The tales from shoppers at the mall from various media articles is absolutely terrifying. My most sincere thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and anyone who has been a witness to this. My thoughts are also with the people of Nairobi.

How can these terrorists possibly think that this will achieve anything other than further exacerbating tensions? They certainly can't achieve any sympathy through these horrific, callous actions.

Thanks for the link, some very harrowing photos on there. I can never believe what I see in photos such as these. They're so unreal and yet too real!

The slaughter of innocents has to stop. This isn't about religion it's extremism and it only leads to hate and murder of innocent people. There were so many children at that mall. So many children.

My thoughts are with all those injured, and the family and friends of all those who so tragically lost their lives. My thoughts are also with all those who witnessed this horror, and the people of Nairobi.

May the situation be resolved with no further innocent lives being taken.

Three of the alleged attackers are from the United States, two are from Somalia and there is one each from Canada, Finland, Kenya and the United Kingdom, according to the list.

The Finnish police said there is no one with the name mentioned in the tweet listed in the census as living in Finland. It could be an alias.

You know what, if thats what it takes to wipe out these cowards then im all fur surgical strikes if requested by the Kenyan gov/t. They don'
t have half the resources or training and to let these particular militants go about their daily lives planning more massacres and carrying them out (and targeting americans too) is just wrong.

some of the ringleaders of the assault — in which masked gunmen moved methodically through the crowded mall on Saturday, killing men, women and children — may have escaped during the initial confusion. One witness said that an assailant quickly tore off his clothes and changed into a new outfit before running out, hands raised, blending in with a crowd of fleeing civilians.

Security officials in Nairobi said that two other militants — both women who appeared to be directing other assailants during the killings — also managed to escape after the initial stage of the attack, raising fears that well-trained terrorists could be on the loose in Nairobi. Several witnesses have said that some of the militants were clearly not African and may have been from Western countries.

CNN said in a later tweet: “CNN has learned from sources that two of the Kenya mall attackers are from Minnesota and one from Missouri.”

A State Department officials confirmed to The Blaze that they’re investigating that claim.

CNN reported that two other attackers hail from Somalia, and one each from Canada, Finland, Kenya and the United Kingdom.

Last night, as the bodies were still being counted at the shopping mall, one British woman was notably slow to join the condemnation.

For Samantha Lewthwaite, the daughter of a former British soldier who grew up attending school discos in Buckinghamshire, views these awful events as a cause for jubilation.

Kenyan anti-terror police revealed yesterday that SL - who is known to many as the White Widow - may be the brains behind the operation to bring terror to the heart of Kenya, a country once synonymous with the sexual high-jinks of the Happy Valley expatriate set, but rapidly becoming a new battleground in the war between Islamists and the West.

‘I suspect this woman SL is behind this attack,’ a senior anti-terror source told me last night as survivors described how a woman in a veil appeared to be commanding the other terrorists as they hunted down and killed non-Muslim shoppers.
