I’ve been looking over EG’s statement that was read in court and transcribed and posted here (thank you Tortoise) Does any one know if only exerts were testified to? Was it a complete statement or were there redactions?

I’ve been reading the last couple of days but haven’t had anything helpful to post. But I’m still here with all you folks. A little discouraged though. Thanks to all who remain committed.

I believe only portions we read so as to not involve Lucas's missing.

It was only a small portion of the statement. The full thing is 6 pages long- we haven’t seen or heard all of it yet. The parts read into evidence weren’t even 2 full pages just parts

I think only parts that where regarding baby M were discussed, I think alot of her statement was left out.

I wonder if it is district specific? In our district children have to go through a basic physical, dental exam and immunization records before entering pre-k. We also have to list on enrollment forms which are updated yearly PCP and hospital we prefer if an emergency were to happen. Then the school does yearly eye and hearing test and those results are sent to your PCP you have listed on enrollment forms.

Just immunizations in USD 259 Wichita. They do dental screens and there’s an opt out card if you have a regular dentist you can put that on there. No physical is required that I remember. Any time a physical is required (playing sports mostly) any licensed dr, nurse practitioner and there’s another one that can perform it I can’t remember off the top of my head. They have a spot to list preferred hospital, on field trip forms. Listing PCP is optional and voluntary on those.

Yes. I would love LE to have her rewrite her statement leaving baby M out now, just focusing on what she did and what Lucas was doing while in her care. Napping my behind! Apparently not on the 16th while she was at OG and not on the 17th when she took a shower and napped herself. However, she might have taken a shower. That part might be true. Lord knows where she'd been!

Thanks to those who responded re: statement. It’s impossible to analyze with portions left out. Cleaning, laundry, eating and her hands seem to be the focus. She has begun her narrative.

Yes the hands. I wonder what the heck that is all about. Just a thought, since she said her hand situation is common for her. When my daughter is in dry cold weather her hands crack and chap, especially at the knuckles. I've had to put baby oil and gloves on her to help. Without this her hands become quite painful. It looks like she has tiny scratches on the top too, where it's getting too dry and chapped. This was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw EG's hands, but with Lucas missing I shot it out of my head, thinking it might have more to do with where she went and put him.

Alibi building about the condition of her hands, scratches, etc. I suppose.
I have severe arthritis in my hands and I work out in the garden everyday. They’ve never hurt enough from gardening to mention it to anybody. She’s a monster and a sissy!

I always appreciate your posts. They always leave me thinking deeply about EG. I do not know your story, but I am so glad that you are here. This is my first "websleuth's case". I cry and pray for Lucas. I will never forget this little boy and I keep bombarding heaven for justice for him.

We've paved entire cities in Heaven for Lucas sake; just as we've anchored his name & face into memories of thousands here on earth. How hard this is to endure when we don't yet have why he would be taken from all who adored or knew him, his friends & teacher have it hardest of all not knowing where their buddy went and nowhere to put those feelings (a wonderful teacher made me a fuzzy face pillow when my father died, chances are they may do something like this).

This is also my first 'case' here; I've been trying to stay out of groups while searching for missing teens, giving advice about what got results to families, and taking note of EVERYTHING. Yes, I looked into a lot of missing persons cases here to some degree prior to joining; not really a fan of that 'feature'.

As far as I can tell with missing loved ones, standing still isn't an option when there is no stable ground to walk on. The world does not go on and the last moment they were seen is the only moment left- 'Groundhog's Day' from hell with no way to take back time or change what's been done.

As far as my story is concerned, abuse looks like a spectrum of socially tolerated behaviours- most never make anyone remark but the fact of it is well known.
At the extreme ends we see a lot of fatalities, because that's the natural outcome of ignoring normalized abuse. It does not 'go away' on it's own. It escalates as the culture it's enabled within fails to address the cause and oust it.
The victim goes away. The abuser doesn't change, they simply pick a new victim and repeat the cycle (why it's vital EG NEVER HAS CONTACT WITH *ANY* CHILDREN *EVER* AGAIN- she will abuse even a 'beloved' child because that is her #1 drug of choice- feeling power over one who can't contest her use of it).

There are enough of us here who do see the world for what it is, and often why as well. I don't believe we're here for our own sakes. It's worth everything if Lucas loved ones are not alone in this.

I am so curious what this districts policy is should a child have an accident or suffer a major injury on school grounds.

Just call the guardian?!

Or are they predisposed to calling an ambulance and shipping the child off the nearest ER?

This sounds insane given my 40 years of dealing with schools and emergencies.

The short answer to your question is, they call the parent unless the situation is dire. And by that I mean, I have gotten called to the school on 2 occasions to pick up my child because he hit his head - we went straight to the ER, once he needed staples the other was very minor comparatively. Both he opened his scalp and has scars from. I’ve been called to the school because my son ‘stuck a rock in his ear and the nurse couldn’t remove it with tweezers’ - it wasn’t a rock, it was his eardrum. Many schools in Wichita don’t even have a nurse on staff for the full school day or the full school week.

As a first grade teacher,we had emergency care cards passed out on first day of school. Parents had to tell whom to call first, second, permission to go to hospital,to use an ambulance, etc. I had a child fall off the top of playground equipment. Even though his grandmother was a fellow teacher,we had to get his parents to come to the school to transport him to the ER. (That had been spelled out in the emergency card.) Parents didn't want to pull grandmother out of her own classroom to take care of their son.

Also, even if you call 911 you’re going to the nearest ER not necessarily the hospital of your choice so I’ve always wondered why they bother ask my hospital of choice personally.

In Wichita, the emergency contacts are part of the enrollment forms, filled out about 2 Weeks prior to school starting every fall. But even on these no hospital or doctor information is included.

I hear "Endo" from patients that go to Endocrinologists.
An OB/GYN would treat most patients with endometriosis, but I believe an Endocrinologist can too.

If you wish to, or are trying to, become pregnant, OB/GYN definitely. If you are trying to maintain hormone levels to help with maintenance of endometriosis, an Endocrinologist can help. I see most patients being followed by OB/GYN. As specialists, they can follow hormone levels, prescribe medications, treat symptoms, perform surgery, and address fertility issues due to endometriosis. Endometrial tissue can attach to the abdominal cavity causing much pain and a lot of physiological issues while not affecting fertility. Even a few cells of endometrial tissue can bleed and adhere into the abdominal cavity and organs. Each case is different. Short story...endometriosis is not just a reproductive problem.

Respectfully, they will take you to the next hospital “on the receiving list” unless you are trauma level. Then you go to the nearest hospital with the trauma level you require; 1, 2, or 3. Not all hospitals are trauma certified of any level. Now, with chest pain and stroke certifications for hospitals, if those are your symptoms, you go to hospitals with one of those certifications. Hospitals are placed in “districts” and “share” on the receiving” list. It rotates. It’s complicated.

Consider when it's important to EG to bring up her own feelings.

Meanwhiles, most of us in daily pain have a strong sense of not wishing to burden others with ours, and would never use it as a diversion let alone in times of intense duress (missing child search). We're too busy getting on with the distraction of living, since the pain ain't going anyplace, anytime soon.

Who the hell asked about you EG? That's right... nobody.
The entire point of calling 911 was for LE to discuss Lucas because he was reported missing.

Give me 4 days to talk about ANY kid who went missing in my vicinity, I'll find 4 days worth of things to discuss about that specific child. If I run out of things to tell, there are still questions to ASK on behalf of the missing child!

She took a break from cleaning because her hands hurt? What has that to do with the price of tea in china!?

All one has to do is look at why was that ever important or relevant to Lucas disappearance to see what a piece of work her story is.

Even with that it’s not your hospital of choice necessarily. Which was my main point.

As a verifiedE EMT, we DO ask Hospital of choice as long as the person is well enough to survive the longer trip. If you are having a cardiac event or bleeding out, we will take you to the closest ER. But if you break an arm or have a belly ache, we can drive you to a hospital of choice :-)

ETA: if you need a level one trauma center we will get you there IF you can survive the trip. If not, we take to closest and then they arrange a life flight to the hospital they need once stabilized and doc works the patient up to some degree.

I thankfully have only had to call twice in my life- once in an area with only one hospital and once in Wichita. At that time, about 16 years ago, we were told they would deliver him to the nearest ER, not hospital of his choice. It was a failed suicide attempt, for reference. He was Not in danger of dying imminently. Doing some brief googling of Wichita EMS and Sedgwick County EMS services, it seems to have changed a lot in the intervening years.
