Their story...at the 12 min mark in the video is enlightening and the gf's reactions are telling. If drugs aren't involved, I'll be totally surprised. (Check the previous story out about a Chinese restaurant being closed down..harvesting and serving road kill! Found the deer inside the kitchen)

This case will be a cultural learning experience for many, imo. Your talking back woods mountain living. This is forgotten America. I can guarantee any NY or LA street 🤬🤬🤬🤬 would be looking over their shoulder if plopped down in this environment...and rightly so.

Cultural Experience? These people are real, everyday people who talk differently. There are drug issues there but there are drug issues everywhere nowadays. How do I know? I live not too far from there and I HAVE lived in NY, TX, Colorado, Ohio and Virginia. Different accents and expressions when they speak. Murders due to drug issues are not exclusive to this area.

Their culture has nothing to do with their accents. Accents are regional linguistics.....and your right, they are very real people....proud and humble within the very same breath. Most believe in the golden rule and what's right and fair. Never did I say murders or drug problems were exclusive to the area. That would be nonsense Your picking on the wrong person to be thinking I'm degrading the people there....just the opposite...and sorry you took it that way. My one grandfather was a coal miner...the other a farmer with ties to VA going way back...and I can still flat foot with the best of them. ;) Back to Larry and Sandra and hoping you will join in on helping to bring them home.

OIL SPRINGS, Ky. (WYMT) - Their son says they went on vacation, but police say it looks suspicious.

Family says Larry and Sandara Blanton have not been heard from in two weeks, and police say they have reason to believe something bad happened to them.

Their son says it is unusual.

"It's not like them to leave. Anybody that knows my dad, he's not going to leave his farm and his animals for more than two or three days at a time," said William Blanton.

He says his parents left eight days ago saying they were going to Florida.

"I've never knowed them to take a vacation, and they said that's what they was going to do, was to get away," he said.

Police say that is not the story they have heard from other family members.

"Sandara's mother, she was concerned that she'd made several calls to the residence and didn't get an answer," said Sheriff Dwayne Price.

Those phone calls were two weeks ago, and Friday she decided to report it.

"Based on what I have seen in the investigation up to this point, it does look suspicious," said Price.

Now their son says he feels he is being targeted.

"It hasn't been real good. I've had people make accusations that I would do something to my parents. Anyone who knows us around here knows my mother's my best friend. I mean I've got pictures of her. It's been real hard," he said.

He says he is worried about his parents, and wants everyone to help keep an eye out.

"If anybody's seen them, please let us know something," he said.

Police say they are investigating by checking bank and cell phone records. They say the Blantons' cell phones have not been used since the fifth of this month.

Anyone with information about the Blantons should contact the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.

Ok, just thinking here, speculating only, if W&/orA did something to mom and dad, what was their reason for delay in reporting them missing? What changed or made the difference in those days? W has to know mom and g-ma phone calling ritual, so he knew she'd be wondering where the usual call was.

I watched a lot of the mom's videos on her blogs, she seemed to have a pretty good relationship with her son. She loved that grandson too. If W&/orA were involved, what happened that pushed he/them to breaking point?

I know it's hard to separate some who does illegal things from someone who disappears their parents, but sometimes they aren't related. We know they both are no strangers to local LE, so what if mom & dad didn't come back from riding horses one evening, but horses did? Maybe they hesitated to call LE for fear of being blamed. Maybe not bring too bright, decided not to call until THEY looked for them first, and then decided to make up reasons for their disappearance. Unfortunately, thinking things through along the way decided their original story didn't make good sense and changed it. (Remember, this is one who tried to fill missing dads prescription)?.....

Just playing devils advocate here. Otherwise, I think mom and dad didn't cough up money needed for child support and drugs...... Wonder if there were other monies taken, maybe cash? If W had enough money up to til now, seems if he didn't do drugs he was planning on selling prescription pills for cash? ( I'd be interested to know when dad last filled prescription too) He has to be strapped supporting household and all those animals on one salary. (I assume he has a job)?

All the above just my own wild rambling thoughts about their disappearance.... Nothing based on any facts, just theories only.... :waitasec:

What a dip stick, if it weren't the probability that his parents are deceased and imo at the hands of their son and gf it would almost be laughable.

I believe it was mentioned up thread that he has already started selling off the livestock and who knows what else. I know Sandara kept him in a positive light in her blogs, but what mother wouldn't?

Obviously, drugs have gotten a hold of him and have taken him to the depths of fire.

imo

Willie's in jail for trying to fill dad's prescription ..... Locally!

GF was in jail last week for lack of support. Is she still there? Unfortunately, I have a strong feeling these two know what happened to W's parents. Although it is rumor, lots of message boards, topix, etc all have many messages stating these two have a history of lots of drug use, legal problems, etc. Doesn't mean they did it, but certainly adds to me leaning that way.
Unfortunately, I'm familiar with chronic drug abusers (one in the family) and they will do things totally against their own past personal/moral beliefs in order to get drugs. Very impulsive. Don't think things through. Very angry/frustrated when they are unable to know how next fix is coming. Stealing. lying. explosive anger. unpredictable.

This is a CLOSE family member that would NEVER do any of these things if they were not using. Very strong moral code has been pushed aside by the desperate need for drugs. Very painful for all who love them. (and in moments of sobriety, very painful for the user also). Very hard to learn to continue to love the user while putting up appropriate boundaries to protect yourself. Ugh, wish I could change it.

I pray they can figure this out while they are both incarcerated.

What a sad, sad case. LE needs to put the screws to these two...the son and girlfriend...while they are in custody. We need to know what happened to Larry and Sandra.

When Willie arrived at the pharmacy Monday afternoon to try and fill his missing father's prescription, the known habitual criminal was arrested on the spot.

Sheriff Price says as soon as the couple went missing 35 days ago, Willie and Amanda moved from their trailer into his parent's home.

The sheriff also says Willie has scrounged up all the loose metal on the farm and sold it for scrap. And he says Willie sold off all his father's cattle.

Price says Willie and Amanda have also illegally cashed a dozen or more of the Blantons' checks -- both before and after the vanishing.

Thanks for the link. This case just makes me so very sad and headlines the mind of a junkie :moo:

From your link:

The Sheriff will soon take those charges to a grand jury as he continues to follow leads and gather evidence.

Many of those leads suggest where the parent’s bodies might be found, Price said.

:(

I hope that they find the Blantons soon. They deserve so much more!

Coroner says identities of bodies could take awhile

This is about 50 miles east going toward Paintersville. The vehicle registration is Michigan, but that really doesn't mean anything, imo. Doesn't say what type of vehicle...and I'm wondering if it was a blue Nissan?

Not sure, this says they think man and woman visiting from mich maybe? Nothing's been determined yet though...

Probably unrelated, but this one is about two found in van in a different location, in Mckee, ky
But fire was put out Sunday, so unless W & A didn't do it, or they had accomplices...

This is horrible not knowing, prayers for S & L .....:please:
