First hispanic lawyer to have a case of this magnitude.

Sounds like he thinks he's a roll model for hispanic defese attornies?

Nothing about the discovery, you'll find out what he thinks at trial.

COV - very shortly. Not disclosing where they want to move to. The defese won't disclose it. He wants it kept secret so "justice can work".

I am guessing he will be going for Miami.

I've heard he should pick a venue where that is unfavorable towards law enforcement. Does anyone here from Florida know if that applies to Miami?

Oh wait, we're not supposed to be worried about that if we are focused on justice. GADS!

Just watched primetime news on HLN and along with the news conference they had an extensive discussion on Baez. I found it very interesting. Mark I, an attorney said that a friend of his is on KC's defense team, and that friend sent him photo's that were attached to a brief. Mark I wanted to make the photo's public, but was told by "someone" that if he released them he would be sued. The reason for that is that the photo's are slated to be sold after the trial. I think HLN repeats the show at the top of the hour, so some here might want to catch it. One of the better shows I've seen in a while.

We were posting at the same time. :)

I just tivo'd part of the show, so I have all the TH's comments about Baez saved for later if anyone misses it. His show is 2 hrs long so I don't think it repeats, and I don't know if they do a transcript.

I think Miami is TOO obvious

Yeah - jam that baby right into an urban area in Miami!!!! That would be huge. imo

This case is already being called "The Trial of the Century".

I guess we know where JB is trying to get change of venue....a low income 100% hispanic pop? Maybe he thinks they will route for him because he's Hispanic, hence his remark about being the ONLY hispanic attorney, hence his univision interview. Also, he may think that's a place where they may not trust the police too much. I dunno jmo

Ummm...yes, it repeats.

He sounds more concerned about saving face in the Hispanic community! He will take 3 questions from 3 specific reporters. First one, HISPANIC!! All in Spanish. Mike Galanos has left the scene, his panel says..."This is not about you Jose!!" YAY!

I don't think he is being very discrete about where he wants to go.

Ahem.

But what he'll get will be Jacksonville, Daytona Beach or Ft Myers - my money is on Ft Myers - Miami will be argued as too much of a hardship and too much money - Miami ain't cheap

And the judge allowed the defense team the ability to create a website that was secure for the rest of the defense to see the autopsy photos. Geeeee, those wont be sold either I bet!!!!!
Disgusting........:furious::furious::furious::furious:

Baez needs to stop getting air time ..
NOW!

ITA. And I believe he was egging the media on. All he accomplished was getting more derision thrown his way. Now the TH are all atwitter. And he insulted the entire Hispanic jury pool to boot. Way to go!

  • #155
The jury pool may not like the fact that a swf accused one ZFG of kidnapping her child.

I AGREE but...who knows with Baez.....:bang:

Well, in that case he may have a point with Miami. The Cuban community has been distrustful of LE. I'm guessing it goes back to how they feel about Castro and the government. When I lived there it was very insular (I'm sure it still is) and they prefer to really be on their own. The 2nd/3rd generation Cubans who grew up here and didn't flee from Castro/arrive with the boat lift are changing the community makeup. However, they have an uphill battle with the ZFG frame up, any of the A's real or perceived bias against Latinos, etc.

  • #158
YES! That has to be it. Let me tell you, I am not hispanic but the hispanic people I know are buying this crap either. They don't like that KC threw a hispanic woman ZFG under the bus! If this is JB's tactic he better think 2X because the prosecution will play up how KC has hurt ZFG and hispanics with her baseless accusations!
LOL...you are 100% right about this! Maybe he thinks the large Cuban population in Miami won't notice.

He didn't insult. He sent a message my friend. This is showing all the hallmarks of 'going' political.
