I think if I were a member of her family, I would rest in whatever the ultimate decision of the jury is. It’s understandable to have mixed feelings about the DP. No need to carry the weight of it personally when there are 12 people to do that for me. I would just tell myself that I’m going to accept their decision either way.

I know, but if only the convicted would slink away and not be in the face of the victim's family, keep trying for appeals, get in the news, make statements to budding authors, sue a member of the prosecution, or some other antic. I hope to never hear about Mark again, but from all the cases I've followed the convicted always find a way to make the news. Like when will Chris Watts fade into the walls of his cell? Manson sure didn't. Jodi Arias is still starting trouble. Chris Coleman appealing. And on and on. It's JMO...they don't go away.

I wish more than anything Teresa's children, her Family, and Friends feel they got some Justice and that they get peace.

Medicated?
He drank sips as he was standing...started writing, shuffling papers when the judge was discussing the read back.
I would think just acting numb or act like in a trance would serve him better.
He never comes off humble or remorseful IMO.

I agree, it’s sad that the family doesn’t reach a point of him being really gone. And unless he hangs himself, that won’t happen with a LWOP verdict or a verdict for death. Either way, he is going to use the appeals process and keep telling himself that he will prevail because he is the smartest guy in the room (I’m going to destroy this computer! I’m going to play dumb with my kids’ guardian like I forgot we had insurance! Bwa ha ha!)

Exactly.

Plus, they have custody of the girls. I highly doubt they want to go back and tell those girls who have already lost their mother that their father has been sentenced to death. What a horrid dilemma. God bless those girls!
When the girls are older, they will understand individuals cant control other ppl's actions or decisions re what verdict is decided. The maternal side have been champs in re to making sure the girls are taken care of physically and emotionally with the help of professionals. Kids are more resilient when they have a healthy home environment and the girls presently do with the maternal side, JMO.

I would believe MS has an attention deficient problem. His expressions change so rapidly even when he's trying his darnest to put on the correct facial expression. Court TV has done short closeups of this. It's funny, he can't put on a believable face of any kind, and he can't keep a face long enough. His crying attempts look more like baby constipation, or gas when he suddenly smiles.

I don't think he will ever admit his part for these reasons:

1. He doesn't want to lose the family support he has. If he admitted to it, the family might erode in their support.
2. Never admitting means that he has a chance that the girls will have some sort of relationship with him in the future.
3. He would lose his ability to claim that he is a victim.
4. I think he truly believes that his construction of this crime didn't mean that he was murdering her, therefore, little to no culpability.
5. Not admitting guilt means that he can look for anyone and everyone who will listen to his story and help him fight for his freedom. (keeping himself relevant)
6. He has nothing to gain or negotiate for given the sentencing options so why would he take responsibility?

Personally, I believe he is acting like that to gather some control back but he knows those days are well over. He is a control freak and he cant handle listening about himself and not making decisions at this time. JMO

Prayers for the jurors. I'd guess they will have a verdict in a few hours. Today didn't go as I had expected. I didn't cry like I thought I would. Having just Teresa's mother testify was a true plea for Justice. She did it with such dignity and strength. It might be best to not see this part of the trial emotionally, but as black and white as the Jury instructions urge.

I feel the jury won’t take long. Could be wrong as one never knows. Just gotta pick 1 of 2 penalties. Unless there’s a lot of haggling back & forth, just feel in my bones it won’t take long. Possibly if most are for LWOP, it will be quicker??? Time will tell.

How’s that Psych degree workin’ for ya now, Mark?

It has always been about control. Control of the kids. Control of his sexual activity with his wife and others. Control of the family money through the office. Control of how and when Teresa felt safe (IMHO, he probably began creating a "you need a gun" or "we have lots of money in the house so we are a target" or "you are a public figure and we collect lots of money that we keep in the office and house" in order to further the idea that Teresa was not safe to make her more dependent or to make her more afraid). Control of the narrative (Smiley, friendly, bounce in the step MS). Control of the plan. Control of his friends (such as they were).

From my perspective, the guilt phase was much more emotional. Now, it is death or LWOP. Either way, he will not be free and will probably be around for many years.

I'm going to step away for awhile. This will insure the verdict will come in while I'm away. Doing my part now...stepping away.

This is most likely his last day in civilian clothes, a nice suit, around people other then guards and prisoners. Last day out in any form of freedom, bars forever until he leaves the earth.

Has this really sunk in? Not until he is hauled off to prison.

He will appeal but won’t win.

Bless Teresa’s Family and friends.

Is there any video of Teresa's mother's testimony today? I missed it

I’m really curious about what MS but on during the sentencing phase? Who testified on his behalf and what did they say?

Two things that were said are that he loved his wife and he walks with a spring in his step.o_Oo_Oo_O

They didn't use their experts. His Mom, Stepmom, brother and stepsister testified. Mainly about how good a father he is.

I've just caught up reading the tweets, I didn't see it live, so probably not best placed to say what was said.
