Been lurking on WS for a few months now, but Lucas is in my state and it just shatters my heart completely to know he still hasn’t been found. Sending all my prayers to Lucas’ family in this troubling time and hoping that we’ll get some answers—fast. :(

:welcome:

BBM I gotta wonder about this also. My niece and her child lived with me for a short time and the child's father/paternal grandparents would periodically report my niece to DCF for various reasons, accusing her of different things (drug use, neglect, say there was violence in my home, etc). Every time they had a report DCF would come out and talk to my grand-niece, me and my niece, look around my home, etc. Anyway, on one of their visits the caseworker mentioned in passing they did a background check on me. I asked what the extent of the check was and she said they only checked for outstanding warrants and criminal convictions and if my name appeared in internal DCF documents. So if that is standard operating procedure (which I'm going to speculate it is for DCF in abuse investigations) how on earth did they miss EG's criminal history and certainly her history with DCF. My guess...someone either screwed up or got seriously lazy.

OT: For anyone not following little Gabriel Fernandez's murder case, there is an upcoming pre trial hearing 4/26/18 for several LA county social workers who are charged with felony child abuse and falsifying public records. This may be a landmark case. Here is a link to sweet Gabriel's thread here on WS. https://www.websleuths.com/forums/s...mdale-22-May-2013&highlight=Gabriel+Fernandez

Wait. Let me see if I got this right.
In her paperwork to get unsupervised visitation for her older two kids, she wrote that she had been the primary caretaker of Lucas for a year and a half.
Now, didn't this judge or really ANYONE involved in this case have a little red flag go up at reading that? As in: this court has deemed her not fit enough to have unsupervised visits, but oh, she's ok to completely care for a different child. Why didn't they put a stop to that? Another failing point, in my opinion.

Can somebody please zoom in the topo map posted above and embed an image within the thread? Tia.

It would be great if we could overlap a satellite view too....

Very interesting indeed, hence geological...sand, clay, rock formations, ykwim...

(There's this old conversation I had with Foxfire re: "very interesting..."...I'll see if I can find it...)

Eta: And I want to know what animal farted when in that Nature Preserve.

I would like an answer to that question as well! Lucas wasn't a damn guinea pig- he was a little tot that deserved to be loved, spoiled, and well taken care of. How in God's name this monster was allowed to watch him for even a night by herself is deplorable to me! How did Lucas' father not know this about her, why did he get all angry in that article because family members that loved Lucas were upset and concerned because of all the bruising, yet he chose to stand by and defend this witch? He deserves to be arrested for child endangerment himself! I know that might ruffle a couple of feather on here, but I don't care and please don't respond to me to try and convince me otherwise because I won't change my mind!!!!!

Welcome to WebSleuths. The reason you found WS is sad.
I continue to hope and pray that he will be found soon.
I do wonder if EG has shared any info with LE?

We're almost on thread 5, and STILL no Lucas. I don't like the thought of that. Poor fella hasn't had a chance to know 'real life'!! Darn shame. His entire life is a darn shame. It should never have been this way! NEVER! We worry about 'the boogy man' and it's the parents/step parents/girlfriend/boyfriend in the majority of the cases!! Sickening.

(O/T, we could write a book on how many bodies have been found in parks....)

Any chance they have and we don't know about it? Tia.

Anything is possible. Now that I think about it, they would not have to bring in boats, just divers. I guess I was relying on thinking someone would have reported divers being there but I am not sure anyone would have seen them.

Hi not from US. But in usual circumstances would a person who has such strict court orders that basically cover her older ones wellbeing physically and emotionally, not have automatic checks when other children come into her care. I realise that they may not have known of Lucas but the baby would be recorded as hers and if an red flags or automatic check is done they would discover any additional children in her care. Is this something that was missed or not usually done.

( )

Eta: But they seem to be focused on the land specifically? Do we have links for that? Tia.)
