Oh dear! To me this implies pictures of the boys, and probably Susan too, but the boys. Could be nothing but cute nude pictures, but if they were in inappropriate positions, oh no...

Yep that is what I inferred as well 21merc7.

The pics were inappropriate enough for the judge to order the psychosexual exam and delay the children being returned to him. I don't even want to speculate the content.

BTW, IIRC I read somewhere that JP wouldn't allow Susan to use the home computer. Does anyone else remember this? If true, then I guess we know why.

Perhaps that was one part of his mind that was asking someone to stop him before he finished. Just the emails were out too late for anyone to stop him.

That helps me because I haven't followed this case very closely. Now I have a question-I gather from the information released on the custody hearing custody cases are open to the public in Washington? I read the affidavits linked in a post earlier but assumed they were released due to the deaths but I see this article is from before the deaths. I just assumed custody cases were always closed to the public, this is the first time I can recall a custody hearing being public. (except for reading Haleigh Cummings and her brother's custody documents, but that is Florida with their lax public information laws)

I would find life a far harder struggle if I had to force myself to believe a higher power allowed this to happen as part of some grand scheme. I find a lot more comfort knowing people like JP are genetic mistakes, random mutations. I would be horrified to have to live in a scheme in which JP and SP were created deliberately by some higher power as part of some master plan. No thank you. What a terrifying world this would be if that were true.

A more terrifying world than one in which little boys are hit with an axe then blown or burned up, after their mother was murdered? I cannot conceive of a worse place to live than that - suicide would be tantamount to heaven in that case.

I assume their were reporters at the hearing last week because our lovely octobermoon posted all the tweets for us. They begin with post # 1330 on this thread. Maybe someone can chime in wrt your question in WA as I am not familiar with WA laws.

There reporting it as 5minutes after the boys ran inside.. With 1neighbor saying it was only 3minutes from that point that the home was engulfed in flames... It is that which leads me to believe that 3-5mins is no way, no how enough time to spread 10gallons of gasoline on top of what he did to the boys.. And that the sw upon reaching the door immediately smelled the gasoline..

We'll know more about the actual and accurate time frame and at that point it will be alot more clear of what was or wasn't done prepping immediately preceding the 12:30 arrival of the boys for their scheduled visitation... No MATTER when it was done IT WAS PURE, AND UNADULTERATED EVIL!!

I don't think his mental illness started in just the past few years, but that's just my opinion. Evil like this doesn't just happen overnight, it is there from the start and slowly builds until it overcomes the person. He may have been clever and cunning enough to hide it from the rest of the world, even Susan, for a time, but I'm sure there were signs before she died.
It is horrifying to learn the latest details of how the boys died. I'm sure that the devastation we feel is merely a drop in a bucket compared to what the Coxes feel, and all those who knew and loved them. I can't even visualize this act of cruelty, don't even want to go there, realizing how terrified they must have been. What a sorry excuse for a man and a father! What a coward! Not even God can forgive him.

Yes. A worse place is a world in which that neck chopping and burning alive was sanctioned from on high. A world in which that pain was created deliberately by a higher power.

Can you imagine being the doctor who performed a psych evaluation on this monster and said yeah, I've seen a lot of improvements?

IMO those kids should of never ever been allowed any visitation but if a judge feels or see's fit to order visitation it should of been at CPS where it is recorded and one reason is to have no conversation to coach the children, any gestures.. ANYTHING that would compromise the case or intimadate the children.. with that being said the social worker assigned to the home visits is NOT qualified to judge those type of behavior.. she is there to make sure nothing odd goes on and sends her report.. the visitation centers at or through CPS have trained persons that SPECIALIZE in this.. more training than a dfc/social worker.

I know this statement above because I have done extensive research in my state statutes as to proper way to treat a issue of potential abuse of any type... specifically when there is a pending or open case of a matter of sexual abuse or murder. Florida statutes is my research.

Next subject physo-sexual exam.. it consist of many, many personality test..risk factors of sexual or physical abuse, it has scales of if the party is being honest.. I know this due to I have a 10 page report on my x.If JP was ordered to take the test and believe me if there is ANYTHING even personality wise it will be revealed it is almost impossible to outsmart the testing... my x his test came back that he was not a risk to abuse sexually in general.. however that he was to retake the test with strict instructions to be honest on all questions.. it revealed he has a narcisstic personality, control issues, refused to admitt even minor flaws.. I must say that if he were to have taken that test it would of produced a devistating effect on his custody.

I am going through similar and my home is in foreclosure due to attoney fees to keep my kids safe.. and know what if it comes down to a court order of ANY visitation of any type.. well they will have to hold me in contempt.. my kids will NOT go even supervised .. not anywhere at anytime.

sorry for the long post but this case gets to me.. i see this behavior in my x... it is to spite me and my family.. he has to win, control and he is determinded to have a judge say... ohhhh mr. you have a right to see your kids.. blah blah.. lucky i saved any documentation and state attorney had case at one point.. just my story on the family court system.. it is not fair in alot of cases.. once those kids were ordered to the cox family.. all visitation should of been halted at once.. pending the exam.. period.. commen sence... ohhhh family court is like russion roulette.. sometime you win sometime you loose.. just the mood of the judge that day...

sexological testing info and all the test that are used or can be... in our case at least 10 test were used.. and it is so hard to fake it.. per my attorney.. those trianed in that field can find something on anyone...

these test go along with several personaltiy testing that ask questions over and over in different ways... and it is very very hard to lie...and not be revealed...

I believe that the test show SOME posative and it has to point out negative also.. it is a long test that takes hours.. in my case it had decent points on my x but it also has many red flags... with JP personality... believe me that test most certainly had some flags...i would be interested in reading the entire summary... in my x case it was 10 pages and at the end required a poly... that is when my x eased off the case...

Dont put too much in the impovement.. perhaps that is cause the perv father was gone... but there is more to that report than we know.. and since it is medical and hippa laws we may not know.. fourtunalty i was provided with a copy because of open case of myself trying to cease any visitaton at al.. hard to take parental rights.. but there is a such thing as suspending visitation of ANY type temporty and/permanent.. and per my attorney temporary can mean for years.... they could of gotten this guy.. he knew it.. but they dropped the ball.. no visitation should of been ordered of under CPS official center where it is taped and TRAINED specialist sitting in the entire time or behind closed glass to see and hear it all...no hugs are allowed, no wispering, no question about mom or family... very limited...

Those sweet, innocent boys saw who J.really was in those moments. I think this is one of the worst stories I've ever heard.

I never bought his continuous slack-jawed, blank faced, help me, feed me, feel sorry for me act. However, the boundless depths of his depravity continues to shock me.

Has the adult body in the house been positively identified as Josh Powell? Because I would not put it past this absolute waste of human flesh to kill someone else, and put their body in the house and escape out the back -- one adult + two kids = everyone assuming that he died in the fire too. (If anyone has already asked/answer, I apologize for repeating...I have had limited time to go through all the posts.....)
