I made a phone call to my parents, which lasted about a minute.
You have in front of you a timeline?
The call that I made to my parents while I was still at my house was, um, I hung up on them at 3:58 AM.
So within seconds of that you heard someone yelling something?
The convo with my parents ended when I heard sgt. sowers yelling?
Any dispute with what Sgt.Sowers said in court?
No.
Yes, I tell SS that we needed to get the car out of there, because smoke was going into the driveway. I told SS I would take them (boys/dogs) to the station.
I left the key to the VW in the house
Transferred boys to another vehicle with doggies.
Sometime during the process the doggies jumped into the backseat with the boys. Moved everybody to the Ford Ranger.
Just as I was comin round the back of the truck to leave, there is a tree on the SW corner, and it caught on fire. Oh no, the outdoor dog is in her pen, so I had to drag the outdoor doggie out of her pen (forget about the wife).
Went straight to the LAC
I don't know when I arrived - sometime between 4:00 and 4:02 (LOL).
I was calling Connie Suderman's office number.
No one responded - got a recording, after hours number.
If I remember right, I actually, I got the recording of the number, and I didn't remember the number correctly, so I called Suderman's office again to get the number, then called again.
I called again and talked to Susan. I suppose part of the clerical staff, as she didn't respond to me needing a therapist, or someone to help with the boys.
Degreen (sp) called back. No deets given.
EMT saw him on the phone with Degreen. Moved from the lobby of the LEC to the Kitchen to make phone calls. The EMT was treating him while he was in the kitchen. Took vitals, and other was taking care of feet.
Mom/Dad arrived at LEC. He told them what he knew -- told them to get the boys outta there. Mom/Dad took the boys (don't want any witnesses around...4 year olds can talk don't ya know - that's me).
Father comes back -- but a lot of that is a blur (or a fog)

2 calls from Degreen, I don't remember why...I think I dropped my phone, and Degreen called back almost immediately. (ze fog, ze fog).
Note introduced into evidence (#84). Permission to publish.
Is that your handwriting sir?
Excitable handwriting, but yes, that is my handwriting?
I created the document while I was on the phone with Degreen. Rec'd pencil and paper from LEC.
3 points at the top of the paper.
Calm - Died - Accident (Defense objects as heresay). Judge sustains the objection.
Created note so I could remember what to do.
I was calling Degreen, i, I didn't know what was going on, mumble, I never encountered anything like this before. I didn't know how to tell my kids that their mom just shot herself. The boys knew that mommy wasn't there. What came to my mind was to call the counselor.
The phone numbers on the note are 3 different numbers for V's parents.
Yes, much later on, I wrote the numbers on the note paper (I was going to attempt to call them).
whisper: pictures of his feet (from defense counsel).
I was questioned by Chief Holloway.
Uh, there were 2 separate interviews. One at 4:57 AM, and 2:02 PM.
I determined the timeline given in the affidavit.
Told CH what occurred to the best of my knowledge.
Told CH that he went/ran through fire
Not "IN" the fire.
Stepped in fire -- not run IN fire.
I responded each time that I stepped in fire, but then I said I stepped through fire (confusing much)?
I assumed that I stepped through fire to get to V. (the problem here seems to be stepping ON fire or stepping THROUGH fire).
Burns all around my feet, actually.
More whispering from defense team. Have these been marked?
Exhibits/photos being shown of burns on the feet
You had burns to the top of your feet?
More apparent burns on the left feet, blistering on the right foot.
What all injuries did you have to your feet?
I had burns, redness, blistering in spots, I had pretty good burns on the toe - straight black burns. I didn't know it at the time, but melted plastic on my foot.
The plastic didn't come off until 1 to 2 days later, then it peeled off.
The real good shots are #62, #61, those are pretty good close ups of the burns to the toe of the left foot.
Both exhibits show blistering to the side edge of the foot, and middle toes.
(BS steps away from microphone - can't really hear).
burns on the back of the heel. Here's another blister, here's the plastic fragments.
I can see singeing up to here (referencing photo) as to hair being singed on his leg (poor widdle guy - sounds awfully brutal for a man who walked through flames).
