It's actually not at all uncommon, especially if they are searching rough terrain or <sigh> if they do not expect to find the child alive.

I'm "liking" your post for the 2nd & 3rd paragraphs, and giving you a good solid hug for the 1st. I'm so sorry you had ro experience that.Idk....I think kicking may be more common than we think. More than once, I have experienced being knocked down and kicked while lying on the ground and I'm sure others have, too. When adults are in a rage, emotion takes over and kicking something is no different than hitting or punching, even biting. Not saying that's the case here, jmo.
Also, IIRC, CARD was called out for Mariah Woods and they knew immediately that she was not abducted. They are just super specialized and invaluable in all child missings, not just abductions. Again, I don't know what pertains to this case. Just throwing it out there.
It would be interesting to hear if they borrowed anyone's truck for moving. Have they come out with any kind of appeal such as check your cameras, did you see this car between the hours of...kinda thing? Did I miss it?
There is police presence in the area but really no activity inside Harrison Park. Not surprising as it is a small park and there isn’t much room to hide anything- other than a pond. I don’t think they are to the point of calling in dive teams just yet.
I was walking in the area earlier. There is about an inch of ice and sleet covering the ground. Any evidence is probably buried. It is expected to snow again for the next two days— but should melt off on Friday when it’s supposed to reach 50 degrees.
We might not hear much until then unless they are able to break through the ice and sleet to get a good comb through the area.
Wish I had a better update.

I also think in pre-k kids don't have much time without adults watching them fairly closely. At least, I hope!I don't see the relative calling CPS if he was being bullied at school.I think she would talk to the parents and school before making this drastic decision.
THe Chisolm Creek Park/Great Plains Nature Center would be the more likely place for someone to try to cover something up. It's a heavily wooded area with lots of little places where you can tuck yourself away in. It is a place common for having little sexual encounters if they are into doing that type of thing in public locations because it is vast enough and covered up enough as well that you won't be right out in the open.
I wonder if when they moved if she withdrew him from the old school and never re-registered him? If he did actually miss 10 days before he disappeared it may be why it slipped by. I know sometimes they don't check as close as they should when a student moves.
Gosh but at this point if someone doesn't talk this is going to wind up like Deorr Kunz or Robert Bee

Brainstorming about Park Searches: (unrelated to the possibility of tips about "a park" or phone pings)
What is something that could be identified rather quickly (no need to send out to a lab and wait for results etc) that would/could be present at those parks but not likely to be in say, ones own backyard? But something that is also easy to spot immediately....like on a persons shoe or clothing, carpet or car mats? Something that could be observed during questioning or a quick walk through of the house?
Pine needles? A specific type of leaf?
I'm out of ideas already. Just trying to think of other possibilities that we perhaps hadn't discussed.
I responded on the other post of no abduction. I would like add that K9s had no hits for the child in or outside the new house that supposedly he had lived for a week.

Could even be as simple as, "I see your shoes are muddy."
"Yes, we were at the park this week." But then the story of the park doesn't seem right.
or something like that.
SOMETHING makes LE think Lucas is in a park nearby. What?
Someone left him there, alone, in the elements....and refuses to tell the truth so he can be found? Please, say something, someone!
jmo
I can say on occasion being mad at my boys I have never considered kicking them! I don't even know if it is possible from a standing up position so I assume sitting or lying on the floor-which seems like an adult just having a hissy fit! I couldn't see my parents doing that either and I grew up being punished with a belt once or twice. As if this case were not bothersome enough...my stomach dropped when I read about the kicking.
My mom was abusive. Kicking was one of her things. Trust me, grown-ups that are abusive (at least in my situation) can use any body part, any object and any other method to inflict pain or take out their rage.
I feel really ill right now.
