KS KS - Lori Heimer 57, murdered in her Saline County home, 25 Jun 2016

  • #861
I got a chuckle out of that, I remember the HeeHaw days. ☺

Hadn't poked my nose in here for a few days, had so hoped there would be something. Makes no sense. Did LE drop the ball or what.

Really. Cool! I never thought about the elections and this case, but yes!
Hopefully with the new one in we see things happen finally.

Well that's encouraging news....good to hear a new sheriff comes on board soon.

I think about Lori so often - she was a farm wife living in a nice home, breeding dogs. A normal existence - about as American, apple pie, salt of the earth as you can get. She had to be totally blindsided by this attack, seemingly coming from out of nowhere. That's the part that really bothers me so much about this case. Lori lived a low-risk life - who would ever expect such a brutal attack on someone who was minding her own business in her own home in middle America. It just seems so random and unexpected to me....I think that has a lot to do with why I am so obsessed with this case.

I just can't believe the KBI hasn't figured out who did this horrible crime. The perpetrator (s) can't be that smart! I can not even imagine how frustrated the family must be at this point. :(

I wonder if it is possible to find out if Kansas has put anybody new on wanted posters, or if there is website to find out about that, or if there is a website for NCIC?

Well, nobody on Kan most wanted seems to be connected to Saline County. Maybe I should check KSMo, maybe something familiar or suspicious will catch my eye.

With the tons of physical evidence SCSD says they recovered, surely they'll get a break soon. I just don't want this to set on the shelf like the oil rigg tampering case. It has been a little over 11 years now, and as far as I know, not one peep...

I do hoped for breaking news here. But look at the Bevers case, appears to be some sort of break finally. I pray for one here. Soon.

I wish breaks would come when we want or think they should come. Unfortunately, they sometimes come when we least expect them.

I have to think, however, that there is someone in the area who knows exactly what happened and why. (Even though there is never a good reason why this brutal killing took place.) But certainly, with any level of brutality, it originated from rage.

Why was someone so angry with
LH that she was murdered?

1). A burglary gone wrong

2). Anger that she was contributing to the "puppy mills"

3). Anger that she sold them a defective dog?

4). Someone jealous that she was bettering herself? Or someone jealous of her for other reasons.

The only one that makes sense to me is #1. She was home alone, a lovely nice woman and one who probably had cash on hand.

I suspect she took great care of her dogs and was proud of them.

Those suspecting uncared for puppy mills or uncared for dogs could have had her investigated and the dogs removed.

If she sold someone a defective puppy, certainly she would have taken the dog back. And given them a credit.

Perhaps part of the reward money could be offered to anybody who can give police a solid lead. Not necessarily conviction but at least get them pointed in the right direction.

It's so hard to understand why this case has seemingly come to a screeching halt.

I agree.....it's so frustrating. I wish something would break....

Who killed a beloved rural Kansas dog breeder? Family seeks answers

http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article127382514.html
A few new things. Mr. Heimer was harvesting 4 miles away from their house?

Just who saw the trucks?! Especially since there wasn't a house within a half mile from the Heimer home.

And the KBI. Where are these agents located? Do one or two of them live locally? I hope they have a local partner to bat ideas around with and with someone familiar with the area.

What does it mean she was found among her puppies?!

It sounds like the family has had time to inventory the house for missing items. Why kill LH and not
take anything? Maybe it was someone close to her? I think at this point, and if not already, the family needs to keep open minds about ANY possible motive.

Before anyone jumps the gun, there was an arrest in Saline County booking yesterday that listed a murder charge. It was another attempted murder charge, which is explained in this story...

Not sure why we would jump the gun on this. It doesn't appear to have any similarities w/LH. Do you know more than you are saying?
