Some people answered this already but they were technically wrong.

NO vaccinations are required in Kansas. You can sign a release form saying you do not vaccinate for personal and/or religious beliefs.

I have an allergy and don’t have any vaccinations. My parents were never given any grief about it. Due to concerns about this allergy being genetic, my son was on a VERY delayed schedule. He started attending a public school with next to zero vaccinations. All I had to do was sign a form... no doctor’s note or anything.

I think measles is far fetched anyway. Wouldn't he practically have to be patient 0 for the epidemic? Plus it is a different county. And his sister just turned one and would not be fully vaccinated (if she were being vaccinated and he was not) so she would be at risk of falling ill. Isn't measles highly contagious?

It is an interesting thought, but I think it is highly improbable.

I think it's important to remember the personality of the kid involved. Anecdotally you can argue for or against accidental bruising happening innocently. But it depends on the child and the context.

For example, my 10 yr old son never runs around and plays rough enough to get many scrapes or bruises. He prefers indoor activities. He doesn't like sports or getting dirty or muddy. If he ever got a few noticeable bruises, I immediately investigated what was up. Just recently this happened and it turned out a classmate at school was targeting him and bullying him.

In the case of Lucas, it's important to remember what family members have said. Lucas is a quiet, shy little boy who doesn't like to rough-house. Even the neighbor commented on his demeanor when he met Lucas and the older step siblings.

It contrasts sharply with EG's assertions that he was often falling and/or bruising himself because of his recklessness or lack of care.

VERY good point IMO.

Been out of loop a bit. Several posters have referred to LL as last verifiable person ? To have seen Lucas. I’m confused. Can simeone let me in on that person. This is new to me. It’s bern my understanding the lastcredible and verified sighting of him on 2/12 by the neighbor?

This is NOT true. The only time you can get an exemption is when there is a medical need and you would HAVE to have a letter from the doctor stating this and also when there are religious reasons and that would only need a letter from the parent saying that their religious beliefs do not allow vaccines. If the school allowed a simple note from a parent on a suspected allergy then they aren't doing their job.

Regardless, most vaccines are required by the age of 5 and in kindergarten. I don't remember my kids pre-k requiring proof of vaccines but since that was years ago I can't be sure.

Something just hit me, I can't believe I didn't think about it before. I wonder if on the 16th, when the LL came by and saw Lucas look out the window at him - did the LL happen to see what Lucas was wearing? I'm wondering if the LL saw that Lucas was wearing the same shirt that EG said he was wearing last.

I'd like to add my thoughts on this.

Lucas is not a rough and tumble kind of kid. When he plays with his older sister and things start getting rough, he doesn't like it.

I also wouldn't exactly describe him as shy. When Lucas met my other nephews for the first time he was the one to jump in and start playing with them. I've never observed him as being a wallflower or standing off to the side while other kids play. He always gets right in there and has fun even when he's with new friends.

Maybe it's just a difference in environments. But the neighbors report of how Luke just stood there with his hands in his pockets breaks my heart. Was he so "sick" that he couldn't play? Was he so scared of Emily that he wasn't comfortable?

These are the questions that eat away at me. He wasn't quiet and shy over here. Why was he when he was there?

Charliegizmo49, ScarletLin answered this for you on post 512. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, one of the VIs, states that the LL (landlord) saw Lucas on the 16th. As a VI, she doesn’t need to provide a link. We can choose whether or not to believe what a VI says. (I personally do.)

If I’m doing this correctly, here’s a link to post 512: https://www.websleuths.com/forums/s...-Feb-2018-13-*Arrest*&p=14001792#post14001792

Great catch! Never thought of that!!! I would bet if LL was a male, and im assuming so because I feel like I’ve heard LL was a guy, that he wouldn’t have paid much attention. But that would be amazing if he did notice what Lucas was wearing !

Yes, I was wondering how big the bear was on the shirt. Was it a big all over the front logo/embroidered type thing? Or was it maybe a smaller print? If he/she did see it and it was a big enough bear, they may have noticed - especially if they went to the window and tried telling Lucas something like "Can your mommy or daddy come to the door?" (I know EG isn't biomom, but not sure if LL would know that or just refer to her as that for simplicity). Isn't there a quite large window on the front of the house, I'm assuming where the living room is?

ETA: Yes! It's a huge window that sits very low to the ground, directly next to the front door - so if thats the window LL saw Lucas through, they could have easily seen exactly what he was wearing! Wow, I wonder......

Thank you for sharing. I know I just read and reread every tidbit you share about Lucas. I keep flipping over to the new FB and checking out his pictures while I wait here tonight. I just want to soak up every bit of your precious moments with Lucas.

Thank you for coming here to share with us. I hope all of the amazing locals, and far flung heroes too, can bring your Lucas home. I really wish we could manage to pull off a miracle for you.

I’m not sure what my parents signed as it was over 20 years ago.

I can promise you that the Goddard school district did NOT require a doctors note when my son was enrolled there 5 years ago. They haven’t asked for any documentation after the first form either.

I know they will be monitoring her jail contact with others (phone conversations etc) but I wish they could get JH or her family to start putting pressure on her. Am I right in thinking that she can just refuse to talk to LE? Why doesn’t JH start demanding answers? I know if it were my child missing I would be?

Why would he start demanding answers? He already believes the answers she has given.

I agree the idea is far fetched. I just wanted to throw in my personal experience with vaccines and our public school system.

It’s not impossible to attend a public school without vaccines. In fact, it is becoming more common every year.

That being said, this is very OT. I just wanted to make sure the original poster had the correct info.

I *distantly* know the LL and his wife. I know them well enough to know that they manage their properties together- so it could have been either of them.

Snipped for space.

We haven’t heard much about Lucas having an older sister. Is this his biomoms daughter? How much older is she?

I’m sorry your family is still suffering though this nightmare. I pray you have peace soon.

My personal opinion is that Lucas didn’t feel well enough to join in because of ill treatment and that he would probably get in trouble with EG for something, anything. Even at 5 years old there would be consequences for having fun. I think he may have wanted to avoid the wrath of EG.

Good to know! Phonejockey has a great point about the big front window- if Lucas was in the front window, which I would assume is the window he was seen at- it would be in fairly good view to notice a big bear on the front of his shirt. I wonder too what his facial expression was- scared, nervous, maybe he was happy to be looking out the window knowing EG would be gone for a bit he could have some peace in his life... poor Lucas!
