Um, phone rang, I was laying sideways on the couch, phone was on the arm of the chair, I reached overhead and read the readout.

Convo: I answered the phone, hello, and the first thing V said was "are you awake". I just said "yah". She said you need to come get the boys. I don't think I responded to her. At that point I was getting up off the couch - I automatically thought she went somewhere with the boys (that was the sound I heard earlier). I started to get up to look through the office window to see if car was there. I didn't respond to what she said...just trying to figure out was going on.

I remember, I, I, still didn't respond. But I had been bent over seeing through the window, but I stood up - where are you? Why would the boys get hurt? Where are you (these are thoughts).
Um, I started to take a step or 2 towards the stairs, to make sure they're gone, and I don't know if the phone was at my ear or not, but I don't remember any convo with V after that. I was at the stairs where the LR meets the Foyer.
I was standing right about here - through the windows, to see the driveway. I stood up and was right about here (at the boys playtable). Hears a creaking noise from the ceiling (below bedroom).
Almost simultaneously - creaking noise was heard - like someone taking steps, it was like a creak of every floorboard in the room being stepped on once. Substantially louder than someone walking. I turned to look at the ceiling - almost when I had my head turned I heard the first bang, first pop.
I took off running to the stairs.
I ran up the stairs.
