Not to defend her AT ALL but I've been guilty of this n i LOOOOOOVE my furbabies. Idk how their credit is but if it's not so good, you kinda gotta go with whoever is willing to let you in, no matter what's specified about pets. I'm ashamed to say I'm guilty of sticking cats in a car n driving down the street with them when the landlord showed up to visit with my then husband. Despite the no pets rule, we were having trouble finding a place and took that house with no intention of giving our babies away. We just took SUPER good care of his property and hid the kitties when needed.
Yes, judge me if you want but I just couldn't bring myself to give them away and didn't want to be homeless.
Of course, maybe it was JH cat and EG hated it. Just showing another option cuz God forbid a helpless little kitty felt her wrath, too (imo)
And I also said a long time ago that I DEFINITELY think she is a passive aggressive narcissist for sure so nail on the head with that lol.
She took pix of both Lucas and the cat when they were cute.

THANK YOU!!!!! I have seen people question why the bio dad of EG's children did nothing about it until she was arrested, but he clearly did the next day when he went to the police. I knew I read that he went the next day. As I tried explaining to people over and over and over again that it takes time to investigate these allegations- LE has to interview the kids, EG, JH, and any other potential witnesses, if any. They have to set up a court date, and there are times when a social worker is involved and does their own interviews as well as recommendations, along with LE's. Unfortunately, these things can take weeks before you get into the court room, unless it's an emergency case and the child's safety is in jeopardy at that moment, to which the boys were safe with the father.

I feel like we've been trying to explain things to the same people :gaah:

(OT margarita thank you so much. Your thoughts and prayers mean more than you know. So glad to see you on Lucas' thread, too)

(Talk about having feet on the ground in Kansas, you guys should have seen this woman's feet on the ground in CA during Maricela's case...)

McLean Park in Park City is another place I am interested in searching.

(Pink, is there a certain reason, or just because it's a park? Tia. )

Here are a few evil stpemoms. But most of the stepmom accused of murder did the killing with the husbands, sickly enough.

Here are a few that worked alone.... :

‘Pure evil’: Stepmother put 4-year-old in scalding water, which led to his death, prosecutors say

April 19, 2016

On a morning last month, Robert Ritchie III awoke to find that his son was not breathing. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that he sobbed into the phone to the police dispatcher: “I think my son died.”

The dispatcher asked Ritchie to try resuscitating the 4-year-old. “He is stiff as a board,” Ritchie cried.

His paternal instincts were right. Upon arrival at the Atrium Medical Center, in Middletown, Ohio, Austin Derreck Cooper was pronounced dead of shock from blood and fluid loss.

David Fornshell, the Warren County prosecutor, announced at a news conference Monday that Austin’s 25-year-old stepmother, Anna Ritchie, has been indicted on charges of murder, involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault and endangering children.

Fornshell told reporters Monday that Ritchie was resentful of being the primary caretaker of a child who was not biologically hers (she and Robert assumed guardianship of Austin in January). Ritchie allegedly considered the scalding bath a punishment, holding Austin in waters of approximately 134 degrees for up to 25 minutes.

Mom of Toddler Allegedly Abused by His Stepmother Speaks Out

JULY 27, 2017

OAKLAND -- There's a devastated mother at the hospital right now forced with making the toughest decision of her life -- to take her 2-year-old son off life support after he suffered abuse that she says could have been prevented.

"He didn't deserve this, he was only 2 he had his whole life ahead of him," said Brittany Gonzales, Jackson's mom.

You can see the heartbreak on her face and hear the devastation in her voice.

Her son Jackson was beaten so badly he's being kept alive by machines.

From December 2016 to June 2017 Child Protective Services in San Joaquin County says there were seven reports of abuse against the toddler. According to CPS, Maynard was never specifically named as the abuser.

Gonzales says not enough was done to protect her child.

Mikey Habbestad with San Joaquin County CPS says on behalf of this family CPS has received 14 reports - seven of which involve Jackson.

Reports have been filed in both San Joaquin County and Stanislaus County.

The reports involving Jackson include:

1 in Dec 2016
1 in Feb 2017
2 in March 2017
1 in April 2017
2 in June 2017

Of the seven reports made about Jackson, CPS only responded to three of them.

Missing Girl Was Dismembered by Stepmother

Zahra Baker was reported missing from her Hickory, North Carolina, home on October 9, 2010. A month later, the 10-year-old's dismembered remains were found. The girl, who was disabled and deaf, was murdered by her stepmother, Elisa Baker.

Elisa confessed to police, explaining that Zahra actually died two weeks before she reported her missing. She dismembered her body to conceal Zahra's identity. In September 2011, Elisa pled guilty and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Stepmother Rapes and Kills 2-year-old Stepdaughter

Renee King sexually assaulted two-year-old toddler, Lily Furneaux-Wolfenbarger, and slammed her head against the floor in November 2010 while her father was at work. The girl's head was slammed into the ground at least 20 times by her stepmother, killing her.

When Lily was taken to the hospital, her father told her birth mother, Lauren Furneaux, that Renee had fallen on her in the shower. In February 2015, a jury found King guilty of murder and sentenced her to life in prison. The prosecution explained King killed Lily because she had "acted up"

The post about evil step moms made me really sad and sick to my stomach. I think I need to take a break. I'm not religious but I will be hoping with all of my heart tonight that Lucas is found soon, and justice is meted out to those who are responsible for his disappearance.

There are some. One of the places I’ve thought might be worth checking out is north of Park City, off I35 out by the Kansas Coliseum. It used to be THE place where all the big concerts were held, trade shows, big events, hockey games, etc. There was also the Greyhound Park where the dog races were held. It’s been closed for a number of years and the Coliseum is still used for things like dog shows and RV shows. There is a big campground out there too. I remember reading that EG’s boys live out in Park City and everybody whose lived in this area in the past 5 years or more has been out to the Coliseum before. It’s way out in the county but she could get there quickly by getting on Kellogg and then taking the I35 ramp.

Pink just also mentioned Park City....

Think about it, if something happened on 2/11, the cat could have run out in the chaos.
Or if the owners showed up,
She could have put it out and it began to wander in an unfamiliar area.
The two people that showed up took the cat with them and turned it in as a stray and a microchip had EG cell # and she went to get it back?

The cat fits in somewhere in this tragedy!

You have to remember, EG was moving at the time. And with young kids and a boyfriend whose “status” is questionable (was he in town, out of town, living in the house, kicked out of the house, etc) that in and of itself is enough to run a cat off. Especially if the cat’s in unfamiliar surroundings.

So, I'm behind on the cat stuff, did she go to the Humane Society?
(And if so, what are potential search areas near there? If not, please disregard.)

I think your parents might have wanted to play on it inside....

Maybe they pretended to not know it wouldn't fit because they was the cover story?

Nah, I didn't find out about this until I had kids. They were just too stoned to realize. :shame:

( O/T:

"In November 2010, Elisa Baker started leading police to different areas in Catawba County and Caldwell County to find Zahra's scattered remains. Numerous bones of Zahra were found but Zahra's head was not found until some years later.[11]*Allegedly, Elisa had told police she threw Zahra's mattress in a dumpster, and police confirmed the mattress fitting the description was found in a landfill.[12] Elisa Baker also led the police to another dumpster, behind a grocery store in Hudson, where she and Adam dumped a car cover and bed cover, which was used to hide and transport Zahra. Elisa also told police they would find Zahra's body parts in the drain trap of the bathtub and that plastic gloves that she used would be found in her bathroom.[3]"

*still looking for mileage

Eta:

"She was allowed to accompany police the following two days to sites within about 15 miles of Hickory."

I'm anticipating "Obstruction of Justice" charges soon to possibly follow, moo.

So if he's closeby, he sure has been hidden well imo, with so many folks and LE groups searching...I remember in Malik's case they searched every square inch closeby, the mayor even said, iirc, that even lost cat couldn't hide, the searches were so extensive.

Which makes me wonder again, maybe he is nowhere nearby at all...? I know some of you have had similar thoughts...

And FTR I haven't heard of anyone being officially cleared yet, if this makes sense.

Has it been stated yet what Lucas had for dinner the previous night?

True, but why bring the cat when you know per the contract you signed that it isn't even allowed to be in the home you rent?

Margarita, I take Lily's second last name off and only use Furneaux because I don't feel her father deserves for her to carry his name. Just FYI.

Well, EG could have lied about it. Maybe the cat was “living” with JH since EG says she kicked him out!

It could be an outdoor cat, or got out of the apartment while the door was left open for moving. All of Fox Run’s apartments open directly to the outside instead of into a hallway, even the upstairs ones, so he could have gotten out then.

I think it’s safe to assume EG shouldn’t be considered telling the truth about anything unless it’s verified and backed up by proof.

Hi all. I already checked with the mods and Tricia and have been given permission to post this link to the 🤬🤬🤬 for Texas Equusearch. This 🤬🤬🤬 was set up solely for Texas Equusearch to offset some costs associated with searching for Lucas. The total requested is $2,000. Once the money they are requesting is raised, all mentions of the fundraiser will be removed.

I hope that anyone who wants to donate to the family is referred to this.
Really there is nothing more important than finding Lucas.
This is really where the money should be going, to the search.
They are halfway to their goal but certainly they may spend far more than their goal.
I hope not, I hope they find him tomorrow!

Honestly, I think the listed goal is just a fraction of what the real costs are going to be. How long did they help look for little Caylee? Then sued Casey for $100k to recoup their losses because she already knew that Caylee was dead. IIR, they made two separate trips, meaning one cost around $50k. I've donated a bit, and hope to donate more when my tax refund shows up. TES truly deserves every penny we can muster. They are amazing.

That's why I'm hoping the fundraiser goes long after the goal is met.
