Specht getting choked up on witness stand when she says Gouker tells her "that looks like a good place to die" after holding gun to her head

Jason Riley ‏@jasonrileyCJ 1m

Specht made a joke about how she was nervous and they all laughed and Gouker drove back to town and they went for food.

Paige Quiggins WDRB ‏@PaigeWDRB 1m

Gouker is the one who drove the car out to the country after Specht got a room for them... He's the one who made the comment

Paige Quiggins WDRB ‏@PaigeWDRB 55s

Specht: he told me to look Joshua in the eyes and tell him that I would not call the police.
She says she was being compliant after incident

He was using young JY to try to persuade her not to call police. JY sounded like he didn't want any part of any of what was going on.

Specht said Gouker had her look #JoshuaYoung in eyes and promise she wouldn't go to police. Young looked upset, "he didn't want any part."

So you think she was a willing 'victim'?

One thing I don't believe. I believe that a person in fear for their lives is not thinking about the welfare of other people. Unless they are extraordinary human beings. I don't buy that she was concerned about other peoples' safety. I think if she hadn't froze she may have run screaming from the store.

Specht acted as though she was on Gouker's side, acting like a mom, to get released. Gouker even gave her a watch to give to her son.

  • #826
He gave her a watch! And..she hugged all of them? Wow. Odd.

ETA: you got to do what you got to do in her situation.

Specht continuously taking long breaths while re-telling story about when she was kidnapped by #JoshGouker

Jason Riley ‏@jasonrileyCJ 21s

Specht gave him more Xanax, hoping he would fall asleep. Gouker said his son's life depended on her not calling police. He let her go.

  • #828
Yup. She was willing participant. Everyone was doing drugs.

t
she was in motel room alone before she she piled them all in her car. they then went to another motel and all stayed together in motel room for two days drugging.

I had a customer in here and they left maybe five minutes ago. Did she testify about the these two drugged crazed days/nights already? Did that happen?

Specht called police. Did this woman play the mastermind, Gouker, saving her own life in process? Seems so.

Paige Quiggins WDRB ‏@PaigeWDRB 1m

#Gouker released #Specht after telling her that his son's "life depended" on her not telling police what happened, referring to kidnapping

Why didn't the DA contact this witness even during this trial? I don't get it.

Is it because they didn't think it would help to convict him? Just seems they have their mind set on conviction and not after the truth.

JMHO

PS.... the incident she just talked about does have to do with this case. They're talking to those two girls, why not this witness? Doesn't seem thorough, on the DA's case, imho. fran

Specht said LMPD and prosecutors never got in contact with her. Prosecution now questioning her.

Paige Quiggins WDRB ‏@PaigeWDRB 26s

Prosecution now cross-examining #Specht

Jason Riley ‏@jasonrileyCJ 1m

There was never any discussion of Trey Zwicker's death, Specht said. Said #JoshYoung maybe said 20 words to her entire time.

I believe she gave Xanax to Jahaira (sp) too. I don't believe that part. Why didn't they prosecute the kidnapping case?

  • #834
Erin just testified that the total time she spent with them was approx six hours in total - They had her rent the room for two days, and ultimately let her go.

  • #835
Yup. She was willing participant. Everyone was doing drugs.

If she was a willing participant, why did she call the cops?

  • #836
I believe she gave Xanax to Jahaira (sp) too. I don't believe that part. Why didn't they prosecute the kidnapping case?

Would the State continue if the victim didn't want anything more to do with this?

Is it just me being jaded or does this witness appear sympathetic to JY
