That's what I saw, as well. No news article about the death, which in itself is a little unusual.

I could be wrong. I'm not a local and don't have the context necessary to make a judgement.
I don't know what to make of it because I receive alerts every single day, all day long, from the NOPD, even when a perp is arrested for shoplifting. Tonight I searched through them all the way back through January, and I didn't find anything about a young woman murdered or found dead in her apartment. Of course, she might not have lived in Orleans Parish. I wonder if she lived in St. Tammany.

BBM: that's what I have always said, but why not now? why not this one...2 women missing in the same area and the difference is huge! Why not address it? Not you specifically, in general! It's the elephant in the room as (i forgot which member it is at the moment)has a siggy line that says: elephant in the room do you A. ignore it or B. ride it into the meeting (or something like that Sorry in advance if I messed it up )

You're right.

I'm fed up with missing people being marginalized, ignored and written off because they're not blonde females. (and I'm a blonde female)

It's an embarrassment to the nation that we allow any of our citizens - or guests - to be snatched and ground up by monsters.

It's disgusting and I'm mad as hell.

i feel like we don't know anything.

maybe we'll wake up and NOPD or LE in bay st. louis will have some info.

hopefully. if she's the body that washed up on shore, then we've got a crazy killer on the lose that needs to be caught before he kills again

The other girls name was Hillary, found her murdered in an apartment, badly decomposed, they have never charged anyone with her murder...She lived and worked in New Orleans but she was opriginally from Bay St Louis...I dont believe the police are taking it seriously in New Orleans because both of the young ladies were dancers.

this is all we know about hillary.

i don't think it's always that people "care" more about one girl over another. it seems like some families drum up the media and get together search teams etc while other families don't do this. they let the police do the job alone. i feel like the families and friends have to really shake things up in order to get coverage. once they get that coverage, then the public is interested and it grows from there. it's the initial "shake em' up" that is so important

There is zero information. How can that be? Why was this death so completely dismissed? If the present scenario hadn't played out so dramatically, we'd never have known.

Is this the community to take up the issue of the Ignored Missing? Is there a better place?

None of us is so firmly planted in any social position that a half step couldn't push us into the marginalized zone.

Missing children of color are my personal great concern. Of all of the Ignored Missing, what is sadder than a child no one notices is gone? What child deserves that? It's shameful.

(questions are rhetorical, btw)

While the association between Hillary Moulder and Jaren Lockhart is certainly disturbing, I think that people should be very cautious in referring to Moulder as a murder victim.

Her death was no doubt tragic, but I do find it a bit hard to believe that a homicide victim would garner no media or police attention whatsoever, especially in this day and age.

I believe it's deeper than that.

I believe there are underlying reasons for families to expect nothing or very little from law enforcement or the media.
