As I said, completely agree with everyone's reaction to the question. I was just looking for what the legal possibilities were, and if anyone here might know if there's precedence. I know she's guilty as heck, and wouldn't want to see her there either. But I also know that the law affords her the presumption of innocence, and in that lies the crux of my question. So I put my mind towards [for a sec] the hypothetical of her actually being innocent [since she is presumed to be just that] and wondered if there was any way she would be allowed to attend.
I don't think she's a flight risk [jmo] - unless of course all persons charged with murder are simply presumed by the courts to be a flight risk. She didn't try to flee when out before, and realistically I doubt she'd get very far before some member of the public "apprehended" her.
Security risk? Yes, I could see that - mob mentality etc. There are some very angry people out there who want to see justice served, and there are some very crazy ones as well. If you get an angry person who is also a crazy one... well, you get the picture.
Even if she's not permitted to attend [and that's assuming she'd even want to] - I'm still really curious whether or not the possibility or a precedent exists, so if anyone out there knows the legal slant to this - please do chime in.
Thanks for all your input.
