Found Deceased KY - Raphael “Ray” Taliaferro, 79, radio journalist, Paducah, 10 Nov 2018

Having listened to the interview, all of this is so sketchy, especially his wife being in Chicago and coming to speak with investigators the next day (Nov 26). What was she doing from Nov 10 until then? Why was she not posting fliers and appearing on TV? Who is this woman? Her identity seems to have been scrubbed from the internet or at least be beyond my sleuthing skills.

It’s interesting that his colleagues weren’t aware he had kids. He had said he had none, but he had several. Thank goodness the music director was able to find his son on FB and communicate his concerns, even before knowing Ray was missing. And thank goodness his son is on the scene now. But how tragic for him if it turns out to be Ray’s body they have found.

I don't think the wife has ever met with authorities. She -called - the authorities after Ray went missing.

Ray had three children. Two living.

Yes, good luck finding any- info on the wife.

She just updated they spoke with the Sherrif's department and they said they can't provide any additional detail at this time. KGO is now trying to speak directly with the Sheriff who they interviewed on the air last week. More to follow....

Yes, you’re probably right. I guess it just seems odd that she has been so invisible during this time. The fact that Ray was seen by three different people Nov 10 takes her off the suspect list, and whatever happened is no doubt a terrible accident. But she seems to be deliberately flying under the radar (seedy hotel). Why??

Staying at a "seedy motel" when other nice hotels were right around the corner is *NOT* consistent with Ray, according to statements made on the air this evening by his colleague Pat. He is apparently a "man of means" and was very particular. The seedy motel is a huge *red flag*. What happened there? RED FLAG.

Sentimental reasons? Place he'd been to previously and it had deteriorated since then?

And sometimes one person's "seedy" is another person's "cozy and romantic."

I’m just sick about this, even though it was the expected outcome after this much time.

I hope we will get some information about Ray’s movements after stopping at the church. Did he go back to the car and stay in it somewhere for a few days, as the sheriff indicated? Or was it at the bank the whole time? And where is his wife? Has LE checked his bank accounts? I really hope Ray was not taken advantage of, and if he was that it comes to light.

Taliaferro had been missing for three weeks. His son tells ABC7 there's been no luck getting in contact with his late father's wife.
