OMG Surfie...spookie! You took the next question right out mf my mouth! (or my fingertips I guess since we're typing!) LOL!

Can we discuss this as MSM since there IS new information in it...as well as some oddities we could explore?

bbm

What new info do you see? I only see info that originally came out, that has changed since the investigation.

"Stepmom, who raised him since birth"

A bit odd to clarify her relationship on a flier. Plus I agree it's strange to have so many of the details put into it. Sure sounds like something either TH wrote or that she gave to LE in the very beginning stages. MOO

Take the time to visit their website they do an extremely remarkable job.

Terri didn't write that flyer. The LostNMissing website does that and they get their info from LE.

http://www.lostnmissing.com/

It seems by the way it is written (more info about Terri than Kyron) that Terri would have been the one to either write it, or provide the info for it. If LostNMissing wrote it after verifying the info from LE, then I say LE gave them the info exactly as Terri had given it to LE.

This "flier" was posted to the lostnmissing website on Sun. June 6. Not sure if copies were made and sent out, or if it was made just to post on their website. I would be pretty sure Terry filed out the info on their website for this.

Hopefully we can get it clarified who gave the info. I know on another flyer for another case, the info came from LE. It will be interesting to find out if Terri gave the info for it.

Okay, for clarity's sake, I found this from here, an article from June 5th from the Oregonlive: http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/details_emerge_about_the_day_k.html

~~~snipped contents for clarity and comparison purposes~~
"Horman, who has raised Kyron since he was an infant, snapped a picture of him standing in front of it that she later posted on her Facebook page. "
"He was so excited about his science project," said Carol Moulton, Horman's mother and Kyron's grandmother. "They had worked on it together. He was anxious to take it to school and show it off."
At 8:45 a.m. when the bell rang, Terri walked her stepson down the hall close to his class.
Carol Moulton said the kids were supposed to report to their classes and be divided into small groups of a few students each. Each group was supposed to tour the science fair with a chaperone. Afterward, when they returned to their classes for roll call, Kyron wasn't there, she said.
After leaving the school, Terri went about her day, running errands and taking care of household chores.
"Terri has raised Kyron," her mother said. "She's been with him since he was an infant. She's as much of a mom as the mom is because the parents had separated about the time that Kyron was born."
She said he visits his biological mother in Medford every couple of weeks and that Desiree, 38, came to Portland as soon as she heard about his disappearance.
Kyron was supposed to take the bus home Friday, so Terri went to the bus stop at 3:30 p.m. to pick him up.
But the bus driver told her he wasn't there.
Panicked, she ran home and called the school to discover that he had been marked absent for the day.
She called 9-1-1, setting off a search that's drawn in a swarm of officers and several law enforcement agencies, including the FBI."
Could be Terry's mom filled out the info for the flier, or was just Quoting what Terry said, in the news article. Sounds pretty close to me.
So that answers whether Terri went to the school or went back to the house. What it doesn't clear up is Desiree's statement regarding talking to the school secretary who, Desiree said, told her Terri was at the school. I always wondered why Desiree said this, then immediately states she hung up with the secretary and called Terri's phone.
I think Desiree just misspoke there.
Terri referred to a flier on her FB page (there's a link here somewhere, but I can't find it) where she says "I ordered 1000 fliers."
So, does anyone think Terri wrote this flier? What do you think about the content?
Hi, this is Cynthia Caron, Pres-Founder of LostNMissing Inc. To settle a few questions, the "flyer" that you are speaking of was designed by my organization and is considered an "internet banner." Yes, we do missing posters and those are 8 1/2 x 11" sizing for posting on storefronts, etc. We always embed our website. Our banners are NOT copyright, nor do we intend on them to be because we want them used by as many online as possible to help get the message out. All are unique to those missing and no two are alike. We did it that way to gain attention from the "regular" missing posters. (although we do those also for families that we work directly) We also add as much "background" as possible, as it is presented to us, to draw those to read and learn about who/why/where/when one went missing. Curiosity draws attention and that is what the goal is.
The internet banner that was designed for Kyron is like many others on our website and are designed to be used for internet postings, blogs, forums and email. They are smaller in size to get through most email providers, whereas large missing posters may be rejected by email transports.
We design internet banners for those whose families have contacted us directly for assistance (a missing persons report must be filed and accepted by the local police and we verify with the police dept. or sheriff's office) Also, we work directly with law enforcement agencies that may contact us directly and we design banners of missing loved ones via referral from other organizations, and we work with media outlets who also come to us directly.
Kyron's banner was made within hours of his reported missing. He was referred to us from one of the reporters that we worked with on another case. As for the comment made by Kyron's stepmom that she had 1,000s ordered, it was not through us that she would have placed any orders. We never charge families for our assistance. It's possible she may have been talking about another "flyer" that she ordered. Again, because we do not copyright it is also possible she had our banner copied somewhere. I wouldn't know as we do not work directly with Kyron's family. Prayers that he will be located safely. Hope this clears up the questions.
You are correct. No recommendation has been made to have an updated banner made that would contain height, weight, etc. We rushed to get the banner out so that attention would be given as soon as possible with the information that we were provided. Someone mentioned "their" was spelled wrong. I was not aware and will be happy to make another with updated info and YES...spell check!! ;) Thanks for the heads up all, hope I cleared up any confusion.
If TH had written it, she would have been contradicting herself, because it says "She then walked him to his classroom wished him luck and headed home. However that was the last anyone saw the boy, as he walked down the corridor to his classroom".
That statement says TH was the last to see Kyron and TH says he was seen by someone with a male chaperon and two girls.
I'm not sure DY misspoke. It would seem logical that after TH did not find Kyron at the bus stop, she likely went to the school. She either called 911 there or before she left or on the way. I didn't see where it shows TH did not return to the school after Kyron failed to get off the bus. Does it? TIA!
- This is one of the interviews in which Kaine talks about what happened that day. From my notes across all his statements about what happened at the bus stop:
- He and Terri went downstairs.
- He put the baby's shoes on.
- He and baby started walking to bus.
- Terri caught up with them shortly.
- Kyron not on bus.
- Bus driver calls school.
- Kaine hears bus driver tell Terri that Kyron hasn't been in school all day.
- They run home, jump in the car, drive to the school together.
- He doesn't remember much of what they talked about in the car. Just panic and "what could have happened?" type stuff.
http://www.kgw.com/video?id=97177194&sec=547977
- Note that LE has documented on their website that it was the school secretary who called 911. See the PIO document:
http://www.mcso.us/public/newsroom.htm
- From Kaine's email of June 6:
We did not know he was not at school until we went to get him off of the bus at 3:30 and he was nowhere to be found. The bus driver immediately called the school which responded that his teacher had not seen him all day in class, at which point we notified police in partnership with the school.
(As an aside, and please forgive the O/T, just want to note because I think some people have been looking for this - the video is also the interview where Kaine talks about how Kyron sleeps 12 hours a night and doesn't get out of bed until someone goes and gets him. It's in response to the reporter asking if Kyron is adventuresome. Desiree smiles and chuckles warmly and sweetly as Kaine tells the story of Kyron staying in bed until someone goes in and gets him. She appears to me to be having affectionate memories of Kyron.)
It makes sense to me. She called TH's cellphone to speak to her directly, rather than having the secretary hand her the school's phone.
And it matches what KH and TH said--that as soon as they realized Kyron wasn't on the bus and the school didn't know where he was, they jumped in the car and drove to the school to look for him and figure out what was going on.
