Thank you so much. Eww. Who he really is can be seen before the jury comes in. In his smug, casual joking with counsel. Dude doesn’t seem the least bit impacted by his conviction. He still thinks he will get out of it.

Then juxtapose that with his ridiculous efforts to pretend to cry as this poor lady testified about her beloved daughter.

Eww.

Two things that were said are that he loved his wife and he walks with a spring in his step.o_Oo_Oo_O

And he had the nickname "Smiley" because he was always smiling, and he had the nickname "Chicken Man" for bringing fried chicken to a women's shelter/charity.

Mark's step sis and step mom did OK, but his Mom and brother were too jovial in my opinion. Kinda like they were talking about Mark at his upbeat Celebration of Life service, not a death penalty phase of a murder trial.

They didn't use their experts. His Mom, Stepmom, brother and stepsister testified. Mainly about how good a father he is.

I've just caught up reading the tweets, I didn't see it live, so probably not best placed to say what was said.

I hope the state pointed out that good fathers don’t kill their kids’ mother. What a jerk this guy is.

I’m really curious about what MS but on during the sentencing phase? Who testified on his behalf and what did they say?

Heavy reliance on the "being a good father" aspect of his life---the main caretaker, found great activities and taught the girls the importance of virtues. Some testimony about him as a young man and the way he carried himself as a caretaker, nurturer and all around good guy.

His mother and step-mother (IIRC) both added that Teresa was a good model as well. Those were usually awkward asides that clearly were true but made them uncomfortable to say.

Talk of the girls and MS's pride in them. His brother said he bragged so much it was hard to get a word in about his own kids.

They described his life--- 3rd child, divorced parents (dad went from pharmacist to veterinarian to med school in Monserrat). Mark wanted his sister to have diamond earrings so he saved to get her a pair. He was never in trouble and a good kid.

His mother, Bonnie, his step-mother, his step-sister and his brother, Scott. Scott told about the broken home he came from, they all still love him, and they will all keep in contact with him if he gets LWOP. Bonnie said "he's my baby."

They said he breached his marital vows and his vows to his children (paraphrasing).

And he did it in a very ironic way that was awesome.

I love the way he keeps trying to hard swallow and look at the jury as Teresa’s poor mom talks, hoping they’re buying it.

He’s so gross to me.

My favorite is when he mouths words as others are testifying as he is in agreement. It is definitely an odd thing to do but I know he is uber aware of the camera focused on him. Hence the trying to cry and the muppet sad face while mumbling the words.

What time does court close? TY

My understanding is that the jury can say what time they wish to stop. If they are close, they might ask to have dinner and stay on or adjourn for the night.

The fact that they are going this long leads me to believe they have found in the affirmative on at least one of the aggravating factors.

Not gonna lie, I'm going to be disappointed if it's not death. I want him to GET IT finally! I mean get it intellectually. He does not GET IT.

I was pleased his family got to hear about some of the evidence against him today. I had the feeling they were under the impression he was innocent, and may not have followed the trial/evidence.
