Kyron's Parents in Touch with Oprah

Thanks, goatman. The segment just started here, too (ET). The announcer said, "In a rare interview...." ;)

Oh, Desiree....bless her heart. She couldn't hold it together when the reporter asked what she'd do when Kyron came home. OMG, that's just pitifully heartbreaking! :(

I think they should and then do good with it.

My opinion. Oprah's selling ad time, declining the money means it stays in HER bank, or SHE picks where it goes. Oprah makes money on every single show, every single guest. If it's a ton, they can build a playground or something. If it's not so much they can help family with compensation for time away from work.

That's a great idea, xin!!

Maybe if it's a playground in another country. Meow.

Edited to clarify: Ooops I read it wrong. I thought you were saying maybe Oprah could build a playground instead of pay them.

Does Kyrons case NEED exposure? Seems like just about everybody knows about it, from Portland all the way to out East....going on Oprah would accomplish- what?
Get TH on Oprah and grll her incessantly for an hour, that might yield some helpful information as to his whereabouts. Have LE standing by to arrest her after wards. JMO.

Sorry, i am just furious shes (TH) going on with life as usual while KH, DY and TY suffer more and more everyday, and Kyron is out there somewhere, needing to be found.....:furious:

I hate the idea of going on Oprah for them, personally...and I don't see how it helps. I think local LE is right in saying that this is a local crime and the answer is local as well. And K&D have made it pretty clear they believe Terri is guilty, so how would being on national TV help?

It is just "icky" to me...sorry. Oprah only thinks about ratings and she was very callous to the Goldmans some years back, in order to make for better TV. D&K's story likely appeals to her or her producers for the scandalous parts.

If I had a missing child I would go on any all tv shows that I could. You have to remember that Oprah has a very large viewing audience. Not everyone follows NG or JVM etc., but millions tune into Oprah every day. I would definitely do it. Anything to get/keep my child's face and story out there.

Okay, how can they suffer any worse? They have been on t.v. every single day for a month. (No cable just ABC, NBC, CBS here.)

Not the point.

Why turn down Oprah? Dear lord! Why the idea that Oprah does not pay for interviews? I just don't know, I am asking for some help here on this.

Prime News, Issues and Nancy are also still covering the story daily.

The CBS Early Morning show is getting ready to have a segment with Kyron's parents

I just don't think this is going to be in their best interest. The nation is aware of Kyron missing. Will going on Oprah help?

IMO, going on Oprah is not going to help find Kyron. A majority of the general public is not as interested in cases like this, unless it is within their state and those interested in helping to find the missing. The family is better off doing press conferences within their state to keep the general public aware in that area of the country.

:waitasec: The family has never been interviewed by Issues or Nancy. Although I do understand why they haven't been on either of the shows.

I live in a state far away, so if Kyron is anywhere, then maybe it would help.

I really, really think that KH should 'lay low' and focus on Kyron (which he is) and that, as others have stated, Oprah is for ratings. DY can go on O and say all she wants-but KH has more at stake-specifically a divorce that he still has to get through. I highly doubt that if he goes on Oprah the conversation will focus on Kyron and instead will get 'tunneled' into a "my wife disappeared my son story" with of course the requisite "we tried to get TH to come, but she declined to be interviewed statement". If she isn't arrested/a poi/ a suspect (officially) by the time the divorce and all its issues are dealt with-wouldn't this constant maligning of her character (whether well deserved or not) end up hurting his case-especially is such a public/national manner?

Snarky me says: "Great, what's next Dr. Phil: Family in Crisis...Did the Stepmom do it?" With of course, advice on how to handle TH and her issues.

Question: I do believe that getting the word out about Kyron is a great thing, and must be done. However, I wonder if the constant focus on TH might be causing the general public to be less aware. People are expecting TH to have taken him and to know where he is...therefore would they be as vigilant as they would be if they didn't think TH was involved? Could the constant focus on TH as a suspect (by the media) be causing tunnel vision for the public?

Since no one knows where he is and he could be anywhere like Jaycee Dugard was, then who knows?

I wish TH would go on Oprah. Remember when she interviewed Diane Downs? It was amazing! If you haven't seen it, google it. She did an excellent job showing that woman for what she really is.

I agree with the posters who say if it was their child, they would do ANYTHING.

DY/KH have had their life made public, and they still go out there no matter how cruel or embarrassing as they are not going to let their child become one of those children that we don't even hear about anymore.

And they haven't dragged their lives through the mud. We can thank the instant information age for that.

They are no longer private individuals. Hats off to them for putting aside their own selves and keeping Kyron's name out there.

just thinking...maybe "O" was the anonymous donor to the reward fund...thus "Interview"...this way she isn't paying...

sigh...another part of this case I can't decide my position upon.

I think I liked what one previous poster wrote (sorry, its a couple of pages back) but have O do a segment on Little Kyron. Have some professionals, LE come in and explain stuff. But if DY and KH go on...O is going to want to know the personal stuff as well....
and its gonna be more of a circus than it already is.

I will say, it is starting to not be surprising to me when I wake up, hopeing to hop on WS and see that Kyron was found, and instead...find stuff like this.

I just want Kyron home.

If anyone thinks he has been taken across any borders then O would be a good show to go on. Dateline got the word out here to many people. I know he has been on HLN but that isn't as popular here. It is good for anyone traveling as well, they may be more alert.

What about another America's Most Wanted segment? I went to their website and it seems that they did something on him, at least he is on the website.
I think JW will be able to KIS and NOT focus on TH and the family drama...

Personal Opinion: would prefer AMW over O. And we know that AMW is also pretty far reaching/international. Less sensational in my opinion.

IF my son were missing, I would go on every tom, dick and harry show I could just for the simple awareness. I would plaster my sons face on every single outlet I could. I would take Oprah's money and give it to a missing persons organization or something similar. I would do whatever I had to do to make sure every person in the world was looking for my baby period. JMO.
