This is so sad. People are really hurt!

Truly heartbreaking. My heart goes out to them. Those are the type of injuries I feared when we learned that some people were in serious/critical condition. Many people think that as long as someone survives a major accident/catastrophe the person will be fine. But, what Basantes and Reinhardt are experiencing really illustrates how victims are impacted by their injuries weeks, months, even years down the road. The bones that were broken will eventually develop arthritis as the victims age, so they will never completely heal. :(

I'm glad these people survived the rampage, and I wish them all the best in their recovery and their daily struggles through the new life some thoughtless person created for them in a matter of seconds.

Very well said Indy Anna! These are the types of injuries that people will deal with the rest of their lives.....that along with the emotional and financial trauma. Heartbreaking.

Oh that story was as sweet as it was sad. That woman and her friends sound like such kind people, the kind that would give you the shirt off their backs. I hope they get financial help.

Guess what, yall..... this piece of work is about to get out of jail. Like this month. I heard it on the news all day. I can find an article tomorrow. Welcome to New Orleans, where no crime is great enough to keep you on the inside of that revolving door. And they wonder why our police force is overworked and our crime is outrageous.
