Was it known prior to the trial that the story would change to Tale #3 of "Yes I did it but it was self defense"? (Tale #1 - "I wasn't there, it wasn't me", Tale #2 - "Ok, I was there but I saw two Ninjas do it".) If so, when did Tale #3 come out? Was it in the early stages of investigation? Or in one of her jail press conferences with the media? How and when did Tale #3 become known?

IIRC her defense went from ninjas to self defense in 2010 - after she was already charged w/ murder 1 - imo

So on that former cell mate's FB page, she wrote that Jodi was super sweet, she serenaded her neighbors to sleep every night.

Those poor neighbors, can you imagine trying to sleep with creepy JA singing lullabies? OMG, SOME of them had to know how crazy JA is! Nightmares for life.

LMAO!!!! Real Talk!!! haha!! "N4L" (nightmares for life!!)

Hi Websleuthers!

I attended the trial today and made a few observations, even though it was a short day that you guys might be interested in.
The courtroom is huge. The multi media in there is crazy...it almost feels like a sports bar as there are screens EVERYWHERE. Including facing the gallery and the screen for the jurors to view is across the room from them and the size of a small movie theatre screen. I can only imagine those horrific crime scene photos shown on that huge screen. :(

I was taken to a seat right behind Travis' family. His sisters both smiled at me and are much more beautiful in person than on TV. I sat for part of the time with their victim's advocate who was very friendly and we talked quite a bit about the trial.

Jodi was talking for a bit while some of the interrogation video was showing w/ her attorney smiling and semi giggling. WEIRD

When they aren't in their chairs the height of those chairs is so obvious...Jodi's is WAY lower than her attorney's. Not sure the jury can see that but it's so obvious.

She is more slender in person and was wearing super baggy ill fitting brown pants today and ugly flat black shoes. She walks with a limp apparently has the ankle restraints on the whole time she's in court. She was definitely writing notes and not drawing on the page.

At the end of the day when she walked out she turned around and VERY briefly acknowledged her mother but not in a warm loving way..that same vacant detached expression she always has. It's eerie and reminds me of the feeling I had when I saw Scott Peterson in person. There is an alien quality to these people. I guess that's definitive of sociopathy.

I had a little conversation with Juan Martinez outside the courtroom as we ended up by the elevators alone and I'd just been to a party over the weekend with a mutual friend so I struck up a little conversation. Iwas surprised at how warm and approachable he was. Very friendly.

I got to hang out a bit with Beth Karas (I also know her from the Peterson trial...she remembered me!). She's always just so welcoming and friendly as well. I'm going to invite her out to dinner while she's here as she gave me her contact info. She's just a doll.

Oh, the jury. They are all very attentive. I looked several times and ALL the women were taking notes. There are a couple of quite elderly men on the jury. One looks to be in his 80's. I think 3-4 men look under 40ish. I never saw any of them looking at Jodi.

I think that's about it. It's not hard to get in there...they said there's never a waiting list which is surprising kinda.

I'm gonna go back next Wed I think unless something conflicts. I'll report back again if anything interesting occurs that's not shown on TV. :seeya:

You know, it is really difficult to decipher exactly what she says. I can't tell if she says "would" or "wouldn't" (be going with him). I hear "would-ee". I hear "...because we had both known about the Cancun trip for over a year and never once was it discussed that I would-ee be going with him."

Here is a link that starts at the 47 minute mark:

LOL I'm just a member of Joe Public who happens to live in the area (and be self employed so I can schedule days off). I've been interested in this trial since I first saw the 48 hrs episode years ago. What a CREEP this chick is. I posted elsewhere it's like one of those freaky movies (that I can't watch) where the evil killer is an innocent looking child. She's like that to me. Freak of nature!

BBM: Can you tell how the jury is responding to the prosecutor? On TV, he comes off as a little abrasive...

Thanks!

I think I hear her say "...would be going" but the corners of her mouth move like she's saying "wouldn't". I also muted the sound and watched her say the word...much more pleasant

Aww thanks cherish. That was so many years ago. I haven't really gotten too in to many trials since then but this one has grabbed me...at least partly because it's in my back yard. I remembered you'd get kicked out of the courtroom at Peterson if you chewed gum! I was all nervous I'd do something wrong today in court but this one is WAY more lenient (you can even drink water in there lol).

Thanks!

I thought he came across kind of abrasive too with his own witness but it's obviously his "schtick". All I can say is the jury was VERY attentive...all day. I found it interesting that every single one of the women took notes throughout each witness.

What were the men doing? Notes never forget! Also, were you able to see which jurors asking which questions? Thanks!

  • #1,659
I was mainly studying the jury to see if I could identify any of the males who I thought might seem vulnerable to her powers of persuasion (it happens). But all I did was wish I had Hal Lightman sitting there next to me. I can't understand a damn thing about men anyway so what was I thinking? :what:
