I think these are important names to watch for regarding the sex for favors criminal indictment which did not touch Judge Mullins-- nor Stines for that matter.

IMO, Banfield's report (i.e., recorded allegations from Fields victim (plaintiff in the civil suit) seem to be based more on rumor than fact. In more than two years, I haven't found any local or national MSM publish and/or repeat similar allegations about Mullins.

Detective Matthew Easter investigated the case on behalf of the Attorney General’s Office. Assistant Attorneys General Barbara Whaley and Tim Cocanougher presented the case before the Letcher County grand jury on behalf of the state.

I agree, they appear to be based on rumor, but the victim stated she saw a video of what looked like judge Mullins having sex with a girl, either she is mistaken, making it up or it can't be verified by any other person. Imo. I don't really trust news nation since they tend to publish rumors over credible facts, but that's a recording.

I listened to the recording. She didn't say it was someone that looked like Mullins. She said it WAS Mullins.

After learning of this new info, it sure makes me wonder even more what Stines said to Mullins at lunch that day, that Mullins wanted discussed privately, in his chambers. It also lines up even more with this being info he (Stines) only very recently came to learn. Of course it's only an allegation at this point but from the sounds of it, maybe that allegation connected dots for Stines that he already suspected? Just a guess.

Ah So... Now we are getting to the rest of the story. Which is it? I told you so, or didn't I tell you?

If sex for favors was happening on the regular in that office, WHY would they continue to have cameras in use?? Were they that confident nobody would ever tell?

I mean, I think we all knew there was more to the story. In fact, I think there's still a LOT more to the story.
So far, with what we do know, I still can't see a justifiable reason for what Stines did.
Which tells me - either what we don't know yet is pretty vile, or Stines just lost it for whatever reason.

Blackmail would be my first thought.
If you've got the goods on someone doing something like that... well, you're the one in control.

The question is, who installed the cameras & who was recording who? I'm not sure that's ever been answered.

Maybe the videos were being sold.

Oh yes-

I thought these rumors had been dispelled but it appears they are back on the table.

While it is possible he went from totally sane and responsible to 15 minutes of insane, then back to sane again. It's not entirely probable.

I watched that earlier.
It still doesn't excuse cold blooded murder, and Stines should know that as a now former Sheriff.
Seems like both men were involved in this mess, with the witness statements and Stines named in the suit.
Both may have been about to see their livelihoods and reputations go down the drain, which may have led Stines to believe he had no choice but to kill his longtime friend.
What a terrible, tragic mess.
IMO.

In my opinion we have to be careful considering this new information.
The witness said she saw a video. Where is the video? Why wasn't the judge arrested? Or at the very least removed from the bench while an investigation was going on? Why would the Sheriff say they were trying to kidnap his wife and kid? I'm not saying it is not true. If it is true I am shocked that the judge was still on the bench.

As I have said before. My only interest in this was the reason, and it seems to be coming thru now.
So I will lounge with my popcorn to see how close my hyphosohis was...

Now we are getting down to the meat in the coconut. Who else was invited/had access to this office of pleasure and how high up the political chain was it utilized and what blackmail material was generated? Follow the money to be made with favors granted and the leverage gained.

Perhaps the whole lot of 'em are corrupt and that's why he wasn't removed. Or, he just hadn't been removed...yet.

As always, just my opinion.

In the civil lawsuit, it is stated the accused deputy used the judges chambers because they didn't have cameras, so was that actually true, were they installed after the rape allegations or were they installed to catch any such activity or were they there the whole time? You're right, those questions haven't quite been answered yet.

I completely agree.

I'll add a few more questions to the list:

Who showed her this video?
Why was she shown the video?
When was she shown the video?
Who else besides the judge did she see on the video?
Who has known all this time that she made that statement about seeing the judge on video?
When exactly was this interview recorded?
Has this woman told anyone else who she saw on this video?
Why are we only hearing about this now?
Who installed the video camera?
Why was the video camera installed?
Where are all the other videos from this camera?

I think there are folks in this jurisdiction that have every single answer to all of our questions.
