May I ask why you would think it is anyone BUT Emily?? Did the NG podcast make you think that those theories are true?? Or something from the DA statement?? Emily killed him and now she is dead. Facing a judgement that is much more scarier than any jail time she would have ever faced. MOO

I've always read that women kill themselves "neatly" so as to not leave a mess for someone to clean up. EG didn't give two sh*ts about anyone but herself, so a shotgun suicide sounds about right for her.

I agree, but I’m hung up on the fact that she was never charged with murder. In my mind that means LE wasn’t able to substantiate evidence against EG for murder. However, we’re still waiting for autopsy results which will likely substantiate EG’s guilt one way or another.

Rifles and handguns have rifled barrels and shotguns don’t. Rifled barrels have grooves inside the barrel that make bullets spin and it gives the bullets more speed for accuracy.

Yes, but if you look at the Joe Clyde Daniels case they're moving ahead with prosecutions of the parents without a body and it's so awkward for them. I think the DA here was just hoping to avoid the same awkwardness by waiting for Lucas to be found so that they would have a more complete story to take to a jury and better evidence to counter anything defense argues.

Plus, if we take even part of what NG said about the return of LE to the home, searching the bathroom again and possibly calling that as the place of death, maybe that the date was wrong...it might well have been the right decision to hold off. The autopsy might tell them things that EG would never tell.

There are no answers that are going to heal the pain for those who loved Lucas, but I feel they deserve to know.

I don’t have an excellent grasp of the legal system, but I’m saddened charges were never brought against her in her lifetime. Lucas went missing in mid February and it’s nearly mid-June.

I wonder what could have went differently to not have this be the outcome. But I guess it’s pointless now to wallow in that pity.

How does Lucas’ case proceed if EG is determined to be the one “charged” with his death?

I do loathe EG with all my heart and my only issue with her choice was that it was self-serving and self-protecting. It just hurts everyone seeking the truth and allows her crackpot defenders more conspiracies. However, her death does make me saddened for M and her boys. This has had to of been a very confusing transition for M out of the home and her boys will be old enough to remember her and to understand that she’s gone. I do grieve for their loss and their confusion in all this mess. I hope they get real help now, because later in life this may catch up to them. Hugs to all 3 of those kiddos.

And Lucas. I will always grieve for you and the life you should have lived. That sadness will never go away. I think all of us here on WS have been changed & impacted by you. We love you and will continue to seek your truth.

I'm thrilled that David came in and found Lucas. However, an old scar on her wrist doesn't mean she attempted suicide before. She could have just self injured in the past.

Right now it is being investigated as a suicide and is an open investigation. Poor choice of headlines, imo, yes she was shot, yes she is dead..

“Shot to death” usually implies someone else shot the person . Moo.

I'm not surprised Nancy doesn't refer to it as a suicide.
After Melinda Duckett's suicide was blamed on her she knows better.
I think it's very likely that the things JH was saying and pending autopsy reports are what pushed her over the edge. So it's totally possible that Nancy could get blamed again here.

EG wasn't beaten to death. She was shot ONE TIME. That isn't the act of an out of control parent seeking revenge. It's the act of a calculating person seeking to punish.

Back story:

Caylee Anthony. We didn't have cable so I'd never heard of NG at the time.

Although, I was (at the time) close friends with the pastor and the family in Stuart FL that took in CA, after the fact, and kept her hidden from the public, for safety reasons. At the time (and still to this day, actually) there was a TON of misinfo being leaked to the media because everyone wanted their disgusting 15 minutes of fame. It worked like a charm, and the NG show was a big part of it. Possibly unwittingly. I will give them that benefit of the doubt.

BUT, when I see stuff like the podcast today, it's hard not to question NG's moral compass and where she draws a line.

I really did. But I also didn’t know she did podcasts until this case came up. I only know her from HLN I guess the standards are different.

I guess I don’t get out much so to speak. Don’t judge!! Lol honestly. I didn’t even know THIS site existed until a couple months ago! I wouldn’t of known had I not been so invested in this case I was on FB groups. WS kept being brought up well trashed on , I don’t comment much in groups. But google is my friend so I found my way here.

Charges were brought against EG. She had a jury trial for child endangerment for taking her infant daughter MH to Olive Garden while allegedly high on marijuana. The jury acquitted her, largely because there was no evidence that she was actually intoxicated when she drove. Lucas was still missing at the time.

Then, the PI came, earned her trust/manipulated her and they found Lucas on the second day he spent with her. That was a combination of him taking her to places that LE had narrowed down, telling her it will be alright, and reading her body language as they drove. EG was arrested that night for obstruction of justice and providing false information to law enforcement.

After 72 business hours, she was released. The DA was not ready to proceed with those charges, likely because that would start the process of turning information over to EG's attorney. The DA likely wanted to wait for the rest of the investigation and autopsy to play out before showing any cards. So, she was released while LE and the DA built a case.

They are not to blame for the suicide. Only one person is. LE and the DA were making the best decisions to try to get a potential murder charge to stick.

As to how Lucas's case proceeds, it would have to be with charges against someone living. If EG is the only wrongdoer, there will be no trial.

But, the DA has said he is committed to pursuing the investigation until he is able to provide the family and the community with all the answers he can.

When the Delphi case broke (Abby and Libby), I think we were going through 2 threads per day for a while. Dylan Redwine and Holly Bobo's cases were also fast moving to the point of more than one thread per day for some time. I'm sure I'm missing other cases. But this case is getting up there with some of those in numbers of threads per week. When we start having days like this where 1 or 2 new threads are needed within 24 hours, it definitely keeps the moderators hopping.
