Overruled!

Love the way JM is goading her to take the stand.

  • #546
Uh based on what they're doing here, i would say they're not planning on putting Jodi on the stand

  • #547
Photos all in. Here we go...

I think if DT wants the shirt and underwear in, they need to prove TA had them made. IMO, JA had them made.

Took a quick lunch, missed nothing, back in time for pictures! :great:

There's something very dismissive about Nurmi's body language when Martinez is speaking. He's very laid back but to me it smacks of sheer disrespect.

I have, however, noticed much the same posturing when Willmott's up to bat. Just sayin'.

... waiting for Juan to show the BACK of the shirt and panties which, if memory serves correctly, should have the name of TA's blog, putting in context that neither of these items were ever intended to claim the person wearing them belonged to TA.

I'm on this Live feed now with good volume. I think the witness just is a low talker or his mic needs to be turned up, The lady defense attorney just need to stand at the podium instead of roaming the courtroom smiling and trying to look so cutsie... IMHO.

How do we even know that Travis had even seen that shirt?

And so what if her hair was dark earlier. The rental guy said when she showed up to rent the car she was a blonde.

imo

Dang, the defense overcame the relevance objection.

  • #555
Judge, don't you dare go to Lunch after letting the jury back in. Let's get this done.

Objection JM. Exhibit 414, picture of def with black dog, fails to see how it is relevant, unless defendant takes the stand and explain how it is helpful to her case
415, def with female with yellow top, def smiling, other person smilings fails to see the relevancy to killing
413, def with another female hair red, both smiling, no relevancy, we are here on a murder case, not to see thea the def was happy
photos created after the def killed the victim. items are irrelevant.
417 t shirt JA which said: travis' alexander, and underwear travis'
Defense states, it is relevant to show JA had brown hair in may when photos were taken.

Ojbection overuled, exhibits will be admitted into evidence. Bring jury back in. Judge Stephens.

PART 3

re: exhibit #414, photo of Jodi with a black dog. State objects based on relevance. Unless the defendant takes the stand to say how this photo is relevant the state will object.
#415, photo of the defandant with another female. Defendant and the female are smiling. State objects based on relevance.
Prejudicial photos, not relevant to the killing.
#413, Defendant and another female who are smiling, no relevance to a murder case. Not to show that the defendant is happy.
#417, T-shirt that says "Travis Alexander's" and some pink underwear with "Travis Alexanders, taken July 12, 2008, taken after the defendant killed the victim. The photos were created afterwards and it appears that the photos were created as a homage prior to the defendant being arrested.
--Wilmott says that they are photos that show the color of her hair. The photos were taken in May. Wilmott says that in the photos in question Jodi has brown hair with blonde highlights. Photos show the relevance that Jodi had brown hair prior to renting the car.
re: photo of t-shirt and underwear, it is relevant to the controlling and possessive nature of the relationship and what that does to a battered woman's defence.
--Martinez says that the fact that her hair may have been blonde in May the witness testified that when Jodi rented the car she had blonde hair. Maybe she had brown hair and then dyed it blonde when she rented the car.

--Objection overuled, the photos are admitted.

--Jury is brought back in.

OFFS - buh-bye jury. Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but why does the detective sit next to Juan. He's not an attorney or part of the prosecution team. Just seems odd to me, because I thought of him as a witness.

And where is Arias going? Potty?

This is crazy!

MOO

Mel

I had also been wondering that, don't think I've seen that before in a trial.

Did I heard the DA say pictures prove her hair was brown in May?

  • #560
Uh based on what they're doing here, i would say they're not planning on putting Jodi on the stand

but they did lay the foundation for the recordings and other pictures. Wouldn't it have to be Jodi on the stand to introduce those recordings, and possibly some other pictures?

Love reading all your posts minor! you have answered a ton of questions that I've had in my head :)
