That's assuming Josh needs to.

IME, depending of course upon what one's bank uses, you can buy something from eBay and it will say the name of the store and some internal string of gobbledegook; but it won't give any hint as to what you bought.

Other secondhand markets may do the same type of thing, naming the store not the item.

This also assumes that Anna will look into or care about such a purchase; and that Josh is wedded to an expensive desktop for pursuing his perversions. If he opts for something like a Kindle Fire from a secondhand dealer, he could easily spend less than $100 on a second device.

correct. I meant more along the lines of her physically noticing a new laptop/tablet/whatever; it’s easier to just set up a partition on an existing device instead of buying a new one.

Right, federal court allows people to go home after conviction, and arranges when the convict will go to prison. I hate that. I wish it was like state court, conviction, straight to prison.

I do see Josh as a huge potential flight risk.

Quick morning break in Josh Duggar child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 trial. DOJ's James Fottrell still on the stand. Computer forensic evidence includes a backup of Josh Duggar's personal iPhone, which Fottrell used to place that phone at Duggar's car lot at exact time illegal material was accessed.

Very nice! Not such an old fashioned “whodunnit”, is it!

Homeland Security agent takes the stand in Josh Duggar trial: LIVE UPDATES

Reading things again and a little more carefully. In this article, it appears the defense may bring up the possibility of remote access. Does anyone know if the partition and browser on the office computer would hinder or make it easier for a hacker? JMO/MOO

Prosecutors showed jurors screenshots of what Fottrell would have viewed as he examined Duggar’s desktop. On the Microsoft Windows side (which he used for his business) of the HP computer, Fottrell found files involving the setup of the Linux partition.

This also signified that someone had to be behind the keyboard. It’s “impossible” for anyone to use the Microsoft and Linux sides of the computer simultaneously, Fottrell said, and someone would need to process the installation tools and then be “physically present” to select which side of the computer to boot up once it's installed.

Josh Duggar Trial: Experts Testify About Alleged Internet Use

There may be ways around this but in my experience, you have to manually select which partition you want to boot into when you first boot up the computer. I have a Linux partition on one of my computers that I use for tinkering with Raspberry Pi devices (tiny computers) and if I want to get into the Linux partition, I reboot my computer and select Linux when the screen comes up asking which partition I want to boot into.

(In my case I was partitioning a Macbook though, to run Windows in addition to the Apple programmes and I used Parallels which I did have to pay for. I am not techie so I don’t know if it is possible to do that yourself for free (Install Windows on Mac)
Snipped for focus

You'd have to own Windows, so there'd be a cost right there.
I knew how to partition a drive in the 1980's when even then there was a Utility app to do it (it came with the Mac), so if Josh's defense team wants to make everyone believe he couldn't partition a hard drive in 2019.....o_O The jury will think that laughable: a good percentage of them have likely done so themselves.

Gotta say @RickshawFan that if Mickey can do a partition, anyone can do it.

Josh Duggar went SHOPPING & took a selfie with wife Anna just HOURS after ‘downloading child sex abuse material’ (thesun.co.uk)
JOSH Duggar went shopping with his wife, Anna and made sure to snap a selfie of their outing just hours after "downloading child sex abuse material" on his work computer.

The former Counting On star's alleged text messages have provided proof that he was at the car lot the day the child sex abuse material was downloaded.
According to text messages uncovered in the ongoing court case, the disgraced reality star left his car dealership for a trip to Lowes hardware store around 8:14 pm on May 14, 2019, despite a mass of illegal files being downloaded to his work computer.

According to an on-site reporter for The Sun, the couple headed to the store to shop for "doors," as a photo was snapped of Anna looking through options.

Afterward, the couple took a selfie together as they enjoyed their door browsing.
PHONE EVIDENCE
The TV personality's phone was examined in Friday's trial, as incriminating text messages have been presented as evidence in the case.

While going through various dates in court on Friday, alleged texts from Josh’s phone, as well as photos taken on the device, were shown to take place at the same time that child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 content was supposedly being downloaded elsewhere.

The alleged texts discussed cars and some included photos from the lot, according to The Sun reporter at the trial.

Prosecution: Password Josh Duggar Used for Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Previously Used for Duggar Family Instagram

Why are the charges for downloads over three days only. Do they only have evidence of three days? I find it odd someone would limit themselves to three days. JMO/MOO

“Fottrell said "Daisy's Destruction" was notorious: It includes an infant being tortured and was among the "most offensive" he had seen in his career. (At the request of the defense, the judge ordered the jury to disregard that characterization because it was a subjective opinion, not a fact.)”

Josh Duggar child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 trial will include testimony from siblings Jill & Jed

Full summary of Day Three, or is this Day Two? Are we counting the day JB Duggar was "not" testifying.

Lot of discussion about computer stuff, quite technical, but I could follow it. The most significant testimony today was regarding correlation of downloads of CSAM, at the same time Josh Duggar used his phone. The use of texting, time and date stamps Josh at the car lot, using his phone.

However he also found logs on the iPhone11 indicating that Duggar regularly watched adult 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, despite he and his wife having signed up to an online monitoring service named Covenant Eyes which was supposed to block his access to any online material classified as 'mature teen' and above.

In fact, Duggar had watched adult 🤬🤬🤬🤬 for ten minutes just hours before his arrest in November 2019, the court was told.

Asked by the prosecution which individual he felt had downloaded child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the office PC, based on his analysis and two decades of years of FBI experience, Fottrell told the courtroom in a clear voice: 'Joshua Duggar.'

I'm thinking that is all they have evidence for. It would be interesting to know what other behaviors he engaged in between 2005-2021. JMO.

I think that the defense continues to hammer that anyone knew the passwords. Trying to create reasonable doubt.

MOO, is that doesn't negate the time and date stamp of Josh Duggar being at the car lot at the same time CSAM was downloading on his computer at the car lot.

The day with Jim Bob testifying was a pre-trial evidentiary hearing so I think trial day two?

ETA: ah, I see what you did there. “Testifying” indeed.

Ewww I did not need to know that, but I am thankful it was not more csam.
I have to wonder how and why he did not plea out. He’s sure to be found guilty IMO. He was there at the time of the download. 100% beyond a reasonable doubt. IMO. Can he be that arrogant or removed from reality?
