I thought I just missed something. I thought it was strange EG seemed to have said he has sisters and brothers (both plural) that miss him, too, but thought maybe it was irrelevant.

Which is another reason why I feel that line in the interview was eulogizing Lucas. EG would know if the baby had been saying "where's Lucas? I want Lucas!" however she might say that in her baby language, and yes, EG can imagine that the other siblings would be concerned, but it didn't sound like a personal thing she was sharing, like in my example of the baby asking for her big brother and no one knows what to say to her...Emily's words had a more 'distant' sound to them? But she doesn't have direct knowledge (I presume) of how the other siblings are experiencing this, and she doesn't even personalize it more for the baby?

Am I nitpicking her statement? I do have a problem when people's words are nitpicked and I don't like to think I'm falling into that trap. Maybe it's just the way the entire interview comes over as being about "Emily".

I'm in the Kansas City metro area, and the 2 different school districts my kids have been in will not even let you begin enrollment without their vaccination records, no ifs ands or buts. They will turn you away until you have everything ready to go. It seems a lot more lax on the KS side.

Wichita checks it at enrollment also. They’ve always said to have it before the start of the school year, which is probably why enrollment is about 2 Weeks out from the start date. Then they do a District wide cutoff day usually mid November for any that slipped through the cracks at enrollment.

I agree, the whole of the interview comes across more as what she thinks she should say, and it’s not really what people expect as far as word choice and sentiment and even details...

Some people answered this already but they were technically wrong.

NO vaccinations are required in Kansas. You can sign a release form saying you do not vaccinate for personal and/or religious beliefs.

I have an allergy and don’t have any vaccinations. My parents were never given any grief about it. Due to concerns about this allergy being genetic, my son was on a VERY delayed schedule. He started attending a public school with next to zero vaccinations. All I had to do was sign a form... no doctor’s note or anything.

true. I have 2 Grandsons a Daughter and myself. We all have NF1. My daughter decided not to vaccinate in case it might cause tumors to grow . Since of corse this has not been studied we have no medical proof we went with religious. My own children was vaccinated and I was. I am covered in tumors. Long story and off topic

I really don’t think immunizations play into this at all.. I’m still caught up with the holiday on Monday and trash being delayed by a day. What day was the trash picked up at their property. The Landfill haunts me

 • #746
The news cycle is already turning over and moving on to other "stories". I just looked at the Wichita Eagle home page online and there is not one mention of Lucas. Not even at the bottom of the page or anything.

LE really needs to get out and do a press release. Speak directly to the landowners in the Wichita region and remind the public that Lucas is still missing.

The Holiday was the Monday after she reported him missing and Presidents Day isn’t a Holiday observed by the trash company

This is NOT true. The only time you can get an exemption is when there is a medical need and you would HAVE to have a letter from the doctor stating this and also when there are religious reasons and that would only need a letter from the parent saying that their religious beliefs do not allow vaccines. If the school allowed a simple note from a parent on a suspected allergy then they aren't doing their job.

Regardless, most vaccines are required by the age of 5 and in kindergarten. I don't remember my kids pre-k requiring proof of vaccines but since that was years ago I can't be sure.

Right within the document you linked, it states a guardian can write a note stating a religious exemption, and it is acceptable. <modsnip>

Just thinking out loud...

We have a newspaper called grass and grain that is very popular up here with farmers - does anybody know of a paper geared towards agricultural down there

Well, yes, we probably are nitpicking her statement. But this isn't just a regular day-to-day interaction. If your day-to-day included a lot of people who frequently may be trying to deceive you, I'd probably encourage you to nitpick more! I think you should not worry, too much, in this instance.

I agree with your assessment, too. Especially knowing, now, that he has another sister that, presumably, EG isn't particularly familiar with. Plus, she calls him her baby right before that. Like, calling him a baby is seeing him now as sweet and innocent in this one part, instead of the boy she introduced us to who was always getting himself and her into all this trouble.

More information will be added soon, but just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Also, Nancy Grace is being rescheduled for either Wednesday or Thursday.

Thank you all for not giving up on Lucas [emoji172]

I have a few friends on facebook who live close to Kansas that didn't know anything about Lucas missing so we are getting the word out about him.and we are all sharing his post with the LE number on it.. I pray for you and your family and sweet Lucas.. my heart breaks for him. God Bless

FLA my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I feel so bad for all of you and for little Lucas. :(

I'd like to add my thoughts on this.

Lucas is not a rough and tumble kind of kid. When he plays with his older sister and things start getting rough, he doesn't like it.

I also wouldn't exactly describe him as shy. When Lucas met my other nephews for the first time he was the one to jump in and start playing with them. I've never observed him as being a wallflower or standing off to the side while other kids play. He always gets right in there and has fun even when he's with new friends.

Maybe it's just a difference in environments. But the neighbors report of how Luke just stood there with his hands in his pockets breaks my heart. Was he so "sick" that he couldn't play? Was he so scared of Emily that he wasn't comfortable?

These are the questions that eat away at me. He wasn't quiet and shy over here. Why was he when he was there?

BBM to make a point below to Cndy and CC.

I disagree. But maybe that's because my heart and mind want to. I dont think she taunted him with unobtainable food/treats nor tormented him by making him stand to the side. That day the neighbor met them, he commented that her two older boys were playing around and fighting with broken rake handles. I think there is no way Lucas wanted to get in the middle of that. , it's up to him to keep himself safe. They told him he had to be careful.

My feeling for that situation with neighbor kids is that LH was fearful of getting into trouble. Maybe EG had already lashed out at him that morning and told him to be good and be quiet or else.

BBM in the two quotes:

Honestly? I don't think this is it. Given that FLA told us he would not like to play with his sister when things got too rough I think it's bc it was triggering to him because of the abuse he suffered at the hands of EG. This was probably the same case with the boys that day the neighbor saw them. If they were throwing stuff around and fighting it was probably triggering to him and it scared him. It may have caused him flashbacks or something.

My heart breaks for this poor little boy. :(

Let's move on from the vaccine discussion, please. If FindLucasAllen and/or Paddleboarder tell us in the future that Lucas' vaccination record is relevant to his disappearance, we can discuss it then.

Yes, a normal adult, even one who is not a parent, knows that you tell an older child to be careful with a younger child. Only a narcissist who dislikes or hates the younger child would expect the younger child to protect himself from older children. IMO
Now see, guys, I didn't take it that way. I think EG was trying to establish that Lucas was an active, gung-ho little boy who wanted to be part of the action. (Not saying I believe that to be true, though.) Telling one child to be careful would not preclude saying the same to any and/or all of them. She just was talking about Lucus specifically, not the other kids; kinda "Take it easy there, kiddo! Calm down!""

My family never had any problem telling everyone to chill when the group started getting "rammy," as we called it. I think a lot of times what we're picking apart is just how people speak colloquially.

Hope that makes sense. No way no HOW am I defending this person at ALL. It's just that when we start ascribing EVERY possible nasty word, deed, or intention to EG, we run the risk of creating a character profile that is more a Snidely Whiplash caricature -- and a list of "facts" that is sometimes impossible to separate from fiction.

I want to scream at the world that has already moved on or forgotten, “There is a little boy missing!! A sweet precious little guy who deserves justice and needs to be found”. If only they could all hear our pleas for Lucas. This case haunts me, so much love to FLA and PB and those who treasure Lucas. Cruel world [emoji20]

I did say that a parent could write a note saying their religion didn't allow the child to be vaccinated. But if it's something medical, a doctor needs to write it. Kansas doesn't accept personal reasons or personal beliefs not having to do with religion.

Maybe, but I think she said something like, "we always had to tell him (Lucas) to be careful", not "we always had to tell the boys to be careful playing with each other". What she said puts the blame on Lucas for getting bruised.

Who knows if her words mean anything or nothing at all. She likes to talk about herself so maybe she just sounds awkward when asked to speak about anyone else.

What can we do to get it out front again...

We need to start being LOUD. We can't let people stop talking about Lucas. We can't let the news stop reporting about him. Maybe we need to bombard the news stations with emails, find any way to talk about it on FB, keep sharing his picture over and over and over. Use hashtags. Organize vigils. Send out the flyers. Maybe ask the news outlets to display a picture of the land owner flyers during the 5 o clock and 10 o'clock news. Are there any family members who would be willing to do live feeds and ask for the publics help in keeping this on top? Or maybe actually go on the news? Idk, i just don't like when things go quiet. Because Lucas deserves to be found and deserves to be remembered. I promise I will share his picture every day and I won't stop talking about him. ❤

When I lived in Kansas, I recall something called Kansas Farmer. Maybe they would publish a flyer? Any Kansans have a connection to that publication?

ETA: Here's what looks to be another ag publication, out of Hutchinson, which is close enough to Wichita, IMO, to be an effective resource.
