GUILTY KY - Larry, 60, & Sandra Blanton, 53, Oil Springs, Sept 2012

  • #121
I just found her blog too, and realized I had been watching one of her videos from a few days ago where she and and a young boy were hiking. OMG. I felt like I knew her. If the son did this WTH was he thinking!!!!??????

ETA: The young boy was her grandson and the POI's son. :thud:

And they started a saw mill................DYNA TECH BANDSAW - YouTube

I just looked over some of Sandara's blogs and videos and I, too, felt like I got to know her. She loved her life, her family, the land, and animals. Paradise Mountain was a beautiful home.

There were some pics of son, William, in prison and one (not sure if it was him or not) where he playfully has a chainsaw up against his father's neck. Sandara loved caving and talked about the many Indian caves in the vicinity. There are numerous nooks and crannies where a body could be hidden forever. Unless LE gets a confession out of someone, I doubt the bodies will be found.

How awful to think that possibly the couple's own son may have put an end to his parent's dream life. The way William and his girlfriend just moved right into the family home is unbelievable, no matter what happened to the couple or who is responsible. Obviously, neither of them has a conscience.

The post by Anthony 2/3's or so of the way down on pg 10 here is interesting. Not that he's necessarily who he says he is.

Thanks for this info. Those posts could make for a whole new story! Lots of the posters seem to know the family or are out-of-state relatives. All the evidence still seems to point to their son, William, even though the brother (if it's really him) is defending him. But we here on WS have see this scenario play out many times, so the brother's reaction will surprise none of us.

Crews continue search for missing couple

http://www.wkyt.com/home/headlines/Crews-continue-search-for-missing-in-Johnson-Co-174046721.html

Price said if nothing turns up, they plan to execute another search within the next couple of weeks.

“We are hoping that we will find something that will answer this mystery,” said Price.

Law enforcement and volunteers said they will not give up.

Hmmm... this article says both Willie and the gf are in jail on drug related charges. Either she got additional charges or the reports of it being for non-support were incorrect.
I hope they stay there for long enough to the police to find the parents.
Such an awful case. God bless those who love Larry and Sandra.

indictments for the pair on several counts relating to missing couple:

A grand jury indicted Willie Blanton, who is the son of missing Larry and Sandara Blanton, and his girlfriend Amanda Fannin on several charges Wednesday, and almost all of those charges are related to the couple's disappearance.

There are ten charges, eight for Willie Blanton and two for Amanda Fannin, both named as persons of interest in the disappearance of Willie's parents.

There has been no sign of the couple since early September, and police say their son and his girlfriend have been acting suspicious.

"Charges range from criminal possession of a forged instrument, as well as persistent felony offender, and fraudulent use of a food stamp card," said Johnson County Deputy David Pridemore.

They say the pair has been writing checks on the couple's bank account and repeatedly using their food stamp card since they went missing.

LOL@hoosecow!! ---I guess Willie isn't as "slick" as he thinks he is!...I am VERY proud of the hard work that the Johnson County Sheriff's department has done!!! WTG gettin this case to the grand jury-and getting these indictments!! And trust me, they aren't through with "Willie" yet!! They WILL find Larry and Sandra, and well, Willie and Amanda will be getting a new home...and it WON'T be Larry and Sandra's!! :)

And for those who thought I was misjudging the son-..I hope you know now that I wasn't! I have studied these cases enough to know..

Well, obviously Willie isn't too bright. Posing as your missing dad to get a prescription filled? Writing checks out of his account?
Let's just say that not every knife in the drawer is sharp.

Their culture has nothing to do with their accents. Accents are regional linguistics.....and your right, they are very real people....proud and humble within the very same breath. Most believe in the golden rule and what's right and fair. Never did I say murders or drug problems were exclusive to the area. That would be nonsense Your picking on the wrong person to be thinking I'm degrading the people there....just the opposite...and sorry you took it that way. My one grandfather was a coal miner...the other a farmer with ties to VA going way back...and I can still flat foot with the best of them. ;) Back to Larry and Sandra and hoping you will join in on helping to bring them home.

Sorry....I'm not picking on you. Would love to help.

Two articles on this link, one above the other.

Willie indicted:
10 charges of possession of a forged instrument (he used 10 of his parent's checks; totaling over $3000); theft by unlawful taking over $500; intent to defraud/scheme to obtain benefits under $10000.; prohibited acts relating to controlled substances and persistant offender.

And, what a shock:
He pled not guilty.

Praying they will find Larry and Sandra soon.

I'm a Newbie and I was trying to quote from several sources when I captured something you said. I was offended by the term "hillbilly". I was offended by someones implying they have a huge drug problem in a forgotten America. Not your terms. In otherwords, us folks born and raised in this part of Ky. My definition of culture is all the characteristics that make up a particular group of people. Some of our so called language differences is actually old English or handed down by the Scotts Irish who were ancestors to many of us.

I really have no words.

Said the dogs picked up their scent at the Paintsville Lake.

***The couple they found in the burned out car that I posted about earlier is believe to be a son and daughter-in-law of a Michigan woman, but the bodies were so badly charred they could not use dental ID, and now must use DNA. The car was the mother's.

Hi MissJ....and WELCOME TO WEBSLEUTHS! I am so glad you posted. I am from NC...and was born in Alabama. In our part of the country, we use "hillbilly" to describe someone from the mountains. My husband calls himself "hillbilly," because he was born in the hills. Sometimes, it can be used in a derogatory way though...so I can understand what you mean.

I know your comments are directed toward Holly and I feel sure she will respond with a clarification. I have known Holly for a while here on WS. She is kind and well-informed. She is a poster you will see often. I sincerely believe she would not want to offend you or any other person here on WS.

With that being said, I am glad you addressed the situation. So many times, people let things fester instead of asking for an explanation or respectfully letting their concerns be known. I can already see you are going to be a great sleuther! I look forward to knowing you better :seeya:
