WAT has color bars...with Kansas Broadcasting System. How decorative. I can't get my kids off Special Agent Oso for anything right now lol.
I took one look at BS and his eyes are just dark and evil. As a citizen I would have not felt safe in his presence. He has the look that Raven Abaroa and Jason Young had...dark, haughty, just no soul behind those eyes. Reading posts and catching WAT's tweets...I am seeing and hearing so many similar things I have read up in the Intimate Parter Abuse area.....they follow a pattern because its the same type of people that kill their partner or former partner, and they do and say similar things. He is following the RA and JY playbook perfectly, with shades of JA. Vashti never had a chance.

During the course of the first interview did you tell chief holloway what had occurred..

" to the best of my knowledge"

This is the worst direct ever...

  • #1,223
Sure...you call a counselor first to figure out how to tell the kids "mommy's dead", yet you don't call her family. This guy is a <mod snip>.

You don't tell a 2 and 4 year old ANYTHING right away...nor would this be anyone's first thought. Unless, you were staging a scene.

Unless also... your children noticed you did something wrong and you want them to shoosh it.

I wonder if the kids remember anything and are able to recall. Shades of Josh Powell :(

IF he had bare feet and stepped THROUGH fire, he would have singed hair all over, including his head, most likely.

Oh, you step through fire and you only get burns on the top of your feet?

BS!

JMHO

Stepped through fire. He says he had burns so he had to get them somewhere.

Whispering I can almost hear from attorneys about something bad in notes and something marked.

  • #1,226
Exhibits being offered...

Photos identified as taken by sowers..

  • #1,227
I can't imagine that notes outlining what happened and having the defendant review them as he testifies will make the jury very suspicious of this man and his testimony. He is admitting to knowing all the details about it since the notes write it all out. So why wouldn't this knowledge be burned into his brain?

IMO because the story is a total fabrication and he needs notes because it isn't reality.

Do you guys get the impression that this <mod snip> is ENJOYING being on the stand? He sounds like he is portraying an expert witness, not a murder suspect. Puke.

  • #1,229
Doesn't that just beat the band?!? I guess he didn't dare use the I went into a fog defense but cheat sheets to remember your answers???

Should be interesting when the Prosecutor gets an opportunity to speak with him. Cheat sheet won't help much when he has to answer in an unrehearsed manner.

No wait. They were taken by Agent Moore..

Burns to top of your right and left foot..

" More apparent burns on left foot.. "

Objection...

Sustained..... :)

I had burns and redness, blistering, pretty good turns on the toe. Melted plastic on my foot.. "

Foot injuries:
burns to his toes
melted plastic on his foot
blisters

when the photos were taken the melted plastic was still on his foot. the plastic came off a couple of days later.

State exhibits #61 + #62 show the burns and blistering

  • #1,232
This is BS! ONLY blistering on top of feet?!

Toes?

Oh, puhleeze!

Top and sides, he probably dropped gasoline on his own feet.

I wonder if Mr Seacat wore his sneakers without any socks and got those blisters from that.

  • #1,234
He is apparently pointing to the injuries that occurred on his feet.

I made a phone call to my parents, which lasted about a minute.

You have in front of you a timeline?

The call that I made to my parents while I was still at my house was, um, I hung up on them at 3:58 AM.

So within seconds of that you heard someone yelling something?

The convo with my parents ended when I heard sgt. sowers yelling?

Any dispute with what Sgt.Sowers said in court?

No.

Yes, I tell SS that we needed to get the car out of there, because smoke was going into the driveway. I told SS I would take them (boys/dogs) to the station.

I left the key to the VW in the house

Transferred boys to another vehicle with doggies.

Sometime during the process the doggies jumped into the backseat with the boys. Moved everybody to the Ford Ranger.

Just as I was comin round the back of the truck to leave, there is a tree on the SW corner, and it caught on fire. Oh no, the outdoor dog is in her pen, so I had to drag the outdoor doggie out of her pen (forget about the wife).

Went straight to the LAC

I don't know when I arrived - sometime between 4:00 and 4:02 (LOL).

I was calling Connie Suderman's office number.

No one responded - got a recording, after hours number.

If I remember right, I actually, I got the recording of the number, and I didn't remember the number correctly, so I called Suderman's office again to get the number, then called again.

I called again and talked to Susan. I suppose part of the clerical staff, as she didn't respond to me needing a therapist, or someone to help with the boys.

Degreen (sp) called back. No deets given.

EMT saw him on the phone with Degreen. Moved from the lobby of the LEC to the Kitchen to make phone calls. The EMT was treating him while he was in the kitchen. Took vitals, and other was taking care of feet.

Mom/Dad arrived at LEC. He told them what he knew -- told them to get the boys outta there. Mom/Dad took the boys (don't want any witnesses around...4 year olds can talk don't ya know - that's me).

Father comes back -- but a lot of that is a blur (or a fog) :) 2 calls from Degreen, I don't remember why...I think I dropped my phone, and Degreen called back almost immediately. (ze fog, ze fog).

Note introduced into evidence (#84). Permission to publish.

Is that your handwriting sir?

Excitable handwriting, but yes, that is my handwriting?

I created the document while I was on the phone with Degreen. Rec'd pencil and paper from LEC.

3 points at the top of the paper.

Calm - Died - Accident (Defense objects as heresay). Judge sustains the objection.

Created note so I could remember what to do.

I was calling Degreen, i, I didn't know what was going on, mumble, I never encountered anything like this before. I didn't know how to tell my kids that their mom just shot herself. The boys knew that mommy wasn't there. What came to my mind was to call the counselor.

The phone numbers on the note are 3 different numbers for V's parents.

Yes, much later on, I wrote the numbers on the note paper (I was going to attempt to call them).

whisper: pictures of his feet (from defense counsel).

I was questioned by Chief Holloway.

Uh, there were 2 separate interviews. One at 4:57 AM, and 2:02 PM.

I determined the timeline given in the affidavit.

Told CH what occurred to the best of my knowledge.

Told CH that he went/ran through fire

Not "IN" the fire.

Stepped in fire -- not run IN fire.

I responded each time that I stepped in fire, but then I said I stepped through fire (confusing much)?

I assumed that I stepped through fire to get to V. (the problem here seems to be stepping ON fire or stepping THROUGH fire).

Burns all around my feet, actually.

More whispering from defense team. Have these been marked?

Exhibits/photos being shown of burns on the feet

You had burns to the top of your feet?

More apparent burns on the left feet, blistering on the right foot.

What all injuries did you have to your feet?

I had burns, redness, blistering in spots, I had pretty good burns on the toe - straight black burns. I didn't know it at the time, but melted plastic on my foot.

The plastic didn't come off until 1 to 2 days later, then it peeled off.

The real good shots are #62, #61, those are pretty good close ups of the burns to the toe of the left foot.

Both exhibits show blistering to the side edge of the foot, and middle toes.

(BS steps away from microphone - can't really hear).

burns on the back of the heel. Here's another blister, here's the plastic fragments.

I can see singeing up to here (referencing photo) as to hair being singed on his leg (poor widdle guy - sounds awfully brutal for a man who walked through flames).

Can hardly wait!

He should have burns on his hands if he opened a door where it was clearly on fire, and the fire was on both sides of the door.. .
