I really don’t think that driving on a restricted license would have stopped her from going anywhere. People drive on restricted/suspended licenses for years, they make sure to obey traffic laws. In VA the interstate traffic cameras don’t even save license plate photos unless there’s an active search for or warrant out for the owner of the vehicle. If her tags were good and especially if the vehicle was registered to someone else, I wouldn’t put it past her to drive wherever she wanted to go.

Yeah, restricted licenses usually stop no one, however, if she were transporting, I'd bet she had a legal driver. Too risky. If she got pulled over, and no Ls, and/or no insurance, she's caught. I've a feeling she had help.

I just had a thought that Lucas didn't go missing at the house or the apartment. That is why there was no forensic team there or the house was never taped off. The car was never towed in either cause EG didn't transport Lucas in the car.

For some reason this is why LE has been focused at the parks. I think something in the interview of EG pointed them in this direction. There was no sign of Lucas going missing at the home and no evidence of an accident of any kind. This is why LE isn't looking any further than where they are.

I may be way off in this thinking, I don't get the impression that EG is the smartest cookie. I don't think like some of you she would want to drive around with a dead child in the car. Plus LE wasn't too interested in he car.

This is jmo and rambling thoughts and not set in stone.

I fully agree—I’m from the Marion area too, chihuahua! Hello!
Morning! I missed this last night but wanted to let you know I'm not from that area or even Kansas at all.
I'm glad for your input on the bird situation.
I'm also sorry if I offended anyone by posting the info. I've researched and been active in WS many times over the years and many of us know how crucial these intelligent birds can be in recoveries. Like in the Hannah Graham case.
Keeping the :candle: burning bright for little Lucas.

She frequently drove - the restricted license didn’t stop her.

I had a dream this morning they found Lucas in the woods somewhere next to a large tree off of a walking trail a few miles from home. He had a batman figurine and a small red fire truck buried with him. I woke up with a start and started shaking. I'm obviously thinking of this precious little boy even in my sleep. I hope to forget this dream soon, it really upset me and I'm still shaking and teary eyed just thinking of him. Praying the family gets answers soon, wishing and hoping he's alive somewhere, safe, warm and happy.

:grouphug: I think a lot of us are suffering from the dreams and thoughts also. Hugs to you.
We all wish he is somewhere safe and happy.
I've lost a lot of sleep over Lucas too.

Thank you, Kadoober!! I'm embedding this within the thread so we can internally quote, etc. You rock!

R:There's obviously a lot of rumors going on, a lot of things people are saying, about your stepson Lucas, just curious if there's anything that you want to say about that situation.

E: Um, yeah, um, in the past, you know, there's been times he's, been a boy, and um playing with his older brothers, and his cousins, um, he gets bruises, and he has had some falls, um, falls either could be cooking dinner, or at the park, um... (long pause, looking down) Um. I'm sorry, this is really hard on me.

He fell when cooking dinner? Is that when she gets impatient and smacks him around? When she's cooking dinner?

Thank you, chihuahua. It was just so damn vivid and the figurine and truck stood out to me- both were small. I didn't see him per se, but the small mound with one protruding from the dirt. That was graphic enough for me.......

You're right how he's in our thoughts. I have a nephew with the same name only a year older. Maybe that's another reason why this is so upsetting to me.

Or does this mean there were burns at some point?

Sorry to quote myself, but I forgot to add one more thing besides it being a small red fire truck, was that this trail wasn't in park with a playground and picnic tables, but one of those walking trails that you can park your car and get out and hike. It was off one of the trails about 30 or so feet away near a big tree. It was just so dar gone vivid, it's bothering me. Perhaps I should eat breakfast and do something to get my mind off of this, what an awful nightmare. :(

Nice catch, Wyle.
That is an odd circumstance to mention falls/bruises.
The only thing I can think of would be a step stool being used to reach the counter and falling off of that? But how many times would a kid need to fall and get bruises from that before a parent would come up with an alternative method for helping in the kitchen? (Like sitting at the kitchen table and helping there?) Just an odd thing to mention for normal falls and injuries.

I agree it is strange. And you all are probably right that it has a grain of truth to it.

On the other hand, I wonder if she had some court ordered parenting classes, if this is regurgitating what she learned there. I could see a lesson in what is and is not an acceptable distraction from the kids in your care. Sleeping, doing drugs, leaving kids home alone...not ok. Making dinner, taking a quick shower, normal bumps & bruises from being a kid...ok from a legal perspective.

Quick update: TEQ isn’t requesting the help of community volunteers at this time.

Residents are still encouraged to check their private property, ponds and outbuildings.

The community is still welcome to conduct their own public searches and to contact WPD if they find anything suspicious.

FLA will probably check in shortly. They’ve had a very busy day.

Thanks for all of your support. You guys are awesome!

Thanks for the update! Glad to see they are asking residents to check their properties too. That could be a huge help.

Weather update: Very windy again. Sustained at about 22-25 mph with gusts to 35. Slight chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon. High fire danger.

LE should go back to the house and have the dogs sniff out the flower bed. I just can't help but wonder since a neighbor claimed to have seen EG and the little girl at the flowerbed.

Hmmmm. Still not sure she'd want to drive with a dead child in the car (so sorry) and unless 4-6 Friday is when she did it, I'd expect her to go at night and there would be a higher chance of being stopped ESPECIALLY if she was known to police.

Howeverrrrr, IF something happened at the OLD house while they were cleaning/moving, I think those have potential, especially if within walking distance (no one questions a lady pushing a stroller)

If he was driven, I'm just not sure she was the driver. Who would bail her out and take that risk to protect her?

About scent dogs...so strange after watching them track Maricela and even indicate where she crouched, sat and hid, I was a HUGE believer in them. But then they completely walked right past where Blaze Bernstein was buried so my faith has been shaken. I'd still like to see the deck torn up, too. And despite them hiding her identity at first, I'd still expect the media to have video of the house search that they can now release. It's ALWAYS a big deal when a home is taped off and searched and vehicles are taken. I really don't think they did that in this case and I don't understand why. Last seen place with history of abusive parent, no abduction yet didn't walk out....leads me to believe that obviously if anything happened there, he was carried out OR is still in/around the house.....ORRRR the crime didn't actually happen there and they know that to be fact.
Maybe the new construction IS the right area because he was hurt at the old house.
Gosh I just want to find him and he's so small, he could be hidden anywhere.

I have also been wondering if they removed the vehicles or not. I don't see why the wouldn't remove them. In my opinion, I think the crime had happened at the previous residence. In thread #6, I had mentioned that maybe the crime did happen during the apartment clean up. And, EG did something with him when she was taking out the trash or something. Neighbors were probably used to her yelling and making a loud noise, so maybe they didn't think anything of commotion if there was any. LE could look at the apartment security tapes, to see if Lucas was there and if he even left the apartment.

That bugged me too!
Especially because I saw somewhere that his Mom said he likes to help cook and make dinner. :( I couldn't help but imagine him wanting to help and maybe being punished for it, broke my heart.

This. I keep coming back to the seemingly strange fact that WE at least have no knowledge of them towing cars or being interested much in the cars (unless I’ve missed that which is possible but it’s such a big indicator, IMO). Do we have any hard confirmation that cadaver dogs were brought through the house? Because if they were and they didn’t hit on the house nor the car, I’m very agreeable to the idea that whenever happened didn’t happen there, and that transport didn’t involve the car (unless it involved a car we don’t know about that has yet to be brought to light and searched.

Also, regarding her interview. Her statement is very odd in regards to the falls, saying “falls could either be cooking dinner...or at the park”. Could either be? This is not a normal speech pattern when recounting past events, IMO. This is giving examples of how something COULD happen but not how something DID. Am I making sense? Just look at “falls could either be”, focus on that and try to use that naturally in recalling past situations. It’s not adding up for me, right there. One might be more likely to say, IMO, for example, “he has fallen while cooking dinner, or at the park”.
