I'm starting to wonder why they're so convinced. Have you heard any updates (referencing your 9:18 PM comment from last night)? I was thinking maybe the clothing was a giveaway or something.

What I heard came from Simones fb. That it was him and that she did an off camera interview with the media. Dont know what to think unless LE doesnt want this in the media yet or they were told clothing description.jmo.

Our ABC affiliate in Evansville spoke to the family of Tromain Mackall, the missing Ohio County man.

The family is convinced that the body that was found in a toolbox in Grayson County is his.

Medical examiners are still trying to identify the body found in the toolbox last week.

Now a family says, it is their loved one.

A body was found in neighboring Grayson County more than a week ago.

Now, even though medical examiners have not officially released the identity of that body found, Howell believes it's her cousin.

"It's been really hectic. My aunt's ended up in the hospital because of this. She's a little better now, but still kind of hard for her to accept that someone murdered her son."

This story basically says... Well, the family "knows" it's him that was in the toolbox...

But the authorities haven't said "jack" about it being him or it not being him. This is a crazy case all around, but I don't know why they're taking so long to actually say much of anything about the deceased. He may be known to be the victim, but I don't understand why they would state merely that this is a male and they were strangled twice (or however you'd describe it). Because if they were really still looking for an identity, you don't get very far with the scant details that they've released.

I don't think remains from 2007 would have an odor.

Hard to say for sure from the video and still shot, but the toolbox appears to be silver metal rather than black.

The Grayson County Coroner confirms the body of 29-year-old Tromain Mackall, of Hartford, was found on August 2nd in a truck toolbox floating in Spring Fork Creek in Grayson County.
The coroner says the identification of Mackall was delayed because they had to use medical and dental records to positively identify him. The coroner says the cause of death is multi-modal asphyxia.

The wording of the reason for delay made me think family did not identify him (either he was unrecognizable or they were not available). Could they have used DNA to confirm?

Idk. Gut feeling? I mean he was so decomposed they couldn't tell race or gender for a while right?

They said that (dental records) was how they were working on his ID a while back. I thought it would be a fairly quick way to ID him. But I guess they were either being very careful with the info or they know a lot more than they've been releasing.

But at least he's finally been solidly ID'ed.

I wonder what took them so long, since the family has purportedly "known" it was him for a while. It just seems weird to me that the family would know so much earlier than when the officials officially released his ID.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Tromain is my cousin. Now we can finally have his body sent here to us in Maryland and give him the proper burial he deserves. We all miss him sorely especially his son.
