Danniecat, is Jaren originally from the New Orleans area do you know?

A poster on WDSU's web page commented on her own FB page that Jaren is from Sprintfield/Ponchatoula (about 45 minutes from New Orleans).

Yes she is

I don't understand why they used the phrase 'covered with tattoos'. She's not.

Because, then they can discount her life value IMO as in well she was a dancer and covered in tattoos......

Her sister has the most beautiful picture of Jaren and her daughter.

You know it's not for sure her, weirder coincidences have happened. I t could be some poor young woman from MS and not Jaren.

I saw those and bawled, they are beautiful! And if if if she had an addiction that tore her away from that child, im even more sad....and if it had a hand in her demise, then I will just cry harder

We love you Jaren, and want you home safe and healthy!!

I was afraid of that.

The disparities in media coverage have always troubled me.

How many missing children of color do we hear about? It's not because they aren't missing.

But that's a rant for another thread.

I wonder who's taking care of the little girl. I may have missed something.

A friend of JL's (or family member, don't remember) commented earlier that JL's bf is also the daughter's father. I'm guessing she's with him.

That's what I saw, as well. No news article about the death, which in itself is a little unusual.

I could be wrong. I'm not a local and don't have the context necessary to make a judgement.
I'm wondering if the NO media should be contacted and made aware of Hillary's murder a few months ago and that she worked with Jaren.

I believe someone said earlier in the forum that they told the LE I think it was the cousin

BBM: that's what I have always said, but why not now? why not this one...2 women missing in the same area and the difference is huge! Why not address it? Not you specifically, in general! It's the elephant in the room as (i forgot which member it is at the moment)has a siggy line that says: elephant in the room do you A. ignore it or B. ride it into the meeting (or something like that Sorry in advance if I messed it up )

That IS spooky. Geez...you call for a legal one and this illegal one shows up. :( Do they kill people too? That is freaking scary!!! :(
The first time my best friends went to NYC...we met up there...they are from SC and i'm from NH. I love NYC so much and i was so excited to show them the city!!! So i drove w/ someone else and they flew there from Charlotte and met us there. On their way home, i kept waiting from them to call and say they were safely at the airport or even safely back home. I didn't hear from them for so long. I was so worried about them. When they finally did call, it was like the middle of the night. The cab driver that had picked them up and driven them to the airport took off w/ all their luggage! :( Except what they had literally in their hands. Like their purse and some tourist stuff. All their clothes and makeup and stuff gone. Forever.
They did all they could to find it and the cab company, etc. but never found out anything. It was like 5 or more years ago now.....
Don't know if it was the same kind of thing or not, but your story gives me chills. There is no way i would get in a cab around there w/ those kind of stories. In fact....note to self....don't ever get in a cab. :(

The only cars allowed to pick up a "street hail" are yellow cabs. They are highly regulated by the NYCTLC. Problem is, there aren't enough of them, and they tend to stay away from upper Manhattan and the outer boroughs. The "livery cabs" fill in the gap, they are technically only supposed to be "dispatched", meaning you call a cab company and the office sends a car. In reality, though, most of them illegally pick up street hails all day, the chances of getting caught by the TLC police a slim. Then, you have the "hustlers", guys who buy beat-up Town Cars and just put regular passenger plates on it, with the minimal insuance (legit livery cab insurance can cost $10000 a year), and pick up street hails. These guy are making a killing because they're not paying the insurance and licencing fees. They take home around $250-$350 a day. When they get caught it's only a misdemeanor offense, and the city siezes the car. They go spend two grand on another car and start again. I was actually thinking of buying an old Town Car and doing it on my days off (not to steal luggage, though! LOL).
I drive for a pretty high-end company, and I always tell my passengers to only get in yellow cabs. The drivers may be foul-tempered and drive like maniacs, but you never hear of situations like what your friends went through.
Another thing I tell them is, if given the choice get in the cleanest, newest-looking cab you can. Reason is, the garage would notice a new dent or scrape on a nice-looking car, they may not on an already-battered car.
Sorry for the lengthy OT.

Hillary worked with Jaren and was found murdered in an apartment but we can find any info in the media besides the obit

what do we know about this case? just that she took a cab to work? that's it? cell phone ? have they spoken with her coworkers etc. was there a client that was creeping her out? someone that kept coming to the club just for her - etc? was Hilary a dancer as well?

I posted in a diff thread a few days ago to someone who was having a really hard time with one specific case, and i said .... i think at some point it all comes to a head and we lose it on one case....I think this is mine. My DD is 21, has tattoos and piercings all over, maybe smokes an illegal substance now and then, and works in a bar.....I hope to hell someone would give a **** if she turned up missing, despite her choice of artistic expression or any other life choice!

I have already (on numerous occasions) let the BF know that I know things far worse than death to anyone who harms one of my kids...trust me, he knows it to be true!
