We know that JD used his cr crd to pay for the Ashley Maddison membership for married people who want to cheat on their spouses. Not so sure we've seen evidence that he purchased CSAM with his cr crd.

I thought I read that somewhere. But aside from that, the rest is mind boggling. If you are going to go to the lengths to find this type of material, spend the time to learn how to mask your IP. And other means to lose your identity.

He used a separate, partitioned hard drive, went through the dark web -so it's assumed he hid his IP with a VPN - but... through his arrogance, he completely missed the well known fact that anti-CSAM LE teams from around the world work together to infiltrate the groups running these sites, often taking them over when the leaders are arrested. Patriarch Jim Bob always got him off before, so why would he have anything to fear?

I sort of love the fact that attorneys want and get cash upfront for services. No credit. No cash, no service.

Josh Duggar hired new to him attorney to help represent him. This lawyer is an associate with the current law firm now representing him.

“In court papers obtained by The Sun, Josh requested associate attorney Ian T. Murphy of Margulis Gelfand, LLC, which is the law firm currently defending him, participate as co-counsel.

A judge granted Josh’s request on Monday.”

Josh has not accepted a plea deal but here is quote from article

“If Josh files a change of plea after October 18, it will be considered an “open plea,” meaning he will plead guilty without the benefit of a plea agreement.

The court, however, could grant an exception if they are able to show good cause up to 10 days before trial.”


And so we wait to see what happens.

The Prosecution said according to the defense the government is to “be prohibited from speaking with its own witnesses during trial….the Government asks this Court to deny the defendant’s request.” The defense does not have to do this, just the Prosecution

Judge has not made a decision on this yet.

Yup. The headline made it sound like some last-minute strategic shift and changing counsel almost always involves a delay (the defendants in the deaths of Carolyn Byington and Gannon Stauch, for example). Low-level associates often don’t see their names on the motions that they write, but their name has to be on the record to appear in court.* We’re not privy to the billing records, but my educated guess is that this associate has billed the most hours. JMO.

* Allowing a new lawyer to have their name on motions that they wrote is/was a perk at some firms IMO.

Shamrock and LaborDay RN in the second paragraph it states the attorney is from the current lawyers firm, but the new lawyer is a new hire for the case and has to be approved by the Judge. He may have a specialty we don’t know of, or the other lawyer has too many cases….it can be any reason another attorney is brought into this case. He may have been working on the case all along!

On Wednesday, Judge Timothy L. Brooks ruled on a host of motions filed by both sides in the upcoming Josh Duggar child pornography trial.

A pretrial hearing will be held in the Western District Court of Arkansas, Fayetteville Division, at 9:00 a.m. November 18.

In the November 17 court document, Judge Brooks ruled on seven different motions filed earlier this month by the defense and the prosecution.

Josh Duggar Child Porn Case: Prosecution Reportedly Seeks to Call Dad Jim Bob as a Witness (yahoo.com)

appeared in federal court Thursday for the pre-trial hearing in his child sexual abuse material case — during which the prosecution revealed that one of their proposed witnesses is his father, Jim Bob Duggar.

Josh, 33, has been charged with receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. He pleaded not guilty following an April arrest and was released pending his trial, set to begin on Nov. 30.

On Thursday, Judge Timothy L. Brooks ordered an evidentiary hearing with witnesses to be held one day before the trial, on Nov. 29, local news outlet KNWA reported.

The decision for an evidentiary hearing came about due to a dispute over the prosecution's notice that they may introduce evidence regarding Josh's past molestation scandal. In 2015, news broke that Josh had allegedly molested five underage girls as a teenager. Two of his sisters, Jill (Duggar) Dillard, now 30, and Jessa (Duggar) Seewald, now 29, later came forward as two of the victims.

The defense filed a motion to exclude any evidence regarding the scandal earlier this month. According to KNWA, during Thursday's hearing, one of Josh's lawyers, Justin Gelfand, said he "disagrees adamantly" with the prosecution's notice about the molestation scandal and their plan to call on two witnesses, one of whom is Jim Bob.

Josh is the eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children, who were previously featured on TLC's 19 Kids and Counting. Following Josh's arrest earlier this year, the couple issued a statement saying: "It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light, and that this will all be resolved in a timely manner. We love Josh and Anna and continue to pray for their family."
