you smell it you will never forget it and always recognize it but it isn't what you would assume it is.

The smell of The body of a recently deceased person is far different from a deceased person who has been dead for some time. As this is a victim friendly site, I will not draw comparisons. Suffice it to say, you need a mask.

Have worn glasses my whole life. Part of my face. Still self conscious.

You know, glasses are apparently "in". My teen daughter and I always swing by Claire's when we pass one, and there is a huge display of fashion glasses in every store. So, stand tall and know that you are a fashionista! Think of them as an accessory instead of a necessity.

Well, I'm out. Thanks to everyone for the insights, info and laughs.

I cannot understand why she did not call 911. She could have done it from a pay phone.

Because the longer it took to find him dead, the better for her. She had just stabbed him 28 times, shot him in the head, and almost decapitated him. She was not concerned for his family, friends or even Napoleon, she only cares about herself. It gave her time to get back to her normal life.

this has probably already been mentioned, but does anyone else think that who broke up with who is a hot button for her? She's very insistent that she is the one who ended her relationships.

bingo!!!!!

Napoleon was not in the bedroom during the sex, photos or murder. The gate was up keeping him from climbing the stairs and the bedroom door was shut. One of Travis' roomate's girlfriends feed Napoleon during the 5 days. They thought he was out of town.

I'm glad someone was watching out for Napoleon. I feel better he wasn't hungry for the five days. I just don't understand how they didn't notice the flies. I know they come pretty quick when death is around. Then I wonder about the smell. I don't want to be to graphic because some people have weak stomachs. I thought Travis was suppose to go out of town on the 9th? It could be he did this often and they just weren't thinking such a awful crime went on in the house.

I note that St. Jodi of Arias cannot spell "imaginations".

I also learned that for a woman with a broken, Popsicle-stick splinted finger on her writing hand, she exhibited enviable penmanship as evidence by her diary.

Maybe she had her stupid sister transcribe for her
