Lawyers for JD are interviewing child witnesses in child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 case, in closed court to protect them.

The article is interesting.

“Protective Order Concerning Child Victim and Witness Privacy was filed on June 11.” This was done to “The parties requested the order to “avoid information that identifies or could be used to identify a child victim or witness.”
The statements and all information is being well guarded.

Josh's child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 case lawyers to interview 'child witnesses in closed court'
This was a clickbait article, because it implies there are child witnesses, but the court filings are standard and indicate IF there are any child witnesses, the information would be handled in this manner.

<modsnip quoted post>

I think all TristanP was saying was that while the article was true, it was just standard phrasing and not an indication of witnesses who were minors.

The affidavit didn't give any indication that there would witnesses to Josh's behaviour on the internet who were minors.

Former "19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar has requested a federal court to move his child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 trial from this July to next year, Fox News has learned.

In federal court records filed on Thursday, Duggar's legal team asks the court to "continue the trial in this case from the current setting of July 6, 2021."

"Specifically, Duggar requests that this Court set a trial date in this case in or after February 2022," the filing continues.
...
The defense has retained an independent computer forensic expert who must conduct a computer forensic examination of each of the devices at issue – a time consuming process that requires review at a government facility for the one device the Government alleges contained child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬."
...
"Remarkably, the Government also recently disclosed – for the first time and only by way of a screenshot of an unidentified database – that the two other Arkansas state law enforcement agencies allegedly participated in this investigation at least in a minimal capacity. The search warrant applications make no reference to these agencies, the Special Agent's testimony at the detention hearing made no mention of these agencies, and the remainder of the discovery does not reveal which agencies participated an what, if anything, these agencies did," the filing states.

Thanks for posting that here.

I think that's ridiculous. Is he going to stay at that couple's house until next year? Hope they don't mind!

And if he gets off on a technicality, that would be awful. I don't think it would even be good for Josh as it would always be hanging over his head, and if he's guilty of it he definitely needs the proper treatment.

February 2022? I wonder if the Rebers are ready for Josh Duggar to be an extended house guest...on and on...

  • #227
Why did his lawyer wait so long to file the request?

  • #228
I don’t think the request is asking for anymore than most defendants do. JMO

I do think it’s a lot to ask of the third party couple.

  • #229
Nothing unusual about the request IMO. Probably won’t be the first. That’s got to be a lot of wear on his own family and his host family though.

Can Josh Duggar manage to avoid violating his conditions of release during an extended period of time?

It is a lot to ask of the host family, and I'm willing to bet that no one explained to the wife in that family that court cases are often delayed and resolution of a case usually takes a long time. Speculation only, of course.

It will be impossible for him. Duggars seem to think that if you procrastinate long enough people will forget negative things. Josh is in Big Boy Trouble now, and I’m certain they’re watching him carefully. I would be willing to bet he’s already been given a secret smart phone.

Interesting. The family would have to post a "Do Not Trick or Treat" at this home sign. So Josh won't violate his Parole status to not be around any children.

I don't know the family or their situation, but February, 2022, is EIGHT months from now. Who would want Josh Duggar for that long?! I am sure that this family was "okay" until July, 2021...but not ready for a protracted legal process.

Should have known that there were going to be stall tactics...after all, when the client is "guilty" that is all there is, stall, look for some small errors in the search warrant to get the entire case thrown out on a technicality.

Anyway, due to laws regarding boarders/renters whatever....unless Josh Duggar volunteers to find a new place, this family may be on "lock down" with him...no children can come over to the house at all. Ugh.

You're right, and I am concerned for the "host" family.

Are the Duggars replacing the lost income of the piano teacher? Students may be unwilling to pay for ZOOM lessons while in-person instruction is available elsewhere.

To be fair, I don’t think much of anything was explained to the *wife*. She wasn’t even clear on the nature of the charges, if I remember the probation officer’s testimony. The wife was clear that she was in court to support her husband’s decision. 8+ months is a long time for her to be stuck at home with Josh.

I believe I read that arrangements had been made for piano lessons to continue, just not located at the house.

That was my point. :)

Josh Duggar child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 case: 'no valid reason,' for 6-month trial delay, says U.S. Attorney (nwahomepage.com)

Prosecutors say they’re ok with a 3mo delay, putting us in late September. Add in a few, small, misc delays and trial would be around Halloween/Thanksgiving. I imagine many jurors would be thinking about their own small nieces, grandkids, etc. I wonder if Josh will request a non-jury trial, or if the 6mo request was, in part, to get him past the warm fuzziness of Christmas. Child sexual abuse is bad all times of year, of course, but stands in particularly stark contrast to pumpkin pie and Santa.
