Jodi Arias Trial discussion, #3

I don't understand why people think that Mormon girls
he dated would get treated badly. JA was met through work
and he met her and had sex with her in a week. He is not going
to put on a show for her because he is more a part of the church
than she is. He is not going to tell a girl that was raised in the church
and is just as credible in the church as he is that she should let him
put it in her butt.

The biggest flaw I see so far in this case is that there is no proof
of this stalker behavior. Travis saying it is not
enough. It needs to be someone who saw the slit tires or
saw her show up uninvited. Something that confirms it
other than just Travis said it. If they leave that open it leaves
questions. Questions equals LWOP not death. They need to say
Travis may have given her the wrong impression but he did not
hit her and she certainly wasn't threatened by him.

She crawled through the doggy door at some point to gain access to his house. That sounds pretty stalkerish.

:rolleyes:She's got her notebook ready. I don't understand why she takes notes. She knows what happened.

Most players do not admit on a blog that they are dating with the prospect of finding a wife which is what he did. His comment about hoping one of them was not a potential ax murderer is sad because he obviously knew there could have been that potential in JA. jmo

How do you figure most figures don't talk about commitment? Most guys
know that for women the end game is long term commitment. A smart man would put something like that in his blog because girls could assume she will be the one he commits to. Also, it's very important to remember he held a high
place in the church so he had to protect that.

All of that being said, I do not think he was a player and toyed with tons of women.
I think as has been said he pursued the girl he was supposed
to date while treating Jodi as a blowup doll.

jeez, bringing back memories. I havent watched a trial since Casey's.
I hope this one ends better than that one!

Was it me or did anyone else see the "look" TA sister just gave Jodi! I would be doing the same

Other Mormon girls: agree! The double standard/hypocracy is a significant part of the defense's argument. He appeared one way to the Mormon people, a different way to others (at least Jodi).

We don't know yet whether he hit her. We haven't heard any evidence yet. We have only heard his friends say he's a great guy. The defense may have something to present which shows prior violence.

Just thought of something .... Perhaps the water in the hallway wasn't an attempt to clean the scene, maybe it was to create a slip & slide effect to easily move him back to the bathroom?

Has it come out that this was witnessed by anyone? My point is he can say anything. She says he didn't lock his home. He says she crawled through the dog door. So without someone confirming either thing, stalking
isn't credible.

I feel like a loser. I've accomplished VERY LITTLE today! lol

I've done this with other trials and every time I say I won't do it, but sure enough, I do!

I just got caught up with the thread . . . (I don't get to read and follow along while pseudo-transcribing). . . . I noticed a lot of questions about Mormon baptism - just thought I could answer some of those questions.

1) Travis did baptise Jodi - he is and "elder" in the church (I believe) which means he has been through at least some portions of the temple and I would venture to guess he had been on a 2 year mission previously in his life. Essentially Men who have moved up to that position in the church (usually age 18ish or older) receive a "calling" and then attempt to proselitize to get more members. They (Men - Elders) can baptise new converts. From the pics - only Jodi & Travis are wearing baptismal garments.

2) It is a full body dunking

3) Once baptised mormon you are mormon for time and eternity. Even if you don't go to church for many years - you are still mormon. That is the focus of "baptism for the dead". Mormons believe that everyone (living or dead) needs to be baptised Mormon in order to get to heaven. The LDS church was sued by Jewish people (not too long ago) for baptising their ancestors (the dead) when they didn't believe in Christianity in life.

4) The only way you can be Not Mormon anymore is if you are "excommunicated". Excommunicated is being "disowned" by the LDS church - and you would have to start over with repentance and teachings and baptism .

5) Being "disfellowshipped" means you are still mormon but cannot hold "priesthood" callings (ie: - you would be considered just a member like a woman or a child) but can't perform baptisms - can't go through the temple etc. *It should be noted - some women are missionaries and some hold "pseudo-callings" in the church like "Relief Society President" - which is President for a group for women; or Primary Teacher (a sunday school teacher for the children) etc.
