I think it's suspicious that after Lucas told his great grandmother about the kicking and hitting and she reported it, she never got to see him again. This, to me, would imply that it was most likely a family member who did the abuse and either the step-mom or the father punished the woman with no more visitations. Step-siblings is a possibility, but it's the parents who'd control who got to see Lucas when not in school. I don't think it would be just school related.

This reminds me of other cases where when concerned relatives or friends/neighbors made formal complaints to the authorities about abused children, they were then completely cut off from contact. In more extreme cases, the whole family (like the Turpins) would leave town or even state to make sure they were 'hidden' from prying eyes and (in their minds) interfering busybodies.
It does seem reporting anonymous doesn't always remain anonymous. Unless it is just a lucky guess/who the child was last with and/or questions that person may ask that the person being reported knows who it is.

Thank you. Was looking at the database and not seeing it listed for some reason. Maybe I’m in another spot...

Lucas is not on NAMUS but is on NCMC. They are two different things. I hope that helps!

Idk....I think kicking may be more common than we think. More than once, I have experienced being knocked down and kicked while lying on the ground and I'm sure others have, too. When adults are in a rage, emotion takes over and kicking something is no different than hitting or punching, even biting. Not saying that's the case here, jmo.
Also, IIRC, CARD was called out for Mariah Woods and they knew immediately that she was not abducted. They are just super specialized and invaluable in all child missings, not just abductions. Again, I don't know what pertains to this case. Just throwing it out there.
It would be interesting to hear if they borrowed anyone's truck for moving. Have they come out with any kind of appeal such as check your cameras, did you see this car between the hours of...kinda thing? Did I miss it?

I wonder why police will not let the community search? I have never heard of that before.

I wonder if they have evidence that this actually may be an abduction after all and that is why the FBI Abduction team has been deployed? Could the stepmom or g/f have passed her polygraph, I wonder...

IMO

Hi Ocean - LE has been very specific that they have eliminated abduction. They indicated that its the main reason there is no amber alert.

Maybe older kid(s) kicking a younger one?

Kicking stands out to me as a bit unusual - not something an adult would do to a child the age of Lucas. IDK - I suppose anything is possible.

We'll eventually find out. I am hopeful Lucas will be found. Though I really, really wish the person with the info would assist!! It's cold out there....is Lucas alone in the elements?

Someone needs to speak up now and give a clue to where this little guy is.

Me too.....but just saw that Australian Cruise ship fights, and yeah, there was adult kicking!

I really don't know, Flute. I am just now coming into this thread and saw the article.

Has LE said they do not believe Lucas was abducted or hinted at it? I havent had the time to watch the PCs they have held. tia

IMO
I responded on the other post of no abduction. I would like add that K9s had no hits for the child in or outside the new house that supposedly he had lived for a week.

Sorry, I must have missed something. Where did the kicking thing come from?

A grandmother called CPS stating Lucas said he had been kicked at home. After she made the report they no longer let her see Lucas.

You can find the quote a few pages back.

Oh ok. Thanks. Are they implying the step-mom's kids did that to him?

Maybe it’s because I didn’t grow up in the States, but my dad used to kick me and my brother - especially if he was drunk.

When I was 11-ish and my brother 7-ish, he was trying to kick my brother one night but missed and hit a dresser, ending up with a broken big toe. No more kicking after that.

I really, really hate to think about what little Lucas might have been enduring :(.

Are the Facebook accounts from local reporters linkable? I came across pics of Lucas on an account of a woman from KWCH reporting on Lucas’ disappearance.

from what I read, Lucas told her on the phone he was being kicked and hit. The article did not say if the grandma said by who.

I honestly feel like this is backfire from me saying that we had a very, very bad experience with CPS. I feel pretty ganged up on about this if I'm honest. We had an awful experience with CPS. They did nothing to help us. They failed our family. I'm not sure why I should be expected to just let it go because some CPS workers are good. I get that. I was only speaking of my experience. My experience and the endless amounts of cases we see here that have a failure from CPS in their past.

I honestly wish I had never said anything about what we endured. This has turned into a backlash at me for saying something negative towards CPS.

I understand that most, if not all, CPS workers are overloaded, it's crazy the way our world thinks we can handle things when we can't. But I promise you, some are just plain incompetent.

I was speaking specifically to the post by D’anthropologist where she brought up the possibility of Lucas getting bullied or kicked/hit at preschool.

I was not talking about abuse by teachers in any way. That’s a whole different matter.

It's actually not at all uncommon, especially if they are searching rough terrain or <sigh> if they do not expect to find the child alive.

There is no amber alert because they don’t know *who* abducted him.

? Wouldn't there have to be an auto involved also or do I need to go back and read and refresh my memory?!

We need Skibaboo!!

Aww! Hey, I AM still here (or around) I’m just super busy now and can’t be as active as I used to be on the boards. If a map is needed and nobody else is able to do one, send me a PM. I check my email frequently so I’ll see it :)
