I'll add a few more questions to the list:

Who showed her this video?
Why was she shown the video?
When was she shown the video?
Who else besides the judge did she see on the video?
Who has known all this time that she made that statement about seeing the judge on video?
When exactly was this interview recorded?
Has this woman told anyone else who she saw on this video?
Why are we only hearing about this now?
Who installed the video camera?
Why was the video camera installed?
Where are all the other videos from this camera?

I think there are folks in this jurisdiction that have every single answer to all of our questions.

Patience.. It has just hit the fan, will begin to splatter. Some struck will be seeking safe harbor. A few weak sisters; low on the lineage, will begin to seek cover by trading some good solid info for their being considered good guys who were entrapped.

When it comes to the letcher county sheriff, the prosecutor, and all judges; they are all elected officials, to me that is incentive enough to look past the bad behavior of other elected officials and their capacity because of the possible repercussions. They were voted in and the community loves them, why buck that even if they are right?! Justice in small towns becomes subjective and at best it might be lacking because the community itself is complicit. Just look at the South up until the 1930's... Where lynchings were common place. The only reason those things existed were because of a common hate and corruption and as much as a community might not agree, they allowed it to go on because the elected officials didn't do anything, rather, they were often party to offenses. Others would look the other way when things were otherwise corrupt, and to out right expect county officials to not have the possibility of being corrupt is otherwise unamerican and inexperienced, because it has existed for so long and is literally the bases of our checks and balances in our government.

The Judge sentenced Fields to 7 yrs -- the result suspending all but 6 months for supervised probation was part of a plea agreement.

Right. Seven years of probation for the offences he had! Insane! Imagine if the women he victimized were given the same leniency in the first place?!?! They all pled as well, with the reasonable hope it would help them but it has been proven they are victims, and they might have never been victims to the county like they were in the first place if not for field's ability to commit his actions even if it were just one time! To assume it is limited to just two victims, with one being 1dead, is naive if not insane at the very least, in my opinion. Let alone the idea that a single deputy could commit all these offences without knowledge or help from some superior or other officer or other outside help. That's the real shame. That criminals were ever victimized in the first place. Because who is going to believe a criminal? Right? One victim might even be ALIVE if they were treated the way fields was as an offender in the first place. There might be a really messed up reason why they were never offered the same leniency as the deputy... Anyway, No matter how others might discredit or rake Adkins through the coals she at least has managed one thing above everyone else, probably the one thing used against most, is despite everything else, she has managed rehabilitation and change for the better. So for me, it's hard to discredit her.

When I look back at the mountain eagle and it's reporting it's is unnerving the amount of "absconding from bond" for a very large amount of young females who are tied to Fields and Stines. Who was the unwitting party? Seems like there was one.. it might likely be the one who lost his stuff and killed someone... Or it could've been the victim of the shooting, the judge, because he didn't play along? Or because the judge was the assumed victimizer? There are many possibilities than just passing the judge or the the sheriff as a bad guy.

But it's hard to believe one without the other.

No, local LE was conflicted and could not investigate their own and the criminal allegations by the woman were investigated by the Kentucky Attorney General's Office, and former deputy Fields was Indicted by the Grand Jury. Stines nor Mullins were never criminally indicted nor charged during this investigation by the AG.

Detective Matthew Easter investigated the case on behalf of the Attorney General’s Office. Assistant Attorneys General Barbara Whaley and Tim Cocanougher presented the case before the Letcher County grand jury on behalf of the state.

No feds were involved in the criminal prosecution of former deputy Fields. Judge Mullins was at the bottom of the pole (district court) and didn't prosecute high level cases or preside over Circuit Court. Mullins essentially had a fulltime job pleading out addicts to ARC treatment centers. Reportedly, Adkins is a sick woman who fell into addiction later in life and is still struggling. IMO, even the sentencing Judge called out the wild allegations in naming the court system as another victim here!

Judge Coleman, acting a special Letcher County Circuit Judge in the case, said consequences of the case reach far beyond its direct victims.

“I recognize Miss Adkins is a victim,” Coleman said. “I also believe the criminal justice system Is a victim in this case. When people behave this way as Mr. Fields has behaved, it does create a story people can use when they talk about judges, lawyers, officers, and the court system.”

thank you. I agree and think the BBM bears repeating as we now witness a well respected murder victim's reputation be maligned by a convicted addict and those in the public who need the sheriff to somehow have been justified.

Even if every single allegation against Judge Mullins was true there would never be "rightful justification" nor an affirmative defense for the actions of Stines. More important, if any of them has the possibly of being true it would be more of a reason to make sure the judge was tried under the court of law, after all, we all depend on it, so we do not get to abandon it because someone close to us does something unjust. I do think it's unreasonable to consider some of these allegations against the judge, but here at ws we consider a lot of unreasonable actions from unreasonable people as it's part of what we do here.
When people look into why others commit heinous actions they are not exercising justification for the crime, but accepting even a psychopath has a "reason" for their actions. It's why many of us follow true crime. Just speaking for me..

About the time I thought the family of Stines daughter, and Stines defense had finally put to rest that there was no evidence of anything inappropriate between the Stines minor child and Judge Mullins, I just heard Court TV proposing that since Adkins alleged she saw Mullins having sex with a "girl," and not a woman, this alleged victim could in fact be Stines child! (Ref Media Thread post #74).

Sadly, the damage being born from this unproven "sextortion" allegation is never going to end! MOO

I wonder (vaguely) if either the sheriff's wife or daughter was recently (or otherwise) let off of a misdemeanour charge, or similar, by Judge Mullins. Not saying it is in any way true, or even possible. But possibly the sheriff may have leapt to an erroneous conclusion? Just a thought.

I seriously doubt that Mullins would hear any case involving any Stines family member due to Canon Rules. Judges generally take this pretty seriously.

You are right. The Murdaugh investigation was hush hush for several months before we heard anything. We know now what was going on behind the scenes.

It was so peculiar to say that there was no threat to the public but offer nothing…zero. How could they say there is no threat if they hadn’t nabbed the suspect?? That is nonsensical.
