Jonbenet Ramsey garrotte

The garrotte was made of olefin according to the forensic report dated November 7, 2007. Why is there confusion regarding the type of cord used, as in most people think it was made of nylon? There is also no mention of red fibres being intertwined into the knots. Does anyone know if there are any official forensic documents that corroborate that the red fibres were in the knots?

I do not know of any official forensic documents publicly available regarding the Patsy's red fibers found in the knots. I have read random posts found online that say that it is considered to be a myth, but James Kolar has written in his book page 228:

"Trujillo advised me that lab technicians had identified eight different types of fibers on the sticky side of the duct tape that covered Jon Benet's mouth, They included red acrylic, gray acrylic and red polyester fibers that were subsequently and chemically consistent to each other, as well as to fibers taken from Patsy Ramsey's Essentials jacket.

Further, fibers from this jacket were also matched to trace fibers collected from the wrist ligature, neck ligature and vacuumed evidence from the paint tray and wine cellar floor."

When Lyn wood asked for the proof patsy's fibres were found in the ligatures, the police couldn’t or wouldn’t provide anything. In the above mentioned report dated November 7, 2007 it says when John took the tape off jonbenets mouth, he placed it on the white blanket and then fleet white entered the room and picked up the tape off the blanket and placed it back on the blanket. The white blanket was also on jonbenets bed that night according to police reports, so it could be possible the fibres from patsy's sweater got on the blanket and jonbenet when she changed jonbenet into her pyjamas and tucked her into bed. It’s very perplexing.
