Well, in that case he may have a point with Miami. The Cuban community has been distrustful of LE. I'm guessing it goes back to how they feel about Castro and the government. When I lived there it was very insular (I'm sure it still is) and they prefer to really be on their own. The 2nd/3rd generation Cubans who grew up here and didn't flee from Castro/arrive with the boat lift are changing the community makeup. However, they have an uphill battle with the ZFG frame up, any of the A's real or perceived bias against Latinos, etc.

We are talking about a baby killer here - one with little to no empathy - and when they hear the evidence of partying and pole dancing while supposedly she is a grieving mother searching for her kidnapped child - um I don't think it will be good anywhere she goes for the trial -Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa or wherever - AND your right blaming a latino for the kidnapping and murder? Um harder time

EXACTLY - if he doesn't want to be accused of being "too personal" with his client - then WHY O WHY did he CONTINUE to HUG on her even after he was warned. I do think that this PC had a lot to do with this one complaint.

Yes, Univision and Telemundo are spanish networks and channels - immensely popular down here.

Hmmm, wonder if that's directed at the A's. I strongly feel he is the reason behind the no visits, not that they don't want to visit but that Baez won't let them.

And that's the 2nd reason I think he had this PC - the A's are now the enemy. Not only do we have GA on record saying he doesn't like him - he has control over Caylee and doesn't want to seem to give that up or see her properly laid to rest. And we don't know what his defense is ACTUALLY going to be :furious:

This is strange because I kinda ruled out Miami - BECAUSE of the HISPANIC population - after all KC is throwing an innocent HISPANIC woman under the bus - unless ole JB has an ACE up his sleeve and the ole ZG nanny story is no longer a part of this case at all. If he decides to go after the A's - like another poster said - hispanics are VERY FAMILY oriented and if he can paint a picture of CA like we have seen - well then they might be really apt to turn the other cheek - KWIM?

On one of the shows in the past week (please don't ask me which one) they put up a map of Florida when talking about Change of Venue. Miami-Dade AND Broward were both left off - Hollywood however was there. I found that very odd. Hollywood is a city just south of Ft Lauderdale and north of Miami. It is in Broward County and conducts all court business out of the Broward Courthouse - so why not put up Broward? You can't have a trial (ANY KIND and especially one of this magnitude) in Hollywood. There is a satellite courthouse in Hollywood - but it is still in Broward County under the 9th (I think - might be 7th) Judicial Circuit. Weird.

The first investigation is about inappropriate advertising and the other about Baez and his dealings with press corps media, the company owned by Todd Black. Both were filed as sworn complaints by someone.

The Florida Bar did say that a grievance committee met last week on the inappropriate advertising complaint and they should be wrapped up with in a week or two.




Two investigations. Maybe that is why Baez resorted to the race card today? Looks like something is coming in the next week.

1. I know several latino attorneys who are excellent and have had higher profile cases.

2. latinos are VERY family oriented and are in disbelief about this mother killing a child.

3. They are disgusted that Casey choose to use a latina woman as the scapegoat.

Can't wait to see the interview on univision he was about to do.

It's all about the hispanic pride now, is it? How loyal he must be, especially since his client has accused one of his own (also of hispanic origin ZFG) of kidnapping her daughter. Yeah, his loyalty is in the right place, is it not?
