Oh great, now we have conflicting stores from MSM on whether Grandma is even being brought up in charges. Gotta love MSM.
JerseyGirl posted a link to an older story that was already linked earlier on this thread. The newer story is what is current.

Bullitt County grandmother cited after 2-year-old's disappearance

A hearing to decide who will take custody of Charlee wrapped up Wednesday morning. Before it started, Charlee's grandmother, Beth Campbell, was issued a citation for endangering the welfare of a child.

Tinnell says he requested a search warrant to get access to a tablet and two cell phones. That request was denied, so he is trying again.

"Right now we are drawing up a search warrant as we speak and trying to document our probable cause to believe we should get into those phones and those devices and find out if there is any information in those phones that would lead to some kind of foul play," Tinnell said.

The only comment family members had on their way out of court was: "We want Charlee back."

With only grandpa working, and grandma doing drugs, they probably want to keep her for the monetary benefit that is received from the state...MOO

While that is possibility it seemed that grandpa really demonstrated that he really loved her when she was found, at least it appeared to be in the videos.

Now, Mom and grandma can type all day long on Facebook how much they love Charlee and it doesn’t mean anything. Apparently they love meth and violent sexual offenders more.

The Campbell family has been called for their family court custody hearing. @WDRBNews

The Campbell family left the courtroom without doing interviews with us. I asked what happened in court and they said they couldn’t tell me but said “We want Charlee back.” Family court cases are sealed so I could not be inside the courtroom and can’t access documents.

The Sheriff says Beth Campbell was served a criminal citation for endangering the welfare of a child this morning. He says he does not know what happened in the family court hearing or where Charlee is now.

Despite conflicting reports, I have a physical copy of Beth Campbell’s citation. It says she was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and will be in court to answer this charge on June 25.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up or not (I'm behind) but they mentioned tick bites. I'm assuming there were ticks attached to her body. No one is going to look at a red bump and assume "tick bite" since mosquito is more likely. But I mean they ought to be able to make estimates of how long different ticks were on her body based on the amount of engorgement. And while I also find the situation highly suspicious I do wonder in what situation does someone take a toddler, keep them inside, release them hours before they are found and have them end up covered in ticks.

We have ticks in our yard. Ticks take many hours to bite and latch on and become engorged. You are not going to have an engorged tick on you in less than 5 hours. It would also be really odd for a child to acquire multiple tick bites if they have been inside. And quite frankly not remotely believable for a child to have multiple engorged ticks on after only being outside a few hours. It's just not possible. So the tick bites would have to be from long before her arrival home.

My kids can play outside all day long and they don't come inside covered in tick bites. Now I've seen some wild areas badly infested with deer where there were many deer ticks. They are TINY though and still take a lot of time to engorge. I hope someone is examining this and kept the ticks. But I'd sure want to know if she had tiny unengorged ticks on her or latched on and engorged ticks myself.

They didn't say she was covered in tick "bites"; they said she was covered in the ticks themselves.

This is a very good point. The fact that she was covered in ticks does suggest she was in the woods for a fairly long period of time.

We don’t know that they are even getting any benefits for her though. We have custody of our grandchild who also will be 3 later this month. We don’t receive any benefits for him. We don’t know the circumstances on how she became under grandpas custody. Our grand child wasn’t removed for his mother by the state and then placed with us. We knew there was major drug usage going on and our grandchild wasn’t safe. We Genuinely feared for his life another case was happening in our area a missing child case . That case basically “woke us up” to the fact that our grandchild needed someone to Save him NOW. Not wait around for the state to actually get involved.
So we on our own just filed that the child was a CINC , we petitioned for custody of the child. We wanted to keep him safe until his mom realized she had problems and got herself together. Hoping she could parent him again someday when /if she becomes the person and mother she once was. We were awarded custody with no problem. But they did do background checks on us even credit checks. We had to prove we were financially able to provide for the child . You can’t have a criminal record or so forth either. For us they even checked to make sure CPS has never had involvement with our house hold. Since we still also have a minor child in the home. There was more that they did to check us out but it was alot more then I expected.

However this explains why only grandpa had custody. It may have happened this way with Charlee . However if Charlee was already is state custody like she is currently then you automatically get benefits since your caring for them under the state-placement . However it’s different in some states I sure . I think if Charlee was in state custody prior to being placed with grandpa we would of heard about it but Jmo.

When I saw the interview with g- gma I also did a double take thinking no way. But then reality set in and started thinking of my own mother who of course is the “great Grandma” to my grand kids. She looks similar in age to this g-Grandma. But the title really makes you think of some one else entirely. I was expecting her to look like MY grandma. But she resently did pass away but it’s making me realize how Lucky it was for my grand children and all my cousins grandchildren etc. That they even had a great great grandma Alive and actually active in thier life’s until she did pass away unexpectedly. She was never frail or inactive she lived on her own and got around to see everyone constantly you don’t see that often. Especially with family because we didn’t really start young in having kids. But I’m not sure what people consider “young “ these days . Lol

That’s my thought to! We never get covered in ticks in just a short time out in a wooded area either. I actually haven’t ever been bit by one myself in my life. I think I pulled one off of one or 2 of my kids in thier childhood. And of course our dogs we had priorly before they had such great preventive measures. Our last dog we had for 14 years and he never had fleas or ticks ever period. But we made sure to use proper preventive measures. This may also be the case with Penny maybe she was on frontline or advantage whichever . She could of also washed herself even in a body of water etc. so I’m not confused by the dog being clean and tick free. Dogs often keep themselfs very clean regardless of the circumstances.

I’m mostly confused as to how the dog and child ended up being found at the same time. But in different locations that’s got me confused. The dog apparently stayed with her the entire time so it doesn’t seem like they would return in different locations odd.

grandmas interview was totally confusing to me. She said something about seeing her running down the hill. As if Charlee was found there along with the dog. Then she kinda jumped to she expected her to be? Or maybe it was bad editing or something grandma’s interview just seemed all over the place. Like it was edited odd. Maybe that’s grandma’s personality though. I haven’t seen any other interview with her.

It seems like grandpa is the one who is most concerned about this child. He has custody so I wonder if any “custody” dispute the sheriff was implying was that the Grandpa didn’t want the mom around the baby? Maybe Grandma who didn’t really have any say since it would of been grandpas call was letting her daughter have access to the child behind Grandpas back. That was the custody issue he was referring to. Mom and Grandma probably enable each other leaving grandpa and poor Charlee in the middle of the mess. Didn’t I hear that mom was just in rehab along with her husband? I also don’t buy that she sees her daughter every single day . That’s something my own daughter tries to claim that sees her child every day etc . She goes months without contact but in her mind she’s a daily involved mommy!

Well we are in Kansas and we saw the Brewer case go down. Then when Lucas’s case hit the news that was it ! We literally hired a lawyer the very next day. I have ZERO regrets. I can’t be here after the fact thinking about the what if’s. At least I / we knew we were doing everything possible with out question. I feel for the grandparents and other family members in some of these cases. Wishing or wondering what more they could of done and living with any regrets period.

Any more news out of the area? I’m wondering where her diaper and pants are. That’s concerning those items haven’t been discovered . That’s the only part that worries me that someone might of got to the child . Then again I don’t see a sexual predator letting her go alive. Unless Penny was involved in scaring the person or such. If only dogs could talk!

Regardless this is a miracle I didn’t expect this ending. I also think of where she happened to end up. ! It’s almost like she needed to be found by exactly that neighbor I think it will help him heal somewhat or regain faith after what happened in his past. What a great outcome for once !

Speculation and opinion about the ticks -

Most people walking in wooded areas would be wearing pants and long sleeves and maybe even a hat.

I imagine it wouldn't take as long to get ticks if you weren't wearing any pants. From what I understand it may take up to two hours for a tick to attach itself. If you're in a tick infested area I think that in a few hours you could have ticks attached.

We don't know how many ticks she had. If I had two or three ticks, I'd probably say I was covered in ticks. :(

There is a cemetery on a hill between Lebanon Junction and Boston and I won't go up there without spraying myself good with repellent. Last time I was up there less than 5 minutes and I was covered in ticks. Gross. So that area is pretty well known for ticks.
