Hubers says as she left her birthday party with Poston(first meeting) claims he grabbed her wrist. Said, "I feared him and that I needed to do what he was telling me to do." Said that Poston reached up her dress and grabbed her thigh and felt it was too much too soon. @WCPO

Hubers claims that on their second meeting Poston came to her apartment. "As soon as he came into my apartment he took his gun off and put it on my(kitchen) island. I thought it was strange because I didn't know anyone else who carried a gun." @WCPO

"It was late and we both had been drinking. I offered him my couch to sleep on." Claims he came into her room and was watching her sleep and talked his way into her bed. Claims they fooled around but he was too rough and told him to leave. @WCPO

Hubers claims a source of conflict in her relationship with Ryan Poston was her -inability to respond sexually-(my words not hers). Testimony today has been graphic at times. Will be up to the jury, however, to decide if they believe it. Commonwealth yet to cross examine. @WCPO

Hubers just described what sounded like a drunken fight where she admitted to striking him first. Says he shoved her down after that. @WCPO Hubers testified to multiple shouting matches she and Poston had.

Hubers retrial breaking for the day. Defense still has the ball. Attorney David Eldridge will continue his direct examination of Hubers in the morning. Commonwealth will cross examine tomorrow. Court observers expect that to be monumental. @wcpo

(I sure wish we were seeing all of this! Grrr!)

Shayna Hubers stunned the courtroom by taking the witness stand in her murder retrial Wednesday and claimed abusive treatment from her boyfriend Ryan Poston started on the day they met.

Hubers said she and Poston hooked up on Facebook in March of 2011 and she invited him to her 20th birthday party. She testified that Poston wanted to go to another bar and he grabbed her wrist with a tight grip.

"I remember thinking he had a strong personality and what is — I feared him — I felt like I needed to do what he was telling me to do," Hubers said. "Once we got there, we were sitting in a booth at this tavern. I recall Ryan — I had on a dress — and I recall Ryan reaching under my dress, grabbing one of my thighs and making a comment about my thigh that felt inappropriate or vulgar for how little I knew him in person."

She feared him from the very first date. And then she continued to see him for 18 months and sent him thousands of text messages. ?????

Psst--Shayna, you're making a bigger fool out of yourself than you're already thought to be. No one believes you.

I think Shayna is a stalker and the things she says are actually turned around. She was doing all these things to Ryan!

What gets me if and a Big If she gets out of prison sooner. What will happen to her new spouse? Didn't she fall in love in prison and doesn't she care about her spouse.

Is there a chance she could get a longer sentence than her original sentence of 40 years? I ask because IIRC, Dalia Dippolito could not be sentenced to longer than her original sentence when she had a re-trial.

I wouldn't think so. I would imagine she is still being charged the same as the 1st trial, just like Dalia in hers. I would like her to get life though!

Shayna Hubers trial update: Court is in recess for 15 minutes. Hubers is still on the stand. Hubers said she got up from the floor where she was seated as Ryan Poston reached across the table. She grabbed the gun. She said she shot him. @Enquirer

Shayna Hubers testifies that before she shot Ryan Poston, he pointed a gun at her and said, “I could kill you right now and get away with it”. That followed a violent struggle where she thought Poston was going to break her neck. @wcpo

(I doubt this is true! jmho)
